DeleteActually Bona, the former (statement by Pres GEJ) was made recently, this month in fact, at the annual summit of The Economist News Magazine. Not sure of the exact date but it was sometime in the middle of the month. The same day that the Fed High Court Abuja, in a suit brought by activist lawyer - Bamidele Aturu, declared deregulation illegal. I know this for a fact because I read it myself in the papers. So Linda is quite right.

This Jonathan is an fool forget. EVERYBODY benefits from the fuel subsidy because everybody moves around!!! Everybody uses one form of transport or another. Vulcanizers use fuel. Pepper grinders nko? Dont the poor people give their kids transport money to go to school everyday? Doesn't the market woman use a bus or a taxi to convey her wares and even herself to her stall everyday?

Does he know the amount of buses in Lagos and how many people rely on them everyday to get somewhere or the other just to bring food home?This was what he said January 2012 that it was the kids of those in Lagos that benefit the most from the fuel subsidy. This man is not alright for this statement and this line of thinking.

If you read Dr. Okupe's comment, you'll see that he is not saying anything different from what the president has said. He is only adding that they'll consult widely before removing the subsidy. Please, read the comments again.

Let's start by obeying traffic laws, getting our vehicle papers right,stop cheating people @ work or in business, stop encouraging ourselves and younger ones 2 use machineries for exams or cheat during exams,avoiding shortcuts and go 2ru d right means instead of bribing our way to the top etc. If they put us in this position of power, we might do worse.Except individuals change, Nigeria cannot change. Let's start grooming good leaders. God help us!
