#SaveJude: Brain tumour patient Jude Ibezim Osemeke passes on

Such a sad day. Brain tumour patient, Ibezim Jude Osemeke has lost his battle with cancer. He died this morning in Jos where he had been recuperating after his surgery in India. He returned from India in November and had been doing well until a few weeks ago when he relapsed.

You all remember Jude, right? We raised money for him on LIB sometime last year. The guy music producer, Jude Okoye donated N1million to. If you missed it read about him HERE and HERE.
Can't believe he's gone. Rest in peace, dear Jude. So heartbreaking..

  7. This is sad rip

People shouldn't always run to India for treatments bcos most doctors in India arent real doctors, a family sends a sibling to America to study medicine and that sibling now teaches the other siblings what he/she has learnt, please do your research

    1. When will Nigerians learn? We had better fix our health sector rather than paying for our citizens to be killed in other countries. Smh.... Everytime!!! This same India. It's eida d patients die there, or die shortly after (even after seeming like all is well), or they have anoda complicated ailment..... God av mercy on Nigeria.

  39. May he rest in peace. As a doctor, I want to make you guys understand something that many Nigerians do not know about cancer and many chronic illnesses that people travel to India to get help for. When you have cancer, you don't get a one-time treatment and go home and think everything is now OK. You need to be monitored very closely for many many years b/c even a little infection can kill you b/c your immunity is low from the cancer drugs you get. You have to be monitored to make sure the cancer has not come back (we call it relapse). These people we raise money for to go to India are given the false hope that $12,000 or so is all you need and you are fixed and we all scramble to raise money for them only for them to die a few months later and we say the Indian doctors don't know what they are doing. They know exactly what they are doing but they are also preying on uninformed Nigerians. The next time we raise money for people, let's bear in mind that that is just a starting point and unless there are plans for that person to continue staying abroad for years, they will likely die if they come back to Nigeria where there is no expertise to keep following them up.

  46. RIP Jude, dear friend and colleague. U fought hard for your life, but God decided he needed you with him. I pray God grants your family fortitude to bear this loss. May God comfort them during this time. And I pray that may weeping not be repeated in your family IJN. I pray for all who you left behind that God's wings of protection will shield us all from the angel of death. It is well. Adieu dear friend.

  47. Rest in Peace. There is something strange about treatment in India. Most of them don't last more than a year before they die. Just a loud thought from the people I have seen.
