Nigeria needs to do a better job presenting criminals to the media. That entire interview scene was horrible.

  12. So the police said they investigated and linked her ID information. But it wasn't until Linda posted up the missing persons info on her blog that it seemed the case got solved immediately. More questions than answers, but only God knows the truth, so I'll keep my theories to myself.

  23. question.... why didnt the hotel management move the corpse to the morgue without informing the police?

Shouldnt they have called the police immediately they saw the body????

that hotel should be closed down, cause in my opinion, they are culpable as well... if one hotel is not held liable, others will follow suit and hotels like this will become a den of people like this.

  25. Hi Linda, please lets put emotions aside and educate our young ladies. I spent my sallah holiday in 2 cities and in every city I met young undergraduates willing to spend the night with me, a stranger. This is becoming an epidemic in our higher institutions and I think your blog will be a good medium to talk some sense to our ladies. I read Cynthia's friends piece and I felt it was too emotional (I don't mean to sound heartless). A friend of mine was recently bragging to me about how many girls he had slept with all thanks to facebook and BB. From the guys confession they spent one night together and the next day he called his brother to come and help him tie her up.
I feel for her and her family cos i have a younger sister about her age and i know how painful it is. My major objective now is to try to avoid a repeat of this in the future. YOUNG LADIES PLEASE STOP MAKING UNNECESSARY "FRIENDS" ON SOCIAL MEDIA.
Linda in case you choose not to publish my comment Please lets start a campaign in honour of Cynthia to avoid a repeat of this cruel act.

    1. Chika God bless you. I am a young lady, recently out of law school, i am not a saint but honestly speaking, we need to speak out concerning the rate of moral decay amongst our girls. I am not judging cynthia, God rest her beautiful soul but let her death serve a more useful purpose in wakening our souls as girls, ladies, women and the society at large.
There is more to life than money, wears, shoes, technology and all. There is more to life than vanity. The truth is we spend a lot of money on ourselves to look good but at the end of the day, we lose that natural innocent beauty which an average man wants in a woman. We end up looking wild, aged and over-used.
Before i left Nigeria, i served in abuja and i saw hell, i used to think its poverty but its actually down to high standard of living, we want to live beyond our means and these men know how to get us.
I am sorry if my post becomes boring but my heart is just broken. May God heal this family of their pain.

  54. The problem i'm having with this story is why they are not revealing the faces of these guys. This is not the first time that Police would interview suspects on TV. If they are the true killers, let us see their faces or is there more to this than meet the eyes?

  68. This is extremely sad, the Nigeria society has degenerated to the point where there's absolutely no value for human live. My condolences goes out to the family of the murdered girl, unfortunately there are a whole lot of Jane Doe's out there whose murder will never be solved. As far as the perpetrators of this crime are concerned, they should be dealt with to the full extent allowed by the law.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Let them face the full wrath of the law.

  70. So painful n sad....may God 4give ur souls. Rip dear

  71. I may be wrong but I dont believe this police story. My question is: why are they preventing people from seeing their faces? They claimed to have done this on 4 innocent ladies before now and showing their faces might make the previous victims or even hoteliers to recognise and link them with other crimes. How can a murder suspect be so well dressed in Nigeria to the point of wearing blazer. The case has many unresolved issues but I dont trust Nigerian police an inch. A reference is in the killing of Edo Governor PA.

  76. If we are to believe the account of Cynthias death frm this babrian 33yrs old student,it means that on her arrival to Lagos on the 20th of July, they had consensual sex and then the following day this animal and his cousin attempted to rob cynthia of her belongings.
Her death is probably as a consequence of the Ramuootu they put in her drink!
What with the vibrator? I will not judge the dead but one question I need to know is this;will Cynthia's family be allowed to watch the execution of these Bums as they do right here in Texas? This is the most despicable act I have ever heard of in recent times.
A pretty lady gave him good pussy and they stil robbed and rapped her to death! What a travesty!

There was no remorse whatsoever,no contrition. It was only when they were captured that they began to sing like two canneries on drugs.I will follow this case to its logical conclusion and I am so certain that these Douchbags will burn in hell when justice is delivered on them.

How many guys do that in suits???? Or did the police catch the guys then tell them to go change into suits?

Another thing, we all know Nigerian police can be brutal when trying to get information from suspects. Are we supposed to think these guys simply walked through the doors and offered themselves up???

  97. @Chika and Onyeka God bless you,
Your post is the most reasonable I have seen in a Long while... I personally want to start an NGO that can reform the mentality of our Ladies, I always say it live according to your means please, If you cannot afford Brazilian hair or a blackberry work hard you can do it yourself, i still marvel at how they just throw their dignity away just like that... If I cannot buy a gucci bag now i know very soon i would afford it, if i enter primark today and spend 20pounds the combination i would come out with even people that went to harrods to shop would be admiring me, so everything is just about packaging package yourself on the right track dont be contented with just opening your legs to get what you want...if you do not even pity yourself dont you think about your creator? because of Lagos girls I have sworn not to buy this thing called Brazilian hair not because I cannot afford it but they have made it seem like in fact grammar is failing me, I get so emotional when i talk about things like this. I am not in a position to say what went wrong in Cynthia's case , I would only pray that Some people can learn from this. RIP Cynthia you were just unlucky...smh #ignore any gbaguans abeg i dey vex....
