Spanish firm unveils electronic 'smart bed' that makes itself

According to OHEA, the Spanish furniture company that created this bed, here's how it works.
In just 50 seconds two mechanical arms, one on each side and each equipped with a roller, carry the blanket back to the head of the bed. As it approaches, the pillows are lifted on two shelves allowing the blanket to neatly slot in underneath. They are then lowered and the bed looks neat and is completely made.
The owner does not even have to remember to turn the device on. A switch at the foot of the bed provides manual and automatic settings. Flipped to automatic, the bed can sense when somebody has just got up and starts making itself three seconds later. A built-in safety device ensures that it cannot operate when there is a person lying on the mattress.
OHEA listed the smart bed as coming soon. You gonna get one when it eventually becomes available? Watch how it works after the cut...

Oh Chimo! American wonder!! Imagine having this bed in naija. The way nepa works in naija these days with it's half current will definetely blow the safety device out and it will make the bed while you're sleeping!
Also, they said it makes itself the moment someone steps out of the bed after 3 seconds. So when a man and a woman are at it on the bed then go on the floor then back on the bed again might become an uncomfortable experience :). So for me it's a no no.

  25. If I buy that one now, I hope one day I will not run out of my bedroom thinking that a ghost or fairy is dressing my bed o. Kai, they will not kill person o. So is it that it will fling the bedsheet to the roof, to dust and clean it self before spreading it out on the bed. Linda you for even look for the video, upload for us, so that we start getting used to it. After all we are so used to GSM now. We do not throw our bags on the floor when the phone starts ringing or vibrating in the bag anymore.

  39. It only makes the blanket. What if they have people that sleep like my husband or my son? By morning, the bedsheet is half on the floor, the pillows are scattered all over the bed and the floor, clothes also find their way to the bed, etc. How will this bed make it? Its only for careful sleepers and they usually are the type that make the bed themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Interesting invention. However, I noticed the bed must be tucked in at the base. With the way I've seen some people sleep, even kids, highly unlikely.
