Agbani Darego Graduates From NYU

The new graduate with supermodels Oluchi (left) and Ojy Okpe (right)

The 2001 Miss World and celebrity model graduated from New York University yesterday with a Major in Psychology. This is the same University supermodel Oluchi graduated from two years ago. Big congrats to Agbani!

  2. Good girl, Genevieve Nnaji you see. It too her long but she did it. You do need a degree you know! Even our Oluchi bagged one. It does lend you some credibility. Sad thing is people like Tonto said they went to school and yet they still need elocution lessons.

    1. Hey anonymous, come down from your high horse. I have seen older graduates. Its not about how young or old you are, it's about how far you go.

    3. Thank you jare. You graduate at 21/23 and you realize you don't like what you studied because your parents influenced your decision. You studied accounting and then move back home to become a presenter on flytime

    4. Over here, people go to school because they understand the importance of knowledge and advancing in whatever field they want. We Nigerians, most of us, do it because of our parents. We are not taught to become inviduals but to fit into the society and be like everyoneelse that is why you find some parents comparing their children to other children. We find it hard to develop in basic things that help our society but put a computer in front of some Nigerians and they will turn it into a fraud and Facebook affair instead of doing research on better things. Put a married man in the midst of women ranging from age 25 and above and they will be fighting for him.

  12. Congrats Agbani. And to the person comparing her with Geneieve, there is no basis for comparism. That Geneieve is without a degree doesn't make her inferior. Don't judge by degree cos she is not complaining to you

    1. Nigerians are narrow minded. There is a cleaner who just graduated from an ivy league school at the age of 52 or so. Keep limiting yourselves because of age and run to a man's house since that's all you people know how to do.

Tyra banks just completed her masters degree a few months ago and the age of 37 and she makes money more than most of your parents. My dear, allow age and your small mind be detriments to your growth.

  22. Oluchi graudated in 2010...according to an interview she gave in March 2010 .
See Oluchi statement in A: Answer

Q: What's something surprising about you?

A: I'm graduating from college in May from NYU with a bachelor's in leadership and management. I've been going forever, like six years.

Q: What will do you with the degree?

A: I feel like I'm at a transition where I need to figure it out. In the meantime, I just keep living my life and having fun.

Q: Why did you want to go to college?

A: I did it for myself. I did it because I promised my dad I would. I did it for me so when I pick up a newspaper I can understand what they are saying.

  25. Guess what? SHE WAS NOT THE OLDEST IN HER CLASS!! This is the United States. They don't have your kind of mentality that beliefs that once you're old, you can no longer gain admission into uni or attend uni. Here, education is for the young and old. Didn't you hear of the 80 years old man that just graduated this semester or the 50 something from Columbia Uni that took 14 years. But guess what? They did it.

  32. Lmao Nigerians sha! Anon 2:30 biko in North America 'Major' refers to ur area of specialty in an undergraduate level. Stop with ur ITK while u are ahead...coz that was a very dumb comment disguised to look intelligent, HAhahaa

  45. Congrats ladies.
Here in the US it doesn't matter what age you graduate from college the most important thing is getting that degree and what you make out of it. Ignore the fickle minded dude with the shallow comment. He needs to get a life and very fast for that matter.

  51. Omo, Naija folks, some of una are so uneducated you don't even know it. When I got my BA the oldest in my graduating class was 55 years old. If Naija ppl can just think beyond the box, Naija go progress. Make some of yall here stop asking the mumu question of "who graduates at 30 yrs old"?

    ReplyDelete
  52. At the person complaining about age at graduation. In Nigeria you graduate early without any achievements and you spend the next 2-3 decades or eternity in the underachievement bucket. Agbani has what most would never have - education, money, a title, world travels etc all by age 30. The whole package abeg. Make una leave my rivers sister alone. I am so happy I dont read sexcapades about her. No wonder, she dey jack her book well well. You don try.

  53. Good for Agbani and Oluchi. I bet Ojy will now want to go back to school.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Tyra banks has a master degree ????......... are you joking or for real . SHe went and got a diploma from Havard , which was a 3weeks program for about 2years making it 6weeks of classwork in the 2 years...... Thats hardly called a bachelous degree not to talk of Masters.
Anyone can go to Havarad for that course , it will just put a hole in your pocket for 33,000 usd .. All na money , do you think they is pass or fail in that class...hehehe

Anyway Good luck to Ms Agbani and Oluchi , better later than never
