Armed Robbers Invade Olabisi Onabanjo University

Armed robbers this morning invaded the Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ogun state, robbing several people and killing at least one person.

The robbers, who operated in two buses and a car, targeted Oceanic bank, other banks and businesses in the University premises. They operated for almost an hour and left several people injured before they left.

  12. So my question here is why do people who live in Nigeria think its okay to make fun of us in Diaspora by saying they are making more money blah blah blah. They all say u better come back home like Nigeria is not a hell of a place to be in. What will make me move back home when even my children are not safe in their schools? Everyday na armed robber stories we dey here. I experienced this when i visited a few years back on Allen Avenue when these robbers took the whole neighborhood hostage shooting sporadically with no regard for human life.

With so much going wrong in the country, we only get to see our artiste who have potentials to shake the government only buying cars, putting tattoos on their back, sayin they are Oliver twist or acting nude. Where are the Fela's of this useless generation.I weep for this world!

  20. Armed robbers in Nigeria are like rats/mice. They are very desperate and will do anything to get what they want. Rats(eat through wood etc just to get food) Robbers(harm people just to get money/properties). I hate them all.

  24. It's rather heart- breaking to see the school I attended in the news for a matter such as this.
@ galore should get his/her facts right before making insinuations...except he/she is privy to the whole act.
The dynamics of the whole situation cancels out really. The school's permanent campus is outta town to like 10kms, and a further 5-6kms from it's gate to the school buildings. Only security measure in place are 2 men at the gate with batons, not even a taser. Meanwhile, the school plays host to at least 8 fully operational banks.
There are fewer students in that school nowadays and this is not how they roll.
In the face of difficulty, I make bold to say that Olabisi Onabanjo University students though sheer determination have come out tops, positively affecting their professions all over the place.
Sadly these students lost their school fees and other substantial payments to the robbers. The emotional trauma I heard is very high as most of them are scared to death to return to school for classes.
Prominent among who was killed was a restaurant operator and photographer who I hear was outside shouting 'Jesus, the blood of Jesus etc' at the top of their lungs.
