Photos: Abuja residents queue up to buy cooking gas

After queuing to buy petrol, kerosene and in some cases Diesel, Nigerians in Abuja are now queuing up to buy cooking gas. The price of the essential commodity has skyrocketed from N3000 to N5,500 in the last two weeks. Another photo after the cut...

  5. The reason for the hike in price is due to the prioritising of aviation fuel, there was scarcity of aviation fuel and producers shifted their focus to making it available thereby making gas unavailable.

  14. I just bought a cylinder too in Lagos for N5,500 and I am aware that there has been a vessel carrying 13,000 of LPG as we speak on the high sea but priority is being given only to vessels carrying petrol and diesel to offload. Please ooooo.... those who have the ears of the people in charge should ask thme to allow this vessel discharge asap. There shouldn't be any scarcity of cut throat price for cooking gas!!!!!
