The Japanese multimillionaire who promised coach Samson Siasia and his boys a huge amount of money if they win Gold, Silver or Bronze in the football event at Rio has fulfilled his promise.

He presented a $190k cheque to Mikel Obi and $200k cheque to Samson Siasia, a total of $390k. So nice of him!

Federal government alerts Nigerians of fake anti-malaria drug in circulation

The Federal Government has alerted Nigerians of two confirmed falsified versions of Quinine Sulphate in circulation. Quinine sulphate is used in the treatment of Malaria.  A statement signed by the Director, Media and Public Relations of the Ministry of Health, Boade Akinola, states that the two falsified drugs contain zero active pharmaceutical ingredients. The statement added that the drugs are majorly being circulated in West and Central Africa, particularly in Cameroon and Democratic Republic of Congo.

Ebonyi state gov suspends commissioner

Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, has suspended with immediate effect the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Matters and Rural Development in the state, Samuel Okoronkwo. Umahi announced Okoronkwo's suspension today while declaring open the ITF programme in Abakaliki. He however did not state the reason for the suspension.  He said that his administration would not tolerate any action that would take the state back to the dark ages.
