Photos: Families left homeless after their houses are destroyed by the Lagos state government

Some families have been left homeless after their homes located between the Lagos Business school and the Abraham Adesanya Estate Ajah in Lagos state were allegedly destroyed on the orders of the state government Friday. Caterpillars were sent in to pull down the structures Friday evening. Some of the families are currently stranded as they have no where to move their belongings to. See more photos after the cut...

  3. Phew! Quite unfortunate.
And prior to election, they'll appear to have the masses at heart and after election they feel that can't coexist with the people that voted them in.

  5. LINDA, I SPEAK FOR PROPER URBAN PLANNING AND PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT IN ANY COUNTRY. NO PEOPLE OF ANY COUNTRY ARE AS LAWLESS AS NIGERIANS WHEN IT COMES TO DOING THING LEGALLY, THEY BUY LAND ANYHOW FROM ANYHOW PEOPLE , WHO DELIBERATELY DISOBEY THE LAW OF THE LAND ON PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT. HOUSES ARE BUILT WITHOUT APPROVALS, LANDS ARE ACQUIRED WITHOUT PROPER CHECKS. I GIVE MY COMPANY AS AN EXAMPLE, WE NEEDED SOME LARGE EXPANSE OF LAND FOR A PROJECT, THE LAND OWNERS LIED THAT, THE LAND IS NOT WITHIN GOVERNMENT LAND, WE WENT FOR LAND INFORMATION AND FOUND OUT THEY WERE NOT TELLING THE TRUTH, THEREFORE, WE INVITED THEM TO COME WITH US TO THE GOVERNMENT TO CLEAR THE MATTER, THIS DONE, WE PAID BOTH THE GOVERNMENT AND THE TRADITIONAL LAND OWNERS, SIKENA. NO GOVERNMENT, NOR TRADITIONAL OMO ONILE CAN COME NEAR THE SAID LAND AGAIN. PEOPLE SHOULD LEARN TO DO THE RIGHT THING BEFORE ANY PAYMENT TO ANYONE INCLUDING ALL THESE FAKE OLORI EBI AND THE FAKE KABIYESIs.

I don't understand the logic behind this demolition. We are in recession and all the government could think about is to inflate people with this kind of hardship. I wipe for my dear country

  26. I am still waiting on the kind of excuse they will come up with this time. BTW, I thought there was a regulatory body that follows up on buildings...meaning they saw these structures from clearing to foundation level. They were waiting patiently for the owner's to waste their hard earned money. Smh

TIME TO IMPLIMENT THE LAW ON NIGERIAN WITH BAD ATTITUDE AND MANNERS TOWARDS THE LAW OF THE STATE AND FEDERAL
