Wayne Rooney suffers bloody injury on his 30th birthday (photos)

Today is Wayne Rooney's birthday (30) but opponents don't care. He cut his scalp in a clash of heads with Manchester City's captain, Vincent Kompany. Referee Mark Clattenburg ordered him off the pitch with blood gushing from the cut down the side of his head and on to his neck. United medics wiped away the blood on the touchline and then used a staple gun to stem the flow of bleeding. More pics after the cut...
