Photo of policeman and the man who tried to stab him goes viral

A North Carolina policeman shared a Facebook photo showing his run-in with a man who tried to stab him last year. Raleigh Police Officer JD Boyd took to Facebook after reuniting with a former suspect who nearly killed him, posting an image of both of them together smiling with a message.
"Almost a year ago this man and I were involved in a major altercation where he tried to stab me in the head and I nearly shot him. Today we ran into each other again and I learned that after his time in prison and some help from probation he now has a full time job and has another son on the way that will be here in November.

I was glad it ended well for us both that day and I am ecstatic now to learn that he has turned his life around and we can embrace as friends".
"No one is ever lost forever and as long as you continue to work to be a better version of yourself than you were yesterday things will work out eventually".

  9. These story types convey the wrong impression of there being a war on police in the US. The statistics tell a different story as there has been 18 officers shot and killed in the line of duty in 2015. The deaths are indeed tragic, as no one should lose their lives over the course of performing their jobs, but they are very low in a country of 300 million plus. By comparison, 704 people have been killed so far in 2015 in the US by police; unarmed black men are seven times more likely to be shot and killed by them. You tell me. Who's shooting who? Good PR is great for celebrities looking to make millions from public adoration. But it also misinforms when it masks serious problems like the trigger happy fingers of those who are suposed to protect and serve all of the public.
