Buhari meets with reps of Min of Transport, queries diversion of foreign loans for rail project

President Buhari and his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo met with officials from the Transport and National Population Commission at The Presidential Villa, Abuja today. He queried the diversion of $600m from a $1 billion loan collected from the Chinese Exim Bank meant to be used for the construction of a standard gauge rail line linking Lagos to Kano.

President Buhari expressed his displeasure at the development when he met with representatives of the Ministry of Transport at the state house Abuja earlier today.
“I hope that due process was followed before such diversions were carried out. Taking money from one project to another has to be done properly,” he said

  20. It's sad no one commented on the diversion of $600million. I'm waiting to hear the verdict on the cabals. And progress on the project that will bring lots of development. Imagine what rail from Lagos to Kano would do to improve business and transporting goods and peolple.

  22. thank God for giving us this change , Buhari you are too much ... i was at the filing station yesterday and had a lil chat with the petrol attendant and all he said was he misses those days of serious fuel scarcity where they charge 500 naria extra on jerri cans and cars , and i told him you people are the bad ones that supported jonathans administration and i took a deep breathe and thanked God for making us have a free and fair election, GEJ having a second term would have messed up our country like a shithole.A loan of 1 billion collected and 600 million diverted elsewhere. Baba please probe anyone involved , gradually we will get there ,now we have a sane govt. and sane people wanting to work for a better nigeria.
