Huawei Launches P8 Flagship Phone amidst Fanfare

Huawei has launched its newest flagship phone, the Huawei P8, the successor to the very well received 2014 flagship, theAscend P7 smartphone. The event took place at the swanky 3rd floor technology centre of the Huawei Head office at the Oriental Hotel building 2.

The Huawei P8 is a unibody aluminum mobile telephone and from first view, the P8 looks even sleeker than last year’s flagship, a feat which seemed impossible to achieve at the time of review of the P7. The 5.2-inch IPS screen is almost bezel-free with a resolution of 1,920 x 1080 pixels, and an unbelievable thickness of 6.4mm, making it thinner than virtually other rivals in its category.

While the P8 is not completely waterproof, by design, it will be protected against spills, humidity, splashes, and sweat.

To deliver a butter-smooth user experience and to take full advantage of the latest android lollipop 5.0, the P8 is powered by the Kirin 930 64-bit processor, which also offers lower power consumption thanks to the big-little processor setup.

There is also a proprietary feature to help in finding a misplaced phone quicker. Huawei calls it“voice wake up”, meaning a user can query the device and ask “Where are you?” or some other phrase, and the phone will respond, saying, “I’m here,” and play music until it is found.

So the Huawei P8 responds to commands even when the screen is off.

Not surprisingly, the P8 was recently voted as the best consumer Smart Phone by The European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA).

If the excitement and comments from the product launch are anything to go by, the Huawei P8 will certainly replicate the successes and attending accolades it has so far enjoyed in Europe, right here in Nigeria, one of Huawei’s fastest growing markets on the continent.

  7. The chinese guy's name is House..haha...the first lady's name is shade.
Huawei treats its employees like trash...you have over 1000 chinese employees working in that building and less than 500 Nigerian full staff.
Nigerian govt wont do anything about it...wonder whar labour laws says about ratio of foreign to local employees in a company.
immigration and interior have been bribed. BUHARI SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS MATTER.
