Actor Derek Luke defends marrying a hispanic woman

Actor Derek Luke has been married to Sophia Adella Luke since 1998 and they have two children. For years, Derek has been criticized for marrying outside his race and recently he decided to address the issue. Below is what he wrote on instagram...
"I never usually entertain the opinions of others because everyone is entitled to their own opinion. (Positive or Negative). But we're in the year of 2015 & when should it be a "problem" to date outside of your race? Why is that an issue again? I'm doing the unusual & going through my comments & the comments I see about my wife being another race is bugging me out. Who one chooses to date is that persons business.
Instead of focusing on (Happiness) & (pure Love) for some reason some folks are still focused on (Color). Doesn't make any sense to me. But I guess that's the ignorance of others. My wife may not be Black but she is mine. And she's mine with a heart of gold. People are so quick to judge but can't even distinguish the difference of another's race. Sophia Luke is Hispanic. She's not white, she's not black, she's not Chinese, she's Hispanic. And she's mine!!

    He shouldn't be upset when a black man isn't interested in his daughters, nieces etc because they aren't white enough. It is important to have your best interest at heart because no other race will have it for you. You don't see famous/rich Asians, Italians, Iranians, Indians, latinas marrying out of their race. Those are all some of the most successful races in the world. When they do marry outside it is a rarity. Blacks are constantly being disrespected and looked down upon for many reasons, one being that the lack of confidence they have in themselves to marry another person of the same race. It is a double standard a white man marries a black woman and he is viewed as adventurous, a black man is viewed as lacking self esteem and self worth. That is why whites always insult blacks knowing there are no repercussions I mean how can a race that cant even see the beauty in each other band together to right together. Unu should keep proving the white man right, that regardless of your accomplishments they are still superior.
