Freky
Andrew-Essien says she's been stranded in Ghana for two days now because operators of Ghanaian airline, Fly Africa, out-rightly
told her it's against their
company policy to fly anyone in a wheelchair. This is so wrong on all
levels. Continue for more...
How cruel??
ReplyDelete~album drops 8th June~

ReplyDeleteMust she fly Africa World anyways?
Why not Arik, Aero or even Medview.. I'm sure at least one of the three Nigerian airlines would fly a passenger on wheel chair...
<< LIB Addict >>
Ode, One can deduce she is flying from one part of Ghana to another. Do those Nigerian airlines you suggested fly within Ghana?
DeleteOk it is their law so that is it.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry u will soon end ur life on wheel chair so u can knw how it feels to be in dat position. Mumu
DeleteSome people that comment on this blog have IQ less than that of chimpanzees.

ReplyDeleteIts time to sue
ReplyDeleteShe could sue, but how did she get in in the first place?
ReplyDeleteGhana just dey overdo things. What could be their reasons, how d she get to Ghana?
ReplyDeleteLawsuit . Gbam
ReplyDeleteThis is discrimination, she has rights no matter what her physical disability is. If this true, I think Ghana has good human right activist who can stand against this, people with disability are been discriminated against in the society and now organisations want to do the same? not even Air transport organisations, this is totally unacceptable. For the main time, I will advice the woman to go ahead and fly Arik or another airline, but this matter needs legal intervention, it must not be over looked.
ReplyDeleteThis is soooo ooooo wrong! The airline must lift her. It's not like she's on oxygen or visibly ill. What nonsense?
ReplyDeleteNow this is the highest level of discrimination...
ReplyDeleteWhat a world we live in...
Now this is the highest level of discrimination...
ReplyDeleteWhat a world we live in...
I knew it attracts extra charges flying passengers on wheel chairs, maybe she didn't notify them of her condition before procuring their ticket
ReplyDeleteTHEY ARE STUPID ND A PETITION NEEDS TO BE TAKEN AGAINST THEM
ReplyDeleteThis isn't fair at all

ReplyDeleteThe reason why whites believe the black race does not have the traits to run a civilised society. We r still way too backward
ReplyDeleteThis is totally stupid! No other airline in ghana
ReplyDeleteShe should suit them for discrimination. Let them tell the court while they are operating a discrimination policy.
ReplyDeleteSorry dear it's not suit but sue
DeleteIt's crazy and annoying
ReplyDeleteThis is a reflection of how backward they are<for Christ sake are those operators still living in stone age?with medieval policies? this is a disgrace to Africa to have a so called airline operating with these weird policies it is unheard of.
ReplyDeleteWhat rubbish is this stupid airline talking about, poor woman..Can someone investigate this please.I wish i had a private jet right now,I would definitely send my pilot to go pick her up .."thinking" Lord Fix This Please.
ReplyDeleteThis is not fair @ all
ReplyDeleteThe airline should be called to order
For God shake is there any difference in between someone on the wheel chair and someone moving with is leg,we were both created by God.When does disability turns to this even in Africa.Well madam please don't be sad don't even border to sue them focus on God i believe God with you that your situation can still change. He said in his word that no impossibility in him so therefore it is a settled case. Please be happy and enjoy life.I care about you.

ReplyDeleteWhoever made that policy will use wheelchair, what rubbish is that, this is not about discrimination, they are saying indirectly that the person is not meant to be alive, please is there no human right agencies in Ghana or kindly broadcast this till it get to Buhari or who can correct this rubbish stupid policies
ReplyDeleteEveryone should boycott the airline
ReplyDelete#BOYCOTTFLYAFRICA
I use a wheelchair and I fly a lot. Generally I am accommodated. Ghana is horrible though. Worst place I have flown through is Accra. You are segregated from other passengers and if you are flying with friends that can be tough. In Africa it is important never to make any assumptions. You have to let the airline know that you are a wheelchair passenger when buying your ticket and ensure they include it with your booking. This is for peace of mind. It is frustrating and annoying and depressing to have to be in a wheelchair and so in my case I have to ensure that my journey will be smooth before I take off otherwise...I was once carried off the plane in Nairobi. I didn't mind because they were soooo nice to me.
ReplyDeleteI wish we could be like the UK or USA - but we have a looooong way to go. Even getting into the bank in Nigeria is impossible cos wheelchairs can't fit into the security doors. I insist and raise hell and either get attended to outside in my car or they find another way for me to get in...
It is TOUGH. the society here believes that if you have a disability - you might as well die because there is no place for you. No step free access, disabled parking, lifts, disabled toilets etc.
I feel bad for this girl she just has to take a deep breath and suck it in and quickly find a way home - even if it is a bus - to keep her sanity. She can think about legal action when she gets home.

ReplyDeleteThere is God ooooooooooooooooo
ReplyDeletethere is God ooooooooooooooo
ReplyDeleteWhen our organisation (Centre for Citizens with Disabilities) were calling for the past Nigeria government to sign the disability bill into law, most media outlets didn't take us serious. Because Nigeria government treat persons with disabilities with disdan, any country can do the same against Nigeria PWDs. Its unfortunate. Ghana has a disability law, she should contact disability rights groups in Ghana for support.
ReplyDeleteGod is watching
ReplyDeleteWAIT OOO NA COMMON GHANA DE DO DS? THATS Y FLOOD WANNA FINISH THEM. THEY NEVER SEE SOMETHING. AND WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE AIRLINE? SUCH AIRLINE SHOULD BE SUED
