What do y'all think about the lady who bared her boobs at Cultural day?

A student of Rivers State University of Science and Technology this past Saturday bared her bare boobs during the school's Cultural Day. The pic went viral on Saturday and till today, people are still talking about it. Many think she went too far. But if you're depicting a culture, shouldn't you go all the way? Thoughts?

  75. Linda it's RSUST dat had their cultural day not UNIPORT huny. It's d tradition of sme parts of Rivers State, like Okrika and Kalabari. It marks d transition of the young girls into womanhood. Am from Okrika myself and witnessed a lot of these in the 90's. I hear sme families still Mke their young girls do it. Buh if asked, I think it shud b abolished, we re no longer in d stone age. As for ds young woman, I think she's jst trying to be relevant but doing it the wrong way. I can't bare my boobs to d world, especially knowing how effective the social media has become. More than 90% of the young men in Ph have seen the uncensored copy of this pix, wit a clear view of her face. What's d possibility she won't b jeered at while walking on d streets of Ph...She did way too much.

  77. This is a well known Kalabari/Ijaw tradition for unmarried women. As a kid, i used to see pictures of such from my mum's photo album. It is culture and i have learned to respect it. Though i cringed initially. This tradition was very popular in Kalabari/Ijaw until the 80's. Personally, i have never seen a live display topless. It is only through pictures.
Speaking of morals, not until we imbibed western culture, women and mothers moving around topless was very common in our society. infact, some tribes in east africa still practice this as a norm. Rememebr the reed dance in swaziland?, that attracts thousands of caucasians?. i feel we should be proud of our bodies. now is it right to go topless in the city?. hell no!. i mean it should be done in an environment were it is protected.
As it stands, if the lady in the pic was to strut topless in the kalabari/ijaw kingdom, no one would even make fun of her.
