Pres. Buhari yesterday Friday May 29th
left some African leaders and other guests who had moved with him from the
Eagles Square to the new Banquet
Hall of the Presidential Villa to celebrate his inauguration, midway into
the programme to attend Jumat service. When he didn't return after many hours, organizers of the event had to invite VP Osinbajo to make
remarks on behalf of Buhari.
Osinbajo, in his remarks, apologised to the guests for the President’s absence. He explained that he left in order to take part in Jumat prayers. The President did not return to the venue before the programme ended. The vice-president thanked the African leaders for attending the inauguration.“On behalf of the people of
Nigeria and most especially on behalf of the President, I thank you and
wish you safe journey back home.”
The vice-president later saw the African leaders off on behalf of the President before being driven away in his official car."

ReplyDeleteMumu..... the source of the article is Punch Newspapers and not Linda. stop taking your frustrations out on her. Buhari should know better than this. How do you leave Foreign dignitaries hanging because you are going to the mosque? So what happened after prayers? Big diplomatic gaffe...
DeleteUr a fool,i bet u dnt av a religion.
DeleteForeign dignitaries ain't God...Mr follow follow
DeleteSo foreign dignitaries are more important Dan your God ehn? Dis isn't just a prayer it's a jumat prayer once it's Gone it can never be recovered
DeleteThe medication he was given in UK to keep him on his feet for this occassion don dey ware off. Old man needs his rest. #youngboinono#
DeleteAll these idiots sha, pls if u see what's bad say so can we stop all this please like we where born yesterday. The jumat prayers doesn't take up2 30min pls why didn't he return? Blinded fools!
DeleteGod always come first
ReplyDeleteGod is the single most important being. He should be worshipped.
ReplyDeleteGod 1st in everything we do. He did d right thing. Please God rather than men!
ReplyDeleteYou think he is like your clueless Gej that has time for frivolities. He is a disciplined Man,time for prayer is time for prayer. Moreover the Inauguration don finish, what are those people still doing there? They won't go back to their country?Abeg make Una free the man.He reminds me of my father.Very Strict and Meticulous
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing wrong with d president leaving for prayers, it is not a big deal! As he is a muslim, prayers are compulsory in islam and must be observed at the right time.
ReplyDeleteHe needs to pray,Cuase he knows the task ahead is not easy.Only one day in office, people like you Linda have already started.Na wa.I am an Igbo girl but I am not tribalistic,I have always liked Buhari, and I know he will do well.GOD help him.
ReplyDeleteSharrap you r not an Igbo girl, would it have also been ok if gej left foreign dignitaries to attend church? Double standards!
DeleteMy fellow Igbo sister..: well said
DeleteYes! GOD FIRST. HRS A MUSLIM, HIS RELIGIOUS VALUES SHOULD BE HONORED ASWELL! WELL SAID MY SISTER FROM ANOTHER TRIBE.
DeletePlease help me ask all this fools oo, if it was gej they'll run their spelling rotten mouth
DeleteHausa nor dey joke with der prayers
ReplyDeleteThe comments aren't what you hoped for eh linda? You expected people to bash him for going to pray? You be joker.
ReplyDeleteHe needed to rest, he isn't that young you know.
ReplyDeleteAny God who needs d reverence and worship of mortals is NO GOD.
ReplyDeleteGo and sack him mumu's. God first na him give PMB the power to be president. PRAY FIRST B4 ATTENDING TO ANY ONE
ReplyDeleteAm surprised at the age and time some people will be religiously based because he stood up to pray.......heads down.....Crowd mentality
ReplyDeleteAs in buhari is out of this world wtf I love him o jade since we Christians don't take our religion serious he is showing us DAT what ever u do put God first gboza ur excellency
ReplyDeleteMaybe you are the one who doesn't take your religious practice serious. Always speak/write for yourself.
Delete<< LIB Addict >>
I dnt understand this our presido .. was he the only muslim in that hall .. some other muslims left thier countries, homes etc to honour his invitation and he felt it was best to leave them behind.. i call it selfishness
ReplyDeleteAnd I call ur comment Foolishness. Step up in reasoning...mbok
DeleteLeave dem behind? Better get ur facts right he didn't leave dere alone some people followed him to d mosque(others who also put GOD first)
DeleteWhile it may seem harmless and even right to leave your guests to attend to your prayers, he has set a precedence that will reverberate all over Nigeria with Muslims and Christains doing same. But lets not forget, Nigeria is a secular state.
ReplyDeleteOloyinbo...nobody is disputing d fact
DeletePrayer is the key.
ReplyDeleteShame shame shame that's all I can say. All the mumus that voted this man will continue to make excuses for him until they run out of it.
ReplyDeleteNigeria, A country with two moralities. If it was GEJ that did this, we would abuse him to high heavens. Now it is GMB, we are making excuses for him. Anyway, he is in his honeymoon stage. Very soon, he will know the true nature of Nigerians.
ReplyDeleteThere's no doubt that most people who would criticize PMB for this act are christians. Christians often take their allegiance to God for granted, and choose when to put God first. Sorry, it is not so in Islam. In Islam, allegiance to God is no.1, anywhere anytime. So deal with that.
ReplyDeleteAll haters of Buhari who are desperately wishing he fails and are desperately searching for an occassion to say "Aha! he's not different from others.." should be prepared to wound themselves with hypertension for the following reasons:
ReplyDelete1. Buhari is not here to please his haters. They can hate themselves to hypertension for all he cares.
2. The grace and prayers upon Buhari's life and administration is just too much that the hand of God is on his side to succeed. Whoever God has blessed, no man can curse.
3. Haters will continue to live in self-inflicted misery even when everybody lives in splendour. Hate blinds from seeing any good.
He has said it that "he belongs to everybody and he belongs to nobody.the guest are included. He went to seek the face of God. its very important.
ReplyDeleteAll these novest commenting here did you people go to school at all. Ah ah how can you break protocol because you want to pray. Remember Nigeria is a secular state . Protocol must be followed please. We all pray to GOd but things should be done tightly pls.
ReplyDeleteIf its GEJ, all you punk fake fools will say he is clueless and that he doesnt know when to work and when to pray.. Make we dey look. Now, this muslims are justifying his foolish actions
ReplyDeleteI don't see anything wrong in wat de presidents Muslims don't joke with their prayer and perhaps he had to thank God for a successful inauguration
ReplyDeleteAv never seen a muslim dat ignores is prayer time just to be with friends.....The president had to pray...simple....And he has a vice........So no big deal
ReplyDeleteMoye says so via BB Passport...Courtesy LIB......
Do people try to read main article first and all the comments before placing their own comments for a balanced view? Most people comment the moment they read the headlines.
ReplyDeleteHow I wish Nigerians will be more enlightened and focused!! You have started condemning less than one day President instead of praying for him. Dont u know that his success is the success of the country, which will reflect on your life? We complained about everything and we do nothing about it, only to come on blogs and be making unnecessary comments!! Why do u have the attitude of let's wait and see? Why dont u use that attitude to go on your knees and call on God to direct him when he is taking decisions about your life!!! You have this attitude becos GEJ didnt win, GEJ has wealth for his next generation to come........hmmm..... let us think and move this country forward on our knees......

ReplyDeleteHope when he is a meeting with the likes of president Obama and is time for jumat services he will walk away not communicating to them to execuse him. Lol. Church or mosque doesn't make u a true Christian your intentions and action are what counts, please people when you see the truth u say it not becos of who is involve but because it is the truth
ReplyDelete@wilheminna 12:25, u jst spat out nonsense..wen u put God first, evry oda tin goes smoothly in ur life besides y does he have d vp dere (delegation don start o).besides u want him 2 kip God waiting becos of mere mortal man abi..mtchwweeww ekwensu..
ReplyDeleteTo keep God waiting??? Can you hear yourself. Is there any where it's writing that God human keepss God waiting in your bible or koran??? God is every where ok. Their jumat is max 30min prayer and not hours! Like Nigeria prays even when committing crime. Not surprise but God is still God.
DeleteThe stupid excuses that people are putting forward to this rude action of Buhari's shows me how blinded people have become in the process of supporting him. My dears, the whole of you Buhari's supporters should get your mouths ready to constantly come to his defence because there will be a lot of blunders like it in the next several years. if it was GEJ that did this, the insults and would have put some faint hearted to coma. What i always say is that GEJ will be vindicated in the next 6months(watch out for how PMB will handle Boko Haram)
ReplyDeletejust tell me who organises events on sunday dduring church servic time ???
ReplyDeleteYet people will defend him. With International dignitaries and you left without excuse and did not return for the rest of the event. Does it show respect or regards? How does he expect to invite them next time and they will honour? We know God first but Jumat prayer last for maximum 30 min. Well, Nigerians are yet to see anything. Cheers. Don Casey.
ReplyDeletedont see anytin wrong with it, just dat people are watching and looking nfor lopholes
ReplyDeleteWat a rude host, no be crime to pray but he shld have returned, kai na memory loss sha make dem no blame am it comes with the age
ReplyDeleteAMAZING GRACE!. WHAT ERKS ME HERE IS THE FACT THAT IF IT WERE GEJ THAT DID THIS,WE WOULD DEFINITELY NOT HEAR THE LAST OF FOR YEARS. NOW IT IS OK BECAUSE OF THE PERSON INVOLVED. GOD WILL JUDGE ALL AT THE END OF THE DAY. THANKS
ReplyDeleteOld age don start oh!!! Senility in place. You mean he ignored all the African leaders? Which kind prayer wet pass hosting people that took all the pains to be with you on this great day to celebrate democracy???
ReplyDeleteSai baba
ReplyDeleteOk payers? Only God will judge
ReplyDeleteHELLO EVERY ONE, TO BE HONEST WITH YOU GUYS, THERE'S NO PROBLEM WITH WHAT HE HAS DONE HAS REGARDS HIS BELIEVE, BUT ONE THING HE HAS TO KNOW IS THAT HE'S NOT JUST GOVERNING A MUSLIM COUNTRY, WE HAVE CHRISTIANS AS WELL, FROM THE VERY INSTANTS HE WAS SWORN IN HE BECAME AN ORIGIN OF ALL RELIGIONS IN NIGERIA, HE HAS TO REMEMBER THAT AS WELL............LONG LIVE NIGERIANS, LONG LIVE OUR PRESIDENT, LONG LIVE NIGERIA, LONG LIVE THIS WORLD.....
ReplyDeleteI don't see anything 'disrespectful' or 'rude in what he did. We nigerians can read negative meanings 2 things ehn! If he was a christian, and sworn in on a Sunday I believe same thing would have happened by going 2 church. God 1st.
ReplyDeleteLet's not allow sand to enter our eyes and pretend to be blind even if u don't attend service that day if ur heart is Good God understands .our new president no doubt might be good but country come first before any other thing but God is the ultimate.from what I observed our president has pride issues he needs to learn how to run a state this men and women left all they have to do to celebrate with u courtesy demands u honor them till the end no matter what . Some of u did not notice this on that day of swearing in he came in with his vice who promptly went to greet this former heads of state and foreign heads ur president went and sat down without greeting anyone until Obj went and spoke to him b4 he stood up and went to greet them if he continues. Like this we I'll hv foreign relationship problem. All the same long live Nigeria and May he reap the Good he sowed as well as the bad
