Photos: Woman pretending to be pregnant caught and stripped of her fake bump in Lekki

My goodness! Some people have no fear of God. A couple was caught at Ebeano supermarket in Lekki this evening May 16th, using fake pregnancy to induce sympathy and make shoppers part with their hard earned money.

They were caught after they approached a man and asked him for money, telling him they had no dime on them. The man saw a female friend at the supermarket and told her he wasn't convinced the woman was pregnant with the way she looked. He asked his friend to use her feminine eye to look at the supposed pregnant. Continue to read the rest of the story...

The couple were then asked to take as much foodstuff they wanted from the supermarket. The man's female friend then tried to feel the woman's stomach and the woman immediately jumpd. So she took the 'pregnant' woman to a corner and asked her if she was really pregnant and she said yes. Not convinced, the lady asked if she could feel the stomach and the woman panicked. But the lady managed to feel it and it was all cloth and she alerted her male friend. The woman was then forced to show the fake bump.

A crowd gathered and not surprisingly, quite a number of them said they had given the couple money at one point or the other. They were later handed over to the police. Photos below..

***Few weeks ago I was at a friend's office when this lady walked in. All smiles and very cheerful. She handed my friend the plastic bag she was holding and they had a brief chit chat session and the lady left.
Apparently their husbands are very good friends and she came to drop off something from her husband to my friend's husband.

After the lady left, my friend proceeds to tell me the lady's story-

So she's been married for 15 years and is yet to have a child. They have been trying but it's not just happening. I overheard the lady tell my friend that she just rushed out of church to bring her the package and that she was heading back there.......click my name to read more and share your thoughts.

  25. If employment rate is high would someone stoop so low to fake a pregnancy? Nigeria is paralyzed and doomed. I can bet you Buhari can't solve one/hundredth of that country's problem cos its super ruined in all facets. The highest he can do in his 8yrs rule is to create a solid foundation that one stupid GEJ incarnate will still take back to 2014 era and crumble. They do anything to survive in that country. Backward ever forward never.

  40. But ofcourse we all know most of these people who beg fake their ailment or condition. But what i still dont understand in this story is the intent of that woman who was trying to prove a point? If you dont believe her, then dont give her your money. Whats with going through the stress of exposing her and handing her to the police? Madam, can u say u have never gained anything from someone under false pretense? Can u say u never lied to gain something? Me if i see someone begging and i dont believe them i will just walk pass, whats the point of trying to expose the person? even you linda, havent you lied or faked a situation just to get some cash? Sometimes lets fear God indeed. They didnt steal the foodstuff or anything else, she dressed pregnant and people gave her foodstuff and money(wetin be food? Food na to sheat)and linda ikeji and her CIA friend at the store couldnt have it.

  44. This is why i have stopped giving beggers money. Instead, i will go to orphanage homes and give them money. I saw in a movie where a ritualist sent fake beggers to go to the road and beg for money and once you give them money, your wealth will go down because it is used for ritual. From that day, i stopped giving beggers money. Useless country. Smtchew

  45. I hate it when i see a begger that is not blind or crippled in any form begging for money. It is total laziness. Your mates are hustling and carrying cement. It is we Nigerians that encourage begging because as we keep giving beggers money, they will keep getting lazy. Nobody will want to hustle.

    ReplyDelete
  46. How can a whole bodied man come to the supermarket with his wife to beg for money? It is mere laziness. Hmmmmmm nawa oo,ds kyn investigation........wait o,if a stranger walks up to u nd asks if she can feel ur tummy, with our modern facility(juju) will u agree. The investigator(the woman) is lucky der was really no baby coz she too cud av been handed to the police for juju plans #mimicking nigerian police(you forcefully touched a pregnant woman's tummy to charm her nd take her baby away spiritually abi) and then linda would be writing a different story. The story could av gone either way.I know it was wrong of them to do but then y do pipol go around poking noses into other pipols businesses. Atleast they didnt force any1 to give and still remain better than alot of pipol in our country who take money forcefully including pipol at high places.

  61. If the time devoted to plotting this act is given to some other moral thought, I bet you, she would be a legitimately made business woman!

Poverty is real in this country but then, poverty starts from the mind! A poverty-ridden mind produces nothing better than the picture we have up there... Nigeria no good" and yet many Millionaires are made almost on daily basis. What do you think is responsible for this? They have refused to:
    Pass
    Over
    Opportunities
    Regularly

Rather, they seize every legitimate opportunity that comes their way. And if such fails to come, they go all out in search of it!

Having said that, I refuse to concur with the conducts of her sleuths. Now that they've had their faces published, the world over as criminals, do you expect them to come out better humans from the Police custody? No! They might just becme worse than we can imagine. God help us.

Same way many people are travelling abroad. People don't want to farm anymore, many states have remained underdeveloped. Nobody wants to come up with creative ideas to better their lives where they are. They are all travelling to Lagos and then some people will come and say Yorubas are lazy, bla bla bla. It is a general phenomenon! Stop blaming the government, take responsibility for your life Nigerians. I'm not a politician neither am I related to any.
