Photos: NAFDAC shuts down Chocolat Royale in Victoria Island

NAFDAC last night shut down popular cafe/restaurant Chocolat Royal on Etim Inyang Crescent, VI. I got the photos last night as it was happening but wanted to find out why it was shut down before writing. I've heard a few reasons but I will leave that out for now until it's been confirmed. More pics after the cut...

  34. Dear Linda, I heard from one of their workers that they use loads of expired products in making their pastries, ice creams and even tea! My source told me this about a Month ago. My source also said they intentionally buy products that have few months of validity when ordering abroad because the manufacturers sell those ones with huge discounts... I wanted to come to you with the news, but I thought it wasn't my business plus you've used my gist in the past without any credit. i also didn't want the news to come back to me, so it was really not about the credit, but my safety because those lebanese don't joke! Trust me! You can contact me for more gist...no, I'l write you.

Ever since Dora left that agency, it has bn as if we don't have fake things around us anymore, now, few days to handing over, they make sure they close down a place big enough to be in d news. Na lie, Mr DG, u r leaving, u should hv made enough money by now n if for any reason, u hv allowed fake drugs or substances to be sold freely in this country, u not your innocent kids, uuuuuuu, will consume it.

  40. they were shutdown becos they had products that were long expired (some since like 5 years) in their coldroom and were using such to make pastries/deserts for customers...

Forget all the propaganda that they are spewing on cool fm

    ReplyDelete
  41. They sell a lot of spoilt pastries,i have bought cake and doughnut a number of times only to get home and it tasted awful

    ReplyDelete
  42. its simple if you had ever partronise or work there whether in cool fm or wazobia or AIM you will understand why NAFDAC arrested and locked up the place bravo NAFDAC that is long overdue.they import expired ingredients and material to produce there foods.even Nigerianinfo said it in there NEWS yesterday that they found some expired products some where in MDs house to be destroyed. my questions are what of the one found in the store dat are currently being use again why the expired products stored in their MDs place, why didnt they destroyed it immediately, why was the product imported in to the country in the first place.that is a blatant lie.am sure the tip off must be from one of their staff bcos like i said every body that are working in that place knows the truth.its scandalous for a brand like chocolat royale to have been using expired products for years.imagine how many live they have use that to affect the health.that place deserve to be locked for life,LINDA YOU KNOW THE TRUTH BEHIND THE CLOSURE INFACT have been waiting if you will not report the closure.many of this so called luxury restaurants have been killing us slowly with expired product used for the foods thats why i preferd my amala and ewedu plus small gbegiri jeje.

  43. Lebanese people are wicked, they come to Nigeria and do all sorts. What they do in Nigeria, Nigerians can't do 1/4 of it in their country. They always say they can bribe their way out.

  51. Poor reporting led to you getting scooped by other sites and readers. Sigh nigerians and lack of proper effort. Its called stating they are only "allegations" only at this point or saying "allegedly". I don't get how you can post entire fake story (davido sister giving birth) but not true one with complete details

  56. It serves Nigerians right. Everything in Lagos is social climbing. Some mothers patronize the place for class. There are many bakers that are far better than Chocolate a Royal but they won't go there. The same thing with some schools in this Lagos that do not have much to offer yet parents keep on paying through their nose just to send a message that my child attends a particular school. God help them.
