She said the marketers subsidy claims reeked of fraud and that the marketers are just out to blackmail Nigerians and make them suffer. She said this while addressing newsmen in Abuja yesterday May 23
"Marketers were asking for N159 billion for exchange rate differentials from the outstanding N200 billion.
There has been so much fraud and scam so I have refused to sign for that money but have agreed that a committee be set up involving the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to verify marketers’ claims. Marketers just want to make Nigerians suffer. I will not pay the N159 billion without verification, Nigerians should not allow themselves to be blackmailed. I will not pay the N159 billion without verification, Nigerians should not allow themselves to be blackmailed"she said
When two elephants fights is the grass that suffer.
ReplyDeleteAnd we are the ones suffering now.
Thank God GEJ time is over, and pls let him go away wit dis he left behind.
DeleteNigerians go survive
DeleteI support her 200%. She called for the removal of fuel subsidies and ignorant Nigerians jumped on the street calling for her head. Nonsense. Serves us right. We want corruption to be destroyed yet we aren't ready make the necessary sacrifice. God bless OkonjoIweala! I pray she doesn't cave into the pressure. Marketers can grind the entire country to a standstill. Nonsense.
DeleteThis Royalpriesthood, there isn't nothing royal or priestly about you. Just commenting for "notice-me". The same you was the one preaching GEJ wit ur life on this platform. Better get a life, mumu!
DeleteI aslo want the subsidy removed. However, the way she and Jonathan went about it was so ridiculous, thus the backlash. This is a democratic society, you don't maje important decisuons like that.
DeleteAnonymous 1:05 God bless you
DeleteOkonjo, I leave you to God. You & your cohorts. Linda take note!
DeleteBefore subsidy can be removed, we must have a a lot of good refineries working in the country and the economy must be better than what we have now
DeleteOk o, God wl c us through
DeleteShe called for subsidy removal and it was ignored, why didnt she resign then??????? It showed she agreed she could continue running & coordinating d economy with such subsidy. Now she has failed woefully!!! Is there anything wrong with resignation for nigerian political office holders??? Especially when u know that what is being done is contravening your principles or ethics woth regards to your career??? Her choice to stay on shows consent,so she should not come crying to us...it is very simple..d same economy which she is coordinating has grinded to a halt and whose fault is it??? Abi na your Papa fault???? Olodo!!!!
DeleteAnd the NLC kept mum in this whole issue. We need a revolution in this country. We citizens should stop taking whatever is thrown at us without complaining.
Delete#TeamBlessed#
Okay me i dont claim to be the most conversant with this issue of subsidy and how it works. But if the government dont wanna pay the gaddamn 200billion subsidy money, then let them increase fuel to 200 or 300 per litre and make it available instead of this deadlock scarcity that is grinding the economy to a halt. Trust me even Nigerians in the diaspora are feeling the pains of our fellow Nigerians back home. Make the gaddamn fuel available for goodness sake.
DeleteNice one..just shine ya eyes well
ReplyDeleteShe is mad.
ReplyDeleteAnd U're an idiot. My only issue is why hadn't she been verifying all this all this time. Why now. But to call her mad shows that U're the typical fool who wants lunch today but doesn't think abt lunch tomorrow or next wk. take several seats. talking like we aren't all suffering together
DeleteThis same foolish woman paid the subsidy claims for six years. If they had won the election, she and jonadaft would have paid, even if they had to borrow to do it. They are deliberately pushing us for voting them out. Publish the names of the marketers and how much you owe them or are the marketers ghosts?
DeleteOooh
ReplyDeleteSure.
ReplyDeleteYou will not pay them abi? Claiming their are fraudulent or blackmailer fine but what about the poor masses? People that Ave been suffering due to this fuel issue? Am very sure you don't know what the masses face becos you ave it all.
ReplyDeleteOloshi oniranu....so shes just knowing oil marketers subsidy claims are fraud. Had she not bn paying them since? God will ask u all for the injustices melted on the ordinary Nigerian citizen
ReplyDeleteHas she not advocated for subsidy removal???
DeleteNice reply Toks...
DeleteI have to agree with U on asking why she hasn't been doing this all this time. Making noise in the 11th hr.
DeleteBTW it's meted and not melted :-)
DeleteOloshi oniranu....so shes just knowing oil marketers subsidy claims are fraud. Had she not bn paying them since? God will ask u all for the injustices melted on the ordinary Nigerian citizen
ReplyDeleteNa today! You and ur Oga Jonathan have been turning a blind eye and using this oil subsidy to make Nigerian criminals billionaires. Why pay #200 billion naira when u can use it to fix d refineries and STOP this whole importation of fuel and oil subsidy bullshit? THIS WHOLE GEJ ADMINISTRATION IS ONE BIG FRAUD!!!!
ReplyDeleteMay 29th can't get here soon enough
Shut your smelling trap, when they tried to remove subsidy in 2012, it was your stupid self and some others who flooded the streets in protest. Now u call their administration fraud. Let us suffer cos we refuse to accept subsidy removal then. Now these marketers wanna rip the govt dry and you are here spewing nonsense from the anus you call a mouth!!!
DeleteI am sure you silly fellow was part of those calling for her head when she said fuel subsidy must be removed. Were you not on the streets of Lagos screaming occupy Nigeria? Now it is the same one being accused by you stupid head of taking subsidy money. Only God will punish you for all your lies.
DeleteNow u know criminals benefit from subsidy, she wanted it entirely removed initially, u made so much noise, now u turn around 2 blame her. Smh 4 u.
DeleteAll of you shut up! I said shut up! Yes they should remove subsidy but you don't make that kind of decision on the first day of a year in a country of 170million people. That wasn't the way to go abput the subsidy removal. So yes! Nigerians had every right to be agitated. They dug their own graves. Mtchew!
DeleteAnonymous 1:51pm, u dey vex oooo
DeleteAnon 1.02 and Anon 12.53... Am sure h guys are one of those silly blinded SS & SE fools who wanted this barbaric, incompetent, foolish and stupid GEJ administration to win continue in office. Firstly, you guys have been shamed and all the menace ends Friday 29th. Back to Mrs Inwela, they made nigerians feel if subsidy was removed, we'll die. They deceived nigerians about what subsidy means, they lied to this nation, am sure they will be jailed. For your information, NNPC imports 70% of nigeria fuel consumption, these foolish cabal get Subsidy from government, go on the sea to buy from NNPC that's if some people even buy, then claim they are the importers. Our refiniry as bad as it is still produce 1/4 of the total consumption, so what are they subsidizing? Mrs Inwela knows that they have been looting nigeria treasuries and now she trying to prove Saint Ngozi. Buhari asked them the meaning of subsidy and they couldn't hive a clear answers. I see them in jail soon..

DeleteAnon 1:51..You should shut up cos you are stupid. How else should dey have done it? Maybe GEJ would have hosted a one week carnival before removing it...Goat! It was a new year and a fresh start wasn't a bad idea but people like you kicked against it..Let us suffer!!!
DeleteSome miscreants on this platform should move to yaba left voluntarily. So freaking what if subsidy was removed, they did not put any plan in place before removing fuel subsidy, was there any publication showing Nigerians how the canal was stealing the country blind? No. They just woke up on the wrong side of the bed and yanked off subsidy. Stupid Okonjo and his ogogoro master should rot in hell. They just made history, negatively.
Deletehe only has a few days left
ReplyDeleteIt's now that she is going that she is verifing.... what were u doing b4 maaa.... just bought 5 liters for 2k5 and my car is malfunctioning... I got to know now that I bought 4 litres petrol mixed with 1 litre kerosene... God help us
ReplyDeleteWhere have you been? Clearly high on hemp otherwise you would have know she has never paid marketers without verification and that is the genesis of how she discovered the subsidy fraud, called for its removal and all of you empty heads went if the rampage screaming occupy Nigeria. Nonsense

ReplyDeletenigerian wey no dey see d future no go know say all dis general don organise demself to be d 1% wey go rule and control everthing in nigeria....if u no know, know now say dem don regroup
ReplyDeleteThe government never wanted this subsidy but the cabals cooked food and paid musicians and the free show at oshodi park was interesting and we all where shouting occupy nigeria and forced GEJ and Ngozi to succumb to our ignorance now we are calling them names. I know GEJ made some mistakes and was very weak as a nigerian president in many sectors of our nation but in this issue of subsidy he is not to be blamed for the outcome cos he cried out when he saw what was going to happen in the future.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I know that Nigerians are so STUPID. When this woman was telling us to REMOVE subsidy that that is where money and corruption if flowing, you people JUMPED on her neck, following paid campaignes (paid by the billionaire oil marketers). Now gbese has burst. You now want her to give into BLACKMAIL. What precedent will that set? if she gives in who is ruling this country? After all if they ever want anything, they will just threaten to quit. We MUST hold out. Can they try this is the USA? Who do they think they are to try and CONTROL the actions of a country. Afterall they need to sell to make money abi? Me I will suffer in the heat for this period. We will see who will win this battle. NAIJA WE MUST STAND.
ReplyDeletePeople like u should just take a dive at the lagoon. Was it not the subsidy remover that made fuel price increase to 97 naira? So wat happened now? All okonjo's family and friends flooded LIB and started saying rubbish. All of u r placed under God's judgment. Ur children's children ll reap this evil u people r sowing.
DeleteYou all be reigning abuses on her, tomorrow you will scream this administration is the most corrupt.
ReplyDeleteIn 2012, she advocated that subsidy be entirely removed, but no you lots ganged up with the opposition sheepishly to scream occupy Nigeria.
Occupynigeria bawo? atleast it was increased to N141 then now what is obtainable? We are buying it at the range of 300 to 500 per litre.
With the huge debt the fg is owing, this subsidy must go. So Nigerians we need to brace up!
Shut up.joor! Foolish human being
DeleteBut you have been paying them all this time. You paid them before and after Sanusi blew the NNPC corruption. Jonathan even directed you to pay them during his campaign and you did. Why are you now forming righteousness? We know you and you cannot deceive us. The Chicken has come home to roost.
ReplyDeleteIf the Marketers are asking for N159 billion for exchange rate differentials from the outstanding N200 billion then she should refund it.
ReplyDeleteSOME OF UR COMENT AGAINST DE MINISTER OF FINANCE MAKE WEEP FOR THE YOUNTH OF THIS COUNTRY. ARE THESE REALLY THE LEADERS OF TOMORROW. PLS DE MINISTER IS RIGHT. GO TO COLLEGE PLS. U GUY ARE TOO IGNORANT

ReplyDeleteIts such a pity that a whole lot of people in this country are short sighted and do not for a start know how to place their priorities right in issues of politics.
If not for the sacred hands of God in this election, all of you who could not see that this administration certainly was ñot taking any ordinary soul anywhere and yet u cast your vote wrongly, would have been getting ready for an eternal mortgage of yourself and that of ur grand children. Let's all pray unceasingly for God to strengthen buhari and his crew, for they have got much task to handle.

ReplyDeleteBastard Bloody Bastard
ReplyDeleteMadam is simply playing to the gallery.. The government is broke and it knows it can't meet its obligations.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the role of pppra.. Is it not to verify claims?
Pushing reconciliation to the CBN is admittance of the failure of its control system..
Please if you are going to reply my post.. Don't insult..

ReplyDeletePlease help me get this to across to Madam Subsidy reeks if fraud. You knew that when you took over. You've known all along what the issues were. Suddenly turning on your cronies now that the music is changing reeks of the same hypocrisy you are known for.
ReplyDeleteIt looks to me like you are trying to reduce the 'damages' you will have to 'pay' when Buhari takes over.
ReplyDeleteingoo hope na only u waka come
I love this woman! Dr. Oknojoo. I pray Nigerians understand dt nothin good comes easy in life! Let's support this woman motive! And reduce oil markerters" suckn 9ja tresury dry.
ReplyDeleteApportioning blames is not the solution to Nigeria's problem,,,,,All we need to do is pray that the incoming administration bring about positive CHANGE.
ReplyDeleteUsing open eye that she will not pay , do they have the money to pay.Wonder whois fooling who.
ReplyDeleteIt is only God that can change dis country.U all should take note.without him, bihari can do nothing. So prayer is the key.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't u jst pay now and verify later. Your job is to tighten d loopholes and reduce d corruption as much as possible. Ppl cant do shit, dese ppl r insensitive to peoples plight and predicament. God bless Nigeria wth great leaders with her interest @ heart..
ReplyDeleteYou re very sick for telling us that you will not pay that money!u and oga jona done see mumu?fools so na now una sabi say na fraudulent act!bastards
ReplyDeleteI weep for the ignorants among us faulting occupy Nigeria, how can an oil producing country be selling petrol at N150/perliter, with a global petrol price of at stable $100/barrel, these so called marketers are thesame people in government under diffrent names, if 2012 should be reverse, the onlything i will add on occupy Nigeria is IMPEACH JONATHAN, occupy nigeria has been the best thing that ever happen to civil servic in Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteMrs Ngozi, for all these years you have been paying the, it is only now that you realise that there is fraud, trying to look innocent, that wont stop GMB from probing you, and if found guilty you must pay back our money ooo, and you must land for kirikiri prison. All these thiefs Kirikiri awaits you.
See, the way God ll bless u heeen! Hmm, am so relieved with just this comment. Those ngozi family and friends, i hope u read this.
DeleteSubsidy was partially removed after the protests. She promised to fix the refineries. Not a single refinery was fixed. If she couldn't fix a refinery from partial removal of subsidy, she would never have fixed anything with full removal. One single cache payment on subsidy is enough to fix the four refineries, why is she not mentioning that? Okonjo is a bastard and a fool. I pray for untimely death on her family for all the untimely death she caused in Nigeria.
