The Federal government has downgraded and declared Asaba Airport in Delta state unsafe for travelers. In a statement released by the Federal Ministry of Aviation today May 5th, the Aviation ministry stated that the airport facility was downgraded and declared unsafe due to the failure of the Delta State government to fix key infrastructure such as undulating runways as well as provision of perimeter fence at the airport as directed by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
“The Federal Government has downgraded the Asaba Airport over the failure of the Delta State government to put in place measures that would guarantee the safety and security of passengers using the airport.” the statement in part reads

ReplyDeletePARENTAL ADVISORY
ReplyDelete***explicit content***
Shame
They built it so they need to query themselves. Isn't it a predictable shame that instead of renovations the airport will be left to rot.
ReplyDeleteAirport wey don dey run since?? Shuooooooo! Happy dwngrading.
ReplyDeleteOkay gud
ReplyDeleteImagine! So, which airport uduaghan dey always land if him travel
ReplyDeleteNice development.
ReplyDeleteThey should also sanction them. Bloody thieves! After paying taxes with your ticket, they'll still come and collect N1000 from you at the airport!! For what?!! Delta government tax!
ReplyDeleteWhere did all the oil money went to
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time coming.... I thought FG was asleep...that airport is ssssoooo dead...nothing working there...to gets flights back frm Asaba na war... What a disgrace! Oil state..
ReplyDeleteSafety first
ReplyDeleteHow come he won man of year! So it's politics
DeleteLobatan!
ReplyDeleteOk o,seen!
ReplyDeleteThat airport is one of the best in Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteIt is by far better than MMA.
The land mass around the airport is expansive, its not cost effective to tar the whole place.
There is sufficient room for expansion which is dependent upon air traffic to Asaba.
Dont jump into conclusions guys. Its not bad at all.

ReplyDeleteAnd yet, the budget was over 80 billion Naira....
ReplyDeleteso glad he is officially stepping down useless man. They said Ibori was a bad man yet he did a lot in 4 years than this idiot did In 8 years. ..
Y'all Remember that it's just a downgrade not shutting down... Normal activities will still be going on, just the type of aircrafts using their runway will be changed... smaller aircrafts like HS, Antonov, TB9, Amphibians, Gulf streams can still make use of the runway, but the big boys like Boeings wnt make use of the airport... if a boeing 737 can't takeoff and land in the airport, then u knw that commercial purposes will be crippled somehow
ReplyDeleteAt least they called their attention to it fast. To be fore-warned is to be fore-harmed
ReplyDeleteHmmm hope it has nothing to do with Uduaghan's feature in channels.
ReplyDeletehow long?
ReplyDeleteThat is a good reason to agree that human can not rule themselves without God
ReplyDeleteUche okpuno ULO. U wud be called to answer! #thieves
ReplyDeleteWe've had flights cancelled severally just because of small harmattan. The run way isn't long enough and badly lit. Yet GEJ used it as part of his campaign records. Shame.
ReplyDeleteThat airport has always been so they are talking now because the settlement wasn't enough for them to share during their campaign were they landing at the same airport while now theif theif people.
ReplyDeleteAirport more like a game reserve. ....
ReplyDeleteNu be today, we deltans know the story of that airport, we know the very first OverLand flight launch the airport same as our president bur na wen e lose election the airport nu dei safe. But they look beta excuse cos Buhari is coming for them
