Exclusive pics: Innoson shows off their made-in-Nigeria SUV worth N2.9m
Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing company, owned by Chief Innocent Chukwuma showed off their new made in Nigeria SUV at the Silverbird Man of the Year event on Sunday. The SUV is worth about N2.9million. See more photos after the cut...
So this is why they increased import duty? 5.6m? It does look like it should be way cheaper than that..... Thanks but no thanks. Wouldn't mind buying their buses tho for transport business if it is less than 2m..
I laugh at those attacking this young fellow...you see my friends the purpose of a manufacturing or assembling company as the case maybe in Nigeria Is for us to buy a brand new car for the price of Tokunbo or even less, that's how it is abroad.::this Man is Evil, may God reward him accordingly
They get most of the things used to assemble the vehicles from other countries, so he should lose by selling the cars less than the production price and u gain abi?
All of u shld shut the fuck up...these card r made in Nigeria, no shopping cost or any other hidden cost. Why shld it den be expensive? How can u compete with already established car brands if ur price is the same with theirs. Patriotism my ass I rather buy an already established car brand than buy ur product. Nonsense
Lol You humans are gradually losing your sense of humanity all for business..I am not spoiling anyone's business,God forbid me spoiling a good business, but you must understand how this works, those foreign made cars we buy down here are expensive because of the whole cost of importation actually...over there they are cheaper for them, for Innocin there'r no much cost on importing car parts for Cuz the government already subsidized em for his good works...he is expected to carry this good work a long way,for Godsake why would a civil servant want to buy a 5.6m car when foreign cars are even cheaper....I don't get how you guys reason this,,,His car prices should be fair for the sake of mankind equity and Justice and ofcos for the competitive market. And hey quit saying someone is poor because he/she does not Wona spend 5.6m on a locally made car, that's absord...You guys should start thinking right,We(Right) must win this War against Wrong you like it or not....My respect to Ben Bruce(tho it's only a speech but..) Chioma you might aswell talk to your dad about my point,I blv you think Cuz he's rich he wouldn't bother spending 5.6m Buh ask him first ok.thanks
You don't impose a brand of car on us...increasing tariffs on Tokunbo so Innocin can have his way on ripping us off, putting us in dept, making it impossible for the average Nigerian to ever own a car, creating more angry, aggressive n threats to the society all in the name of development. This is No development God will take Charge really soon Chioma...Stop defending these demons, they know what's right if they wanted to develope the society *crying* God have mercy on you, this country won't remain this way I assure you
Oga Davido's driver, Abeg show me where you for see dent? Dent ko, dent ni!. park well jo.. instead of you to appreciate and praise the fact that this is a welcome development, you are looking for flaws where there is none.. Aproco no be work ooo
Leave them. With their slave mentality. If it's Toyota or Honda now they will jump. Instead of you to support your own! This is why this country shall continue to carry last. If you don't support your own, who else will?
Its expensive for a car dats made in naija. Who go get mind spend dat kind money. Our government should start patronizing dis guy so dat Nigerians can see how durable the cars are den we can follow. Linda take note!
Go to Anambra, IVM motors are everywhere. People with money will patronize them. We appreciate our people. When it's made in Naija it will become automatically fake. How will Nigeria develop? una go dey shout change up and down.
The cars are everywhere PLS do some research before making uneducated comments. If it can last on the roads in the east, it sure as hell can last anywhere. And expensive for a car made in Naij? I pity our people. Slave mentality is real. So because it's made in Naij its substandard? What a professional dullard!
Chioma quit stalking people...you are not wise!!....you think this is how development comes,5.6m is development to you because your dad can afford it...you better get off this ideology,no one is thinking less of Nigerian products, but it ought to be subsidized That's the purpose, not frustrate the average Nigerian
Why do we fool ourselves? A made in Nigeria car for N5.6m. Is it for Nigerians or for export? It's a shame that some Nigerians have become indifferent and distanced themselves from d aims and aspirations of fellow Nigerians.
idiat....stolen money or ritual money, right? yeye dey smell....put all your salary together for 5years, just maybe you can afford it, that is if you have a job at all.
As much as I am proud of this massive achievement, I still think more work needs to be done in the design of these cars! The SUV looks like a clone of a Toyota land cruiser and the saloon car looks like a clone of the Chinese echlon.
Good job but you'd need to present a competitive pricing to thrive else...Nigerians would keep going for known brands. For me, N5.6m is still on the high side so to say.
@Mayreeh Chioma, why u dey attacked everyone dat go against the car price nah? Are u working with company? Even if u are working with the company ehe! I think u should tell the truth for once, the price is too high whether you like it or not, inasmuch as the car is made in Nigeria i think #3.5m to #4m is okay for the Suv and #1.5m to #2m for the saloncar.
@mayreeh Chioma u Look so cheap. It's obvious you can't even afford an audi 80. Need I remind you that rich people don't waste money. If you can buy the whole company, that's for your pocket. But I won't even accept this car as a gift.
Great Job IVM. but we as Nigerians need to work more on how we present our goods. What is that empty carton doing underneath the car? Is that a pool of water or engine oil I see there?
Broke people be like! How can he sell an SUV for 2mil can't break even with that that's a loss. This is why our economy isn't where it should be, cos we refuse to patronize our own brands.
Titi plz shut up already.how much do you know about economy growth, don't talk about what you don't understand deeply,it's foolish....SUV or trailer the price is too harsh for economic growth, this is a locally made car we talking about,no importation fees and stuffs,it ought to be subsidized.a lot of u girls really think money grows in trees, any guy that complains is broke lol.well that billionaire dint become one out of buying 5.6m locally made cars...I pity who's gona marry you...you ain't a wife, neither are you Business
good one from Innoson and the present Administration of President Goodluck Jonathan for making this possible. But the APCriminalsBlindSupporters as usual, don't see transformation as being important, they only believe in fake change.. smh..
I like the sedan, it looks like a camry, but the SUV looks like some old land cruiser. I think they could have used modern design. Either way, I'm glad that we're making progress. This could help create employment and reduce the demand for foreign cars. Kudos to the Innoson group!
Is the vehicle imported? Abi dem still pay duty on top am? I thought it was made in Nigeria? Why is it so expensive? The presentation is poor sha.. Why should I spend 5.6m on a vehicle and still be approached by pure water sellers on the traffic? What you drive matters.. if you drive an official car like Prado, Vendors will approach you with news papers on traffic. If you drive a Mercedes/Range Autobiography you know the reactions already but if you drive a towing van/ smoking vehicles, na pure water, energy drink and alomo bitter sellers go steadily dey approach you. The SUV na towing Van na.. Abeg Innoso, take a chill on your pricing oo.. too exorbitant for a vehicle that has no recognition. Rome wasn't built in a day so don't expect to collect your profit in one month.. Nice one though..
Wow! This is Nice, I'm so impress. Glad to know such a good thing is going on in my country.. #Proudly9ja but I thinkkkkk its a lil too expensive for 5.6m.. Ppl won't go for it, some will rather go for Toyota highlander instead
Made in Nigeria abi assembled in Nigeria. Make una stop this blatant lies. As of now, we can only assemble cars in Nigeria not to the other way round. Anyway it is a nice development
The Ideal of Having a Made in Nigeria Car is to have Nigerians Patronize. With that in Mind, any Innovator/Business minded person will strive to produce Cars affordable to the General Populace. 5.6 Million for a Made in Nigeria Yet-To-Be Tested and Trusted Car is way too Expensive. A brand new 2015 Ford Edge sells for 5.8-6m. Why the Hell will anyone now settle for a 'Substandard' Made in Nigeria Car for 5.6m??? Haba!!! Lets face fact. That will be utmost stupidity. Innoson should take a cue from the business strategy adopted by Kia Company in their early phase
The essence of starting off a business is to gain a name while making little profit to ensure acquiring a space in a world of worthy competitors.
I thought they claim everything is manufacture in Nigeria??? Why the Exuberant Price???
Innoson Should reconsider and re-strategies His Market Strategy as He may take like for Ever to Achieve His goals if He continues threading in this Direction. Except of course He want the Federal government to also pay subsidy for His Car. By the Way, the car designs still needs more modification. Even the Buses already plying Abuja and other parts of Nigeria looks like an unbalanced white Molue if you ask Me or better still a House hurriedly Built with slanted foundation
I thought the 'Made in Nigeria' concept is to make indigenous products cheaper and more affordable than their international counterpart. This is way too expensive.

Good innovation, good start for nigerian auto industry, I wish there was a comprehensive pics of the interior and specs and I also still think 5.6million is way on the high side, this car should be below 3m for now till it gains wife acceptability....

Goog thinking and pretty good product,But I honestly think that if Innoson Motors wants to be more successful and gain a more wide spread acceptance across the generality of Nigeria, they need to focus on low income earners and produce more of low buget cars of bellow 500k,cheap but efficient commuter buses and tricycles, trust me within 5yrs of their doing this, bet me they will become a house hold name for Nigeria, just like TATA is for Indians..But will they listen? That's the million naira questions..Long live Nigeria.
This is the reason all this suffering has been introduced into the country. The car is totally built outside to country and all that is put together is tires, battery and seats.
Made in Nigeria and it is still worth N5.6M, Please what are we trying to achieve here?
Is to sing our praises that we now produce cars in Nigeria or to enable Nigerian afford brand new cars? We need to go back to the drawing board....It's a good idea but it doesn't make any economic sense to the Nigerian people that are still struggling to buy a grade A tokunbo car worth N2m.
I would rather buy a brand new Kia Cerato worth N3.6m, that is just the economic sense i'm talking about.
em... so is this why importation of cars is gradually trying to be banned? how many Nigerians can afford to pay almost 6 million naira on a car? makes no sense, are we going back to the point where only the rich would be the ones to afford a car?
Am shocked no one is talking about safety and quality control tests. In other climes, cars are subjected to rigorous safety tests by regulatory agencies. Now which agency is regulating the cars assembled or manufactured in Nigeria????
U re right broda Hu inspects and conducts d safety 1st on d cars abi dem just put 2geda and push put in d market. Some TV addicts can see wia Mercedes, ford,Toyota, Chevrolet, hyundai and oda brands test Dia cars nd products even d crash test is been conducted to ensure safety. Yet I only c below par unveiling of a car not even allowing d viewers full view by covering d car body with ribbons as if dem dey open 🏡 house. #team Igbos all d way#
Great concept, Great achievement... I am happy seeing this coming out from our own 9ja. But sincerely speaking, this car would sell better if the price is reduced. 5.6M...No be moimoi oooooh..
Pls fellow Nigerians learn to encourage and appreciate wotsup with all d negative vibes...I can bet that none of u would reject either of the two cars if it's given to u as a gift....it's a nice car and years down the line it'll be @ par with other known brands so please STOP!!with all d negativity
See your dirty mouth...ode..its obvious that you don't even have up to one million to afford a car..and its unfortunate your father isn't innoson. Igbo's like you shouldnt be called Igbo
some ppl dont just lik to see something gud and say the truth. who is d idiot dat said the car is an ugly canoe,ur generations can neva do something as gud as this and d goat that said dat calls hm self davido's driver sayin he sees a dent. o ju re ti fo abi ( u v gone blind abi?)driver oshi. pls ppl shd encourage and admire gud tins when dey see it,odawise it will neva com to u. big ups to innoson.
Thank God Nigeria is advancing, U can't expect the Cars' design to get advanced in a single day. Those foreign companies you guys are talking about have been there for so long; some are even close to 100 years of age. And also think of the pool of talents those foreign Manufacturers also have, even Africans are among their Gifted Employees; the likes of Jelani Aliyu, Patrick Usoro, etc. It's time for us to embrace development and give Kudos to those helping the developments. I can name several Foreign cars that are not beautifully designed but Africans will hail at the sight of those cars because it's made by Foreign Brand. Anyway, have you ever heard of "African version" of Cars from foreign Manufacturers? You better let's support our own other than supporting products that are not even Meant/Made for our Dear Continent. God bless Africa.

why should an average nigerian be looking to buy an suv.. there are other ivm vehicles for 1.2 million like the one my uncle bought. so if u dont have the cash for suv then just shut ur trap. he didnt build the suv for average nigerians. this is a business man that knows what he is doing....here in port harcourt the cost of a simple meal in presidential hotel is hitting up to 4500 to 5000 naira... can an average nigerian spend that for a meal. shoe get size.

Nigerians are the most pitiable humans on earth.. These are the same ppl complaining that we should expand our industries. And here we are with an alternative. All you need to do is just like and buy or hate and pass and here you are saying rubbish.I rep Igbo's.. We have no time for you guys and your shit. These are nice looking cars for Gods sake and someone has the guts to say they dont look durable when you haven't driven them. What a pity!!! We are our own problems..take a look at the ivm 80 and tell me if you don't think this man is trying. Hes doing his best to give nigeira the best..see them saying the cars are expensive.. Abi there is 24hrs light to power his factory.. Abi he doesn't have a work force to pay..Abi he doesn't need to source for materials home and abroad???? Please you guys(haters) don't showcase your stupidity on this forum okay? If you can't afford the cars shut up and move on instead of being a hater..truth is most of you haters actually love these cars but for the mere fact that its an igbo man???? You guys are disgusted. .continue oooo..as for me, when I make money I'm going for one innoson SUV and one sedan..

Bad or good...The main thing there is that we have started the invention, while hoping that we would improve with time...Period.
ReplyDeleteOk
ReplyDeleteIs the vehicle imported?

DeleteI tank u bro at least development is coming to nigeria, @ least from the igbos we r proud of ourselves. Igbo kewenu!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wellcome dev in nig.which i highly commend, and for those poor dudes criticizing this good work i say make una go sex spider,..#longhiss#
ReplyDeleteWow! This is Nice, I'm so impress. Glad to know such a good thing is going on in my country.. #Proudly9ja but I thinkkkkk its a lil too expensive for 5.6m.. Ppl won't go for it, some will rather go for Toyota highlander instead
ReplyDeleteWow.... Datz gud!
ReplyDeleteMade in Nigeria abi assembled in Nigeria. Make una stop this blatant lies. As of now, we can only assemble cars in Nigeria not to the other way round. Anyway it is a nice development
ReplyDeleteThe Ideal of Having a Made in Nigeria Car is to have Nigerians Patronize.
ReplyDeleteWhy the Hell will anyone now settle for a 'Substandard' Made in Nigeria Car for 5.6m???
#justsayingmymind
I thought the 'Made in Nigeria' concept is to make indigenous products cheaper and more affordable than their international counterpart. This is way too expensive.

Good innovation, good start for nigerian auto industry, I wish there was a comprehensive pics of the interior and specs and I also still think 5.6million is way on the high side, this car should be below 3m for now till it gains wife acceptability....

all this guys just critisizin nonsence are all broke ass. cant they learn to be patriotic for once and help encourage rathervthan to pull down
ReplyDeleteGoog thinking and pretty good product,But I honestly think that if Innoson Motors wants to be more successful and gain a more wide spread acceptance across the generality of Nigeria, they need to focus on low income earners and produce more of low buget cars of bellow 500k,cheap but efficient commuter buses and tricycles, trust me within 5yrs of their doing this, bet me they will become a house hold name for Nigeria, just like TATA is for Indians..But will they listen? That's the million naira questions..Long live Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteLoving the SUV..@Linda, plz my birthday is very very soon; all I need is the SUV....thanks in advance..#GodWin
ReplyDeletesince they can achieve producing a car they should have as well made it look better than this
ReplyDeleteVery Igbotic presentation.
ReplyDeleteHaba eye go eat bifor mouth. You are showing a 'new' product and your presentation looks like na garri machine you dey present.
Fire your head of marketing.
People are not even looking at the car but the tacky presentation.
no b only 5.6million... shey na 20years waranty on d car ni?
ReplyDeleteMay god bless the work of your hands and make you succeed .
ReplyDeleteChinwe Uba
Ochanja ,onitcha, aba made. Hell no to this empty plank.
ReplyDeleteThis is the reason all this suffering has been introduced into the country. The car is totally built outside to country and all that is put together is tires, battery and seats.
ReplyDeleteGo figure
Made in Nigeria and it is still worth N5.6M, Please what are we trying to achieve here?
ReplyDeleteIs to sing our praises that we now produce cars in Nigeria or to enable Nigerian afford brand new cars? We need to go back to the drawing board....It's a good idea but it doesn't make any economic sense to the Nigerian people that are still struggling to buy a grade A tokunbo car worth N2m.
I would rather buy a brand new Kia Cerato worth N3.6m, that is just the economic sense i'm talking about.
em... so is this why importation of cars is gradually trying to be banned? how many Nigerians can afford to pay almost 6 million naira on a car? makes no sense, are we going back to the point where only the rich would be the ones to afford a car?
ReplyDeleteI dnt bliv it
ReplyDeleteWareva
ReplyDeleteAm shocked no one is talking about safety and quality control tests.
ReplyDeleteIn other climes, cars are subjected to rigorous safety tests by regulatory agencies.
#team Igbos all d way#
DeleteGreat concept, Great achievement... I am happy seeing this coming out from our own 9ja. But sincerely speaking, this car would sell better if the price is reduced. 5.6M...No be moimoi oooooh..
ReplyDelete@SirM2k
This is really a positive development coming from nigeria
ReplyDeletePls fellow Nigerians learn to encourage and appreciate wotsup with all d negative vibes...I can bet that none of u would reject either of the two cars if it's given to u as a gift....it's a nice car and years down the line it'll be @ par with other known brands so please STOP!!with all d negativity
ReplyDeletei wont pay 1million for this car not to talk of 5.6million even if my dad is innoson.
ReplyDeletei wont pay 1million for this car not to talk of 5.6million even if my dad is innoson.
ReplyDeleteSee your dirty mouth...ode..its obvious that you don't even have up to one million to afford a car..and its unfortunate your father isn't innoson. Igbo's like you shouldnt be called Igbo
Deletesome ppl dont just lik to see something gud and say the truth. who is d idiot dat said the car is an ugly canoe,ur generations can neva do something as gud as this and d goat that said dat calls hm self davido's driver sayin he sees a dent. o ju re ti fo abi ( u v gone blind abi?)driver oshi. pls ppl shd encourage and admire gud tins when dey see it,odawise it will neva com to u. big ups to innoson.
ReplyDeleteThank God Nigeria is advancing, U can't expect the Cars' design to get advanced in a single day.

ReplyDeletewhy should an average nigerian be looking to buy an suv.. there are other ivm vehicles for 1.2 million like the one my uncle bought. so if u dont have the cash for suv then just shut ur trap. he didnt build the suv for average nigerians. this is a business man that knows what he is doing....here in port harcourt the cost of a simple meal in presidential hotel is hitting up to 4500 to 5000 naira... can an average nigerian spend that for a meal. shoe get size.

ReplyDeletemy favourite the G5, i will tell to upgrade one for me
ReplyDeleteNigerians are the most pitiable humans on earth..
