Buhari reportedly rejects ministerial list from APC governors. Ha!

My hand no dey for this one o..lol. Saw it on Nigerian Tribune and it's juicy. Read below...
President-elect Buhari appeared to have dashed the hopes of the governors elected on the platform of the APC when he rejected their plans to submit a ministerial list to him.
The APC governors, led by Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, had, last Tuesday, visited Buhari in Abuja to pledge loyalty and make some demands. At the meeting, some requests were placed on the table openly, while the request to drop the list of possible ministers came up for discussion behind the closed door.
Sources close to the meeting between the governors and General Buhari indicated that the state chief executives came out of the visit with heavy minds.

Planning to maintain the tradition already instituted by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where the state governors as party leaders in the states are requested to submit list of possible ministers and Ambassadorial appointees to the president, the governors threw the request at Buhari.

But it was learnt that the General rejected the proposal and declared that the Constitution does not mandate him to take a list of ministerial nominees from them.

The president-elect was also said to have rejected the call for a bailout for the states that have been unable to pay salaries, with a source informing Sunday Tribune that the General flatly rejected the proposal, saying the he was aware the Federal Government was not owing the states their allocations.

A source close to the discussion told the Sunday Tribune that General Buhari told the governors that those of them in their second terms could not complain about the state of government finances, as they have all been collecting allocations from the Federal Government all along.

The source quoted Buhari as saying that “I do not think we can discuss that issue of Ministerial list. The Constitution clearly does not mandate me to take a list from the governors. To me, the governors should concentrate on getting good hands to help them in discharging their duties in the states.”

    1. Who were those morons who were saying that the FG is responsible for paying state workers salaries being owed in places like Osun? They were busy running their mouths because it was GEJ's Govt that was stating this fact. Now that Buhari has said the same, it's Sai Baba?

Vultures want to make their cronies and brothers in law Ministers. Be this is the change am talking about! Buhari is the real change.
This is how they ruined Jonathan who had good intentions. It starts with a seemingly harmless Ministerial list. We need men like Jega in this new Nigeria. They exist. Buhari should find them, if he needs help as Nigerians!
No more "come chop level" change has come.
My tongue out for this who told me that Buhari is someone's stooge!

  41. It's really not a story but facts that needs to be heard but I wouldn't know the best source to get my messages across to Our President Elect.
Our dear Country is In need of transformation which we all know. But having creative and innovative ideas which will help this Country generate more funds and create job opportunities for people, and your views can't be heard simply because some people are rightfully, if I may say are assumed to own particular positions in the government is sad and terrible.
It's 2am now and instead of enjoying my sleep as most people are doing now, am awake worried and thinking of how to help my Country and it's citizens get the better lives they deserve.
Tourism is the key to one aspect.
First , the citizens of this country do not have any sort/kind of leisure center and/activities. Nothing is working, if any it's almost dead. We need an inspiring environment, fun but creative. Where people can relax, enjoy, think calmly and create mind blowing ideas. People are stuck with beer parlors, eateries and very few relate with cinemas. Kids have no adventures to motivate their educational background practically. Before you can attract foreigners into your country for tourism, the citizens should be able to testify to it's satisfaction.
Young people are smarter and more creative, we travel out of this country to enjoy what other countries has set up. WHY CAN'T WE SET UP OURS?_???
There are many talented people in this country, people who have wonderful ideas of things that can be done to elevate this nation from it's current position.
But how can the authorities hear us out???? HOW.
Mr President - Elect, this country will benefit beyond measures if and only if you are willing to hear me out. And am certain of other incredible ideas that my peers have too.
We are the future, I am the future, we can't build the future tomorrow, we start TODAY.

This is leadership solidly rooted in the constitution.
Nice one, all those criminals thinking after rigging elections they will nominate their croonies to loot at federal level can see clearly now that the time of NAIRA rain in government is well in the past.
I wish Buhari well and continue to pray for God's guidance in his government.

  46. Why are the same people in government, nominating ministers. How can those who are not related/friends with the people in government, participate in changing this country???? There are few positions on that list that requires the active creativity, innovation, and vision of younger generation. We have intelligent people who have mind blowing ideas on how to help this country achieve the required change it needs. But no, you will not allow them to share their ideas with this nation. I have been awake all through the night, thinking, creating ideas and facts, things I know will help boost our economy as well as provide massive job opportunities.
Mr President Elect, this is not about APC/PDP/APGA/ politics. It's about doing the right thing, implementing the right steps to achieve the great CHANGE we all look forward to.
I am not a politician, but simply a citizen who knows that I and other creative, smart and intelligent people out there has what it takes to effectively change the financial and unemployment status of our beloved country. If only we can be accorded the opportunity.

  114. If that's truly the case, GMB is actually starting off on the right foot. This is democracy - a system of due process: no sleazing allowed. If he goes by the law in his dealings, he will have righted his past wrongs in his era of dictatorship; prevented any iota of foreseeable aura of impeachment by trespass and wrongful assumption of disposition.

I wish him what he wishes Nigeria and Nigerians.

    In God we trust.
