3 down, 9 to go as Etisalat sponsored Nigerian Idol V gets tougher

The race for the ultimate prize in the on-going Etisalat-sponsored Nigerian Idol Season V continued over the weekend as Ayoka (above), Prime and Modele were voted out of the competition after drawing the least votes at the first eviction show.

With their eviction, the competition now has nine contestants vying for the crown and they are, Brenda, Dolu, Uloma, Preye, K-Peace, Nex2, Sther, P Scholes and Classiq Tunez

Top Nine Contestants
The second gala show which also took place over the weekend featured the top 9 contestants perform fiercely for the highly coveted Nigerian Idol crown. While some of the contestants succeeded in warming their ways into the hearts of the judging panel, Dede Mabiaku, Yinka Davies, Darey Art -Alade as well as the guest Judge, N6 of Cool FM, others did not cut their ways through.

Stars of the night were Nex2 with his rendition of ‘Ready Aim’ by Mali Music; Dolu with her rendition of ‘Chandelier’ by Sia; K-Peace with his rendition of John Legend’s, You & I; and Brenda’s effortless rendition of Lauryn Hill’s ‘To Zion.

’We are looking for a winner that can go toe-to-toe with both Nigerian and international artistes,  and the show has gotten to the point, where anything below standard cannot be accepted from the contestants. We appeal to the voting public to vote for the best and only the best,’’ Events and Sponsorships, Etisalat Nigeria, Modupe Thani said after the show'

To vote, viewers should dial the number of their favorite contestant on an Etisalat line or send the contestant’s number to 33680 via SMS. Voting began midnight Sunday, May 3 and ends Wednesday, May 6, 2015.

  6. Those two ladies need to go back to church...The yare church singers who are looking for FAME at all cost.. It is not in any way judging them but saying "In life, you must know where GOD has called you to be" We all can not be superstars.... Both have been trying every now and then, is it not time they check themselves and tell themselves some truth. I know them very well and i am only stating the obvious.... I pray GOD shows them their next line of action.... GOD BLESS THEM!!! Much LOve!

  17. Ayoka needs to go through school abeg. Her quest for fame is too much. After runz didn't pay for her, now she's looking for fame. I know her personally and I feel disgusted by her fame lust.
