Former Egyptian president, Mohamed Morsi sentenced to 20 years in prison

An Egyptian criminal court in Cairo, Egypt's capital has sentenced former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi to 20 years in prison over the killing of protesters in 2012. The former President's supporters attacked opposition protesters outside the presidential palace in December 2012, sparking clashes that killed at least 10 people.

Delivering judgement today, Judge Ahmed Youssef dropped the murder charges against Morsi and said the sentence was instead linked to the “show of force” against protesters & unlawful detentions. Morsi who is Egypt's first freely elected president came into office in 2011 after the overthrow of Hosni Mubarak. He was ousted by the army in 2013.

    1. Buhari should be sentenced to life imprisonment for all the people he has killed. It's only in Nigeria criminals like Buhari are elected presidents. I pity the supposed leaders of tomorrow that voted for an illiterate like Buhari that does not believe in education to be president. Our eyes will be open in the coming days the devil we voted into power. Especially non muslims/hausas. Buhari is an empty headed animal.

    1. It's only in Nigeria that we reward the position of presidency to killers like Buhari. It's a shame that Nigerians especially the so called educated youths will support that blood sucking Buhari that his actions and command to his northern animals has resulted to the death of over 10thousand Nigerians. The blood of the innocent people will hunt Buhari down, watch out you all.

  17. Great. Both al Asisi and his allies are achieving their aims. They toppled a democratically elected govt and embarked on a systematic killing and imprisonment those they toppled. How do you ensure peace where there is no justice.

This is how the West influence these Arabs and they become bitter enemies in the end. God is the Ultimate Judge sha

  32. this is not justice, it is wickedness. Hosni Mubarak the real killer is now a free man. Morsi security aid that prevent protester from storming presidential palace. However i wonder how many years the so-call governor elect in river state Nwesom Wike, Mama peace, Mbu, and other criminal in Rivers state Nigeria would serve, if they were to be tried in court, even President Jonathan for being silence on River state problem. Anyway shame on Egyptian -. Ex- president Morsi was short-changed and chanced of his mandate by President Al-sisi and his western government desperadoes.
