My dear Arewa brothers and sisters,
I write you today as President and a firm believer in the value and
significance of the strategic political alliance between the
South-South geo-political zone and the three geopolitical zones in the
Northern part of our country. In my every act as President of Nigeria,
I have been consistently driven by a total commitment to ensuring the
nurturing of this age-old alliance in the larger interest of our dear
nation’s enduring peace, stability, growth and development.
I do understand that my first duty to you, at this time, is to rid the
entire North of the menace of Boko Haram and secure your lives and
property. You and I know that nothing in Nigeria’s past prepared us
for the unprecedented reign of unmitigated terror, mayhem and
destruction which these murderous terrorists have visited on parts of
our country. The initial slowness in effectively responding to this
threat was a result of both the asymmetrical nature of the war on
terror and the need for us to properly equip our security agencies for
the successful prosecution of the war.
Given the recent successes recorded by our armed forces, with your
cooperation and patriotic support, the cooperation of our neighbours,
as well as the laudable gallantry of the men and women of our security
agencies, I am confident that, in the shortest possible time, the
menace of Boko Haram would have been eliminated for good.
My brothers and sisters, your pain is my pain; while there is no way
to replace life, we must find ways to soothe the pains of our fellow
Nigerians and rebuild the lives of persons and communities affected by
these brutal murderers. The painful case of our daughters abducted
from Chibok continues to ache my heart. I assure you that I will not
relent until these innocent girls are rescued and reunited with their
families. While commending you for your prayers, I am confident that,
with the help of Almighty Allah, we will totally defeat and put to
shame these evildoers and their collaborators.
I am sure that you share with me the belief that, without the will of
God, in Whose Hands power resides, I would never have been your
President nor will I continue to be so in the future. Because Nigeria
is today in desperate need of stability, I plead with you to join me
in building on the foundation of the traditional alliance between us
which has always served to keep Nigeria one strong, united and
prosperous nation. My loyalty to my boss, late President Yar’Adua, and
the greatness of the Arewa/South-South alliance under him, is a
well-known testimony to this tradition.
In the past four years, I have remained faithful to our old alliance
especially the appointments of your sons and daughters to high
political offices. In addition, I have worked hard to reverse the over
30 years neglect of Agriculture in Northern Nigeria; address the
challenge of Education through the establishment of dedicated Almajiri
schools and the establishment of Universities in the nine Northern
States that did not have Federal Universities; reduce the death rate
of mothers and babies during birth; give loans to start-up businesses;
restore abandoned irrigation and hydro-power projects; repair the bad
roads and re-build the railway system which is the most viable access
for your goods to the rest of Nigeria and the world.
With gratitude to God, I ask you for the chance to rebuild the North
East, restore the economy and grains pyramids of Northern Nigeria so
that these trains we just brought back can carry your bags of grains
to Lagos, Port Harcourt and Onitsha. My vision and commitment is not
to just move the grains but to also process our agro produce in the
North of our country. It is impossible for me to achieve these great
things if you do not support me and worse still if you refuse to work
with me.
I urge you to disregard the politicians who abuse my person and cause
hatred against my government by telling lies that I denied Arewa power
and am arming Boko Haram. This government that I head means well for
this country. I am committed to the development of the North. I am
totally committed to the unity of this country. 2019 is just four
years away and it is only with the PDP that the vision of rotating
power to the North can be guaranteed. I urge you to stand with the
PDP. I pray that you recall where we are coming from and how I became
President in the first instance. Weigh what your younger generations
under PDP can offer you in the already approaching 2019. Only the PDP
can offer a safe 2019 power shift to the North.
May God Almighty bless you and may God continue to bless the Federal
Republic of Nigeria.

ReplyDeletePeople let me tell you, there's fear within the entire Presidential campaign and the Villa. Why the letter to Arewa (North), could this be it? Mr. President are you very confident going into Saturday? Nigerians will have the final verdict, i understand that your aide misled you Mr. President, they did, surely they did. Watching all your interviews where you spoke with assurance about how things are in the country, unfortunately it turned out to be false reminds that your aides have been lying to you all this while. They told you that we are all fine, that Nigerians are doing great dn praising you, the reverse became the case. In the real sense, we were wallowing in abject poverty and penury, no light, bills are too high, rent is too high, the few are billionaires whereas all of us are still worse off compared to our situation four years ago. We watched all those subsidy scams, Oduagate, Madueke's robbery, pension funds scam, Ekitigate, your wife calling us names, the immigrations scam that killed my good friend, and many more sins which personally, i have forgiven. But on Saturday, it will not be about me anymore, it will be about the country, your country, your citizens, they will have their say because your men have spoken for so long. We will go to the polling stations and many questions will come to our hearts. If any of us are better off today compared to last 6 years of your administration, you get their votes but if the reverse becomes the case, they will dismiss you right away. I have collected my PVC, thank you for making that possible through INEC and i am one of those Nigerians who are still undecided. And when i get to the polling station on Saturday, on my way working there, lots of questions will definitely be before me, and i will decide. But believe me Mr President, things are worse for me and my family since you took office, i'm not sure if you deserve my vote, but i know you are not a bad guy, unfortunately we will be electing a Leader who will make Nigeria to start working again for the poor people and not your only rich friends. We need a new life as a nation and i cannot see that working with you. If you fail in this election, do not take it personal, Nigerians just gave a verdict and truthfully, their hearts are so broken going into this election
ReplyDeleteRENT IS HIGH PLEASE ITS NOT THE PRESIDENT FAULTS. ALL THE STATES GOVERNED BY APC IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO LIVE. THEY ARE VERY GREEDY COS OF THEIR USELESS LAWS PEOPLE HAS STOPPED BUILDING
DeleteThank you. You have said my mind. I voted for GEJ in 2011 but he failed us woefully. I am not concerned about what I can get from this govt thru my link in govt. I am concerned about how to save this country from doom that is eminent.

ReplyDeleteU r so gullible, what does humbleness has to do with competency, they are two different thing entirely , but coming on this blog to give random reason such humbleness as a criteria for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria made me think what type of people do we have in this country that letting sentiment to override objectivity when it cone to the most important job in the country , pls my any can pretend to be humble but when it come to competency there no pretence about that , and for your information I for one will always prefer proud and competent in the individual to be my President anyday anytime over an humble and incompetent person
DeleteHmmm you are very optimistic. By my count...10 Northern states are completely going with Buhari...So better pray hard oh...It just might be a miracle #SAIBUHARI
DeleteHehehe See your pain It would be great to be the illegal son of the Jagaban of Lagos.
DeleteChange is here! Change is now! We can just smell it. Hehehe
You are very daft so please just shut up
DeleteGod bless u. Too sentimental even for an office as delicate as d presidential. Some Nigerians are really blind to see reasons why this man must go. It really sad
DeleteYes oh, pls tell him
DeleteIt jst dawn on him abi? Igbayi laro, tarugbo nsunku eyi.
ReplyDeleteIt jst dawn on him abi? Igbayi laro, tarugbo nsunku eyi.

ReplyDeleteIsookay!
ReplyDeleteok
ReplyDeleteMore desperation.GMB won't write such a letter to Ijaw leaders cos he's target are Nigerians collectively.
ReplyDeleteThen he is makingba mistake because you need to solicit for every single Nigerians vote. It is a hussle. Go ask Obama how campaigning is done. It is not a lazy man's game. Oh! And it also involves debating to sell your ideas to the electorate which Buhari has decided not to do.
DeleteDivide and rule tactic by Jonathan
DeleteDivide and rule tactic by Jonathan will no longer work in Nigeria.
DeleteVote for change .
DeleteToo tiny for my eyes, I can't develop an eye problem at this age... Biko someone should
ReplyDeleteread and interpret it to me.. GEJ we're marching very closely..👍
I no sabi read
ReplyDeleteAh Ah Naija Delta Babe you no sabi read why you no go register for the Almajari schools wey your bros build. Make you begin read...
DeleteI can now have a big old laugh at these stupid Igbo brothers of mine who think that Badluck Ebele will pave the way for them to become President come 2019. He has sold it to the North so he can remain. By now the Igbos would have had a real go at the Presidency if Badluck had not usurped Yaradua's presidency. Vote Buhari and at least we have a shot in 4-8 years instead of another 12 years wait.
ReplyDeleteHehehe You are so right. Igbos kwenu... He did not plan on handing over to you all come 2019 he was going to give the Presidency back to the north. PDP Wayoooo. Stick with Buhari and you all just might make it in 2019 SAI BUHARI marching along now...28th here we come...
DeletePls it is very wrong of you to think that all Ibo support GEJ.Mind u , I don't care about where the president ones from but I care about who will rule nig well be it Ibo or not.
DeleteHehehe It was never going to the Igbos PDP Wayoooo. All of unable shine your eye vote someone to put Nigeria on the right track and restore confidence and just maybe 2019 The Igbos will find their way to Aso rock to consolidate on what #SAIBUHARI has built.
DeleteCouldnt read it bcos of the small font size...whats the content biko

Too late, Mr. President. Though I expected this last minute apology but, its too late cos the deed done is too grievous to Ignore. Dear change agents, pls disregard this call and march for our General come saturday
ReplyDeleteWell spoken but in desperation cos it's late to make things right even wen it's just a strategy to win dis election but d die is cast n hope Nigerians vote u out cos if not......
ReplyDeleteGOD BLESS NIGERIA!!!
This man is too desperate. He has never written a letter to anyone. All these because of election. If u like write 100 pages and Arabic version.
ReplyDeleteOf course all this has to be done before an election. What else do you expect. Bibi of Isreal hussled even harder before their elections and see how it got him a land slide victory even after he was lagging behind at the poles before the elections.
DeleteSo desperate
Delete»madness is when you spend 6yrs in d university reading day and night to get certificate at d end vote a mallam without a certificate.
ReplyDeleteThat is ur biz.
DeleteI can see your dad had to go to school to know how to be a father, how many graduate can defend d certificate. Buhari and Patience who sounds more like a person with certificate. I can c you don't know what leadership means. You the type with just certificate But don't know what it means.
DeleteShut ur mouth!
DeleteLeadership hs notn 2 do with education!wht is wrong with people lyk u?!!all u need is a thinking brain and a heart dats willing to make things truly better!
DeleteBULLSHIT, Man, YOU ARE OUT!!! Go and DIE, Take your fucking greedy fat wife with you!
ReplyDeleteI know some daft ardent followers of GMB will misinterpret this and begin write doused comments.AUNTY LINDA GOODEVENING.
ReplyDeleteNotice me pple, see ur head, the fly that refuses to hear word will definitely follow the corpse to d grave. U better hear word no b only Aunty linda goodevening, good Goodluck nko!
DeleteYimu...
ReplyDeleteLike its a huge favor from his pocket. Abegi!!!
His time is up, after buhari we are putting Amaechi as president for 10 years!
ReplyDeleteYou must be dillusional or living in Pluto.
DeleteHis time is up, after buhari we are putting Amaechi as president for 10 years!
ReplyDeleteHis time is up, after buhari we are putting Amaechi as president for 10 years!
ReplyDeleteGEJ you have not learned Hausa people will kill you I bet you. I warned before but you didn't listen this people are heartless, we Biafrans send this warning once more
ReplyDeleteLetter coming two days to election, evidence of desperation. These politicians should stop playing on our emotion, and let their good work during administration speak for them.
ReplyDeleteGoodluck Jonathan doesn't have the mental capacity to articulate this kind of letter. He is not well-meaning. Believe me. Disregard this desperate effort from him.
ReplyDeleteVote CHANGE! Vote General Muhammdu Buhari!
And i suppose that it is Buhari that has the mental capability???????.lol.
DeleteAnd buhari does??? Buhari is as dense as a stone.
DeleteAunty linda, pls can u rewrite the english one. ITs not clear .Pls
ReplyDeleteYou cant fool us. I thought you said you would give the Igbos presidency in 2019 through PDP? Why lie to them and then lie to us. We are not fools.
ReplyDeleteSee this guy o! You gave dollar$$ to the South West and a mare letter to the North! I hope you've started packing back your village!
ReplyDeleteThere are always our problem in this country. They feel the country belong to them all alone and other people should be slaves to them. But I don't blame them much because its when one mentally, socially and physically submit his/herself to slavery that the oppressor will continue to Lord it over the person. Shame of a country.
ReplyDeleteA sectional president. Read Bukharin's letter and see how a statesman reasons.
ReplyDeleteMy broad its already late.U can't turn the hands of the clock now.i am from south south and u are busy pleasing the North without doing a single thing for us .so u call us fools.when Hausas were in power, they empowered themselves in the North and now a south south man is in power and he is still empowering the North,so we are nobody.Jonathan pack ur bags u are leaving no need fr the letter writing.
ReplyDeleteALRIGHT.
ReplyDeleteALRIGHT.
ReplyDeleteHow else does one desceribe this level of confused desperation? This man has no respect for the office of the President. He constantly fails to differentiate and distinguish btween Public and Private. Its not done to seek for Political Patronage as the President of the country, Thats why it has never mattered to him to use Airforce as Kabu Kabu for burial ceremony in Bayelsa; PDP events in ASO Rock & his wife flying to campaigns with govt aircrafts...I just keep shaking my head that we allow all this nonsense
ReplyDeleteYour ignorance is so glaring. Pls stop embarrasing your self withbsuch stupid statements.
DeleteJonathan Jonathan, be wise
ReplyDeleteLmaoooooo if he likes let him speak spanish

ReplyDeleteNetanyahu told his people he wouldnt give up Gaza and his Likud party won. Goodluck don write letter to powers wen be for naija, dem go support am. him go win, if e nor win e go enter Otuoke or be lecturer for university. If Buhari win, naija go scatter because dem go come see say Buhari nor be d changi wen him de sing. Na den my people go understand d follow follow wen fela de yarn. #votenotfight
ReplyDeleteYou lie, still d leader of u and we
ReplyDeleteMr president we are behind you
ReplyDeleteLIB readers must u guys insult GEJ before u decide on who to vote for? I wonder how u will feel wen a junior staff insult u if u were to his/her boss. The insult is way too much abeg. Weda GEJ or MB,any of dem dat comes to ur mind,u vote n stop using irritating words. Its unfair. Haba na!
ReplyDeleteHeard!
ReplyDeleteU reek of desperation...and if this is a political strategy, we see through ur BS......u failed us.....I wish nigerians will just vote someone else in...and not u or buhari.........we want to move forward not backward
ReplyDeleteWhy would a sitting president be doing all this kind of desperate things?? I am so ashamed for him....it is because he did not work and the one he says he has done we are not feeling it.
ReplyDeleteElectricity is worse tariffs have double
Dollar rate is increasing
Fuel scarcity

PDP fans are so bitter, they can't just post their comment without insulting previous commenters, what are you people so angry about? I won't be surprised if one insults me for my comment
ReplyDeleteJonathan leave! Leave!! Leave!! Just leave...6years nd nothing to show for it until 3months to election. We want change. But then again, I heard the Buhari is not any better. I suspect he is here for revenge...Father Lord take control
