Kowa presidential candidate addresses issue raised over her posture while giving a book to GEJ

Remember our 'what is wrong with this photo' post yesterday? Some Nigerians were displeased at the posture of Mrs Remi Sonaiya, the presidential candidate of KOWA party as she gave a book to President Jonathan at the 2015 NEDG presidential debate on Sunday March 22nd. She took to twitter to address the issue. See more tweets after the cut...

    6. I really do not understand d bone of contention here... Was she supposed to stand up when delivering d book?... Or was she supposed to tell d president to get up and collect d book? D only thing I see here is a mark of respect giving to her superior which is d president. Abeg lets close this case and focus on something more sensible.. GEJ we're still marching 👍

    2. I just read this comment by ovie ovie on a post and i had to copy and paste..."he that has ears let him hear"...pls vote not fight

When the deadliest civil WAR breaks out all of us ranting here APC and PDP note that the elites you are fighting for on social media will survive with their families but you and i will be refugees in Benin Republic and other countries if we survive it,and they will still sit at a peace accord meeting somewhere in Ghana ,South Africa or the U.N to still decide your fate and fly back their families with their private jets to continue using those who survived,if i may ask where are their children? they are all abroad in safe keeping,Nigerian youths listen and listen good,we have only one Nigeria, what the RADIO did to Rwanda is what SOCIAL MEDIA IS DOING TO NIGERIA NOW,the worst CIVIL WAR IN THE HISTORY OF AFRICA AND MANKIND IS IMMINENT,we are all pushing NIGERIA TO WAR,there will be no winners or losers,Nigeria ,you and i will lose atlast, the U.S/ the West promised SYRIA and LIBYA better life where they would be free from dictators and corrupt leadership, today you can see how free these countries are,Iraq inclusive after Sadam,Americans are safe in their country happy and laughing over the suffering they have caused using divisive propaganda to destroy them,Nigerians be warned a great WAR is at hand all of us here might not be alive to tell the story but i bet you ,all the elites and their children will be alive to tell the story. You and i don't own oil wells and private jets, then what are we fighting for. They want you to be counted as casualties so there would be a case .Please say no to violence if GEJ wins he wont feed his village if Buhari wins he wont feed his village, and nothing will change ,there is no time a govt will solve all your problems. There are more beggars and homeless people in the U.S than Nigeria even in Obamas backyard in Chicago homeless people queue up for food hand outs daily.STOP PUSHING NIGERIA TO WAR WITH SO MUCH HATE ON SOCIAL MEDIA BE WARNED OF WHAT THE RADIO DID TO RWANDA. We might not live to tell the STORY.Lets preach LOVE and KINDNESS.

I like the part he said "there are more beggars and homeless people in the US than Nigeria..even in obama's backyard in chicago homeless people queue up for food handouts daily" .....Nigerians want jonathan the magician to perform signs and wonders!

These same set of politicians u r fighting for; meets in clubs, wine n dine together and they still come out to divide the citizens. I bet in another few months after the election, there'll be cross-carpeting from one party to the other n they'll welcome dia so-called opposition with a warm-embrace. Nigerians, please wise-up. Politics is not about hatred. We can always make opinion known without any form of attack.

  22. They said Buhari will take us back if elected President! Nigerians say it's a good decision to go back when you've lost your way on a 16yrs PDP journey where our destination as a nation is no longer visible. Please, Buhari, take us back to the era where: 1. One Dollar was less than one Naira. It is incredible today! 2. Everything was on first come first serve basis. 3. There was zero tolerance for corruption. 4. Oil refineries in PortHarcourt, Warri & Kaduna were built & running at full capacity. 5. Anybody with questionable wealth was afraid to display it in public. 6. There was Zero tolerance for indiscipline. Everything was in order 7. Nigeria had no debt at all. 8. Neglecting your children was a crime 9. Littering the public place was a crime 10. Twenty oil depots were built and functioning. 11 Western world can't interfere into our nation. 12. Chad invaded Nigeria, we sent them packing but did not harness their Land 13. Our economy was NOT running on generator 14. We can sleep with our eyes closed because we were secured. 15. Countries like Indonesia and Malaysia need not to set example on how to deal with drug pushers. 16. The Maitaseine Islamic Sect insurgency in the North was crushed on record time. 17. We want those days when Buhari was a military Governor but did not amass illegal wealth. 18. We want those days when Buhari was a Minister of Petroleum but did not hire a private jet for N10 billion. 19. We want those days when Buhari was a Head of State but did not loot the Treasury. 20. We want those days when Buhari was Head of PTF but did not steal the Fund even in the days of Abacha when stealing was the order of the day. Pls, Buhari & Osinbajo, take us BACK! We can't afford another 4yrs of waste in the hands of PDP!!! Take us BACK to the good old days of this our great nation. If you want this to happen, circulate the message!!!

  26. APC started this gesture of turning everything into politics. Always attacking without respect to the Office.

Nevertheless, their attacks woke up the sleeping PDP who tried shit from their mediocrity performance of the years. If for one thing I am Happy we have a strong opposition who could now challenge PDP. This led to some recent developments we could see. If not PDP would have continued to finish Nigeria.

What beets me is that the opposition (APC) is no different from the PDP as a huge majority of their members are ex-PDP members who constituted the stunted development growth witnessed in the country over several years ago

As far as am concerned PDP and APC (new PDP) are the same.

None of them are really what Nigeria needs.

Back to Madam Kowa, kudos to your mature response and behavior. So you guys what her to drop her morals and respect ?

  43. Newsflash Senseless lots! Criticisms were from Twitter predominantly! Incase u don't know, social media critics are free to do so without belonging to any political party. So stop branding anyone that dosnt agree with your view or that has a contrary view as APC members. FYI: I personally don't see anything wrong with her respectful gesture towards the president.

  48. smh - I see 2 things wrong with the picture: 1. She can present the book after the election (besides she was supporting GEJ with every answer she gave, I know she will drop before the election and say she is now supporting PDP). 2. GEJ should be courteous to stand to receive the book from a lady.

#smh - The ministry of agriculture was simply being mischievous when it said that it eliminated N26 billion annual corruption in fertiliser distribution. Using the same baseline technique, we can ask what the total budget for fertiliser per year was in those years. That was what Adamu Bello did. The answer may surprise you: N3 billion!

#smh - How can you steal 26 from 3? Bello said the total subsidy between 1999 and 2007 was under N25billion. “This can be verified from the Budget Office of the Federal Ministry of Finance,” he said.

  49. Maybe there is nothing wrong in showing respect to the guy that governs the affairs of your country.. maybe. The reason I think some did not like this picture is it sends a signal of weakness, makes her look lesser of a person than him, maybe exchange of books should have been done at a later date not on this particular day, nobody said role your eyes at GEJ but looks like She has a plan. We all know she does not stand a chance of winning the election so its more like ''remember I was very friendly while I was your opponent'' which could mean ''any ministerial job for your girl''? which further means she does not appear like she has the courage to address the main issues in the presence of GEJ. Look at her response to the issue of corruption, actually not just her, all of then that day spoke like kids infront of their teacher, like if they speak their mind, right there GEJ will lock them up.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Because of this woman humility and sense of reasoning, I highly recommend her for ministerial post during GEJ second term. I think she will be a good tool for the continuity of the Transformation.
