Former Governor Nyako blasts EFCC for declaring him wanted

Earlier today, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, released a statement saying former Adawama state governor, Murtala Nyako is wanted for stealing, abuse of office and money laundering. (see here). Mr. Nyako has reacted, blasting EFCC and saying declaring him wanted is the 'last kicks of a dying horse".

Mr. Nyako spoke to Premium Times through his media assistant, Ahmed Sajoh
"I am not aware of being declared wanted. But that is good. If you are wanted by a rouge system, it means you are a good person. Has this government gone after anybody that is bad? They only run after the good people and allow the bad people to roam around them, live happily and enjoy whatever bad things they are doing.”
The former governor also blasted the government saying he is not surprised that EFCC declared him wanted and said that many more Nigerians will be declared wanted by the government because they are intimidated by the large crowd that turned out for the APC, rally in Yola, Adamawa.

According to him, the Jonathan government is afraid that even when he (Nyako) was no longer in office, the people of Adamawa State still love and support him.
“When the time comes for them to be declared wanted nobody will sympathise with them,” he concluded.

How can a young man like you have a very poor packaging? Do you reside in your village? Exhumation from you stinks of low life who is privileged to work in a cybercàfe in a community centre hence your access to internet. My dear brother, you need exposure.

    1. Nigeria is a funny country. He was declared wanted and then what? They did not arrest him or bring him in for questioning . He even has the time for a press release . Mtcheew! The justice system in Nigeria is a joke ! Don't they know when he lives? If he's being suspected of money laundering, then he should be taken into custody for questioning . I can just imagine the FBI or CIA declaring someone wanted, the suspect will not only elope to a country that has no extradition laws , but he'll make sure he doesn't return .
EFCC is a toothless bulldog !

It is not about witch-hunting. You are one of the corrupt people and very far from the saint you claim (anyway, I'm not surprised afterall all APC members are saints including Tinubu).
By the way if the corruption fighting is starting with you, then I don't think it's a problem because you are as guilty as others.

if you cannot debate on a plain field where the whole country is watching bcos u feel the questions from the panel of judges are biased, whereas your responses are directly yours but no, you blame president Jonathan instead,
if you lose election, its not Inec it's Jonathan,
if u win d battle against Ebola it's not Jonathan, its fashola, but if Fashola cannot complete Lagos State light rail, its not Fashola, its Jonathan,
if EFCC is looking for you its Jonathan...na wa ooooooooooo, everything na President Jonathan...well, if nobody talks about you, then you're nobody!!!

  48. Foolish man..If you are innocent, then go to the EFCC and clear your case. Not that you will be ranting on newspaper. I just hope they follow thru

  49. Stop blabbing correct thief. Go and answer your call. No man is above the law. Am not surprised, anyone that is with Tinubu is more than corrupt. He used Lagos funds to build a hotel running into million of dollars, airline, newspaper house. Only one person and they are busy shouting change. What are they changing, Fashola that is making noise, what has he has done can never be compared to the kind of money that he is sitting on in Lagos state. A beg make them go sit down, no change as far as am concerned. Aregbsola in Osun should go and pay salaries of workers in his state before feeling that all is well with his state
Thank God Amaechi just paid some money to the pensioners he has been owing for several months. It is God that will punish them all, to hell with their change. They should deceive people they will deceive but not me. I know them all, they are all carrying CORRUPT in their middle name.
