Photos from Ariyike Akingbola's annual charity festival

Check out pictures from the 2nd edition of Ariyike Akinbobola's annual charity festival which took place in Dec. at the Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, Lagos where Nigerian Media Personality / Humanitarian, Ariyike Akinbobola created awareness and generated support for 14 Charitable Organisations and communities in Lagos.

This edition was themed: Celebrating with the Children and Building Responsible Leaders. The event which was hosted by Ariyike Akinbobola of Spice TV, VJ Adams of Soundcity, Cute Kimani, MC Maykoos of Unilag 103.1FM and pioneer DJ Ola would go down in history as one of the biggest Charity festivals that have ever been witnessed in Africa with over 1200 guests in attendance, mostly Children from different Orphanages.

Celebrities, Media Personalities and Socialites like Sound Sultan, Rasheed Muri Okunola, Lara Rawa, Taofick Okoya, VJ Adams, Pearl, Moet Abebe, Demola Adedoyin, Tunde Ednut, Layole Oyatogun, Yinka Fashola of Moofa, Young Greyc, Vocal Slender, Yinka Fashola (Moofa), Elenu, Do2dtun of Cool f.m, Emma oh my God of Wazobia FM, Jay Glow, G - girl and more were all present at the event.

The celebrities had interactive sessions with the Children about how to become responsible leaders and the Children had a lot of fun interacting with their favourite Celebrities. Ariyike also unveiled 3 Humanitarian Queens that will work closely with her in 2015 to STAND UP AGAINST CHILD ABUSE AND RAPE and to also provide clean water for Children in rural areas. The 3 Humanitarian Queens (Adebimpe Alafe, Susan Simmons and Ramat Abdullahi) were excited to take up their new roles as they all looked great in dresses by Nigerian fashion Designers, Abbyke Domina, TKinnuda and L'Emirel Couture.

The founders and beneficiaries of each charitable Organisation was given some minutes to do an entertainment presentation and also speak about their charitable organisaton's objectives and vision. The Children from the Orphanages were excited as they thrilled the audience with their different performances from acting to music to dance. There were other fun activities for the kids like dance competition, bouncy castles, pop corn, candy floss, making of loom bands, games (scrabble, ludo, ayo) and there was plenty to eat and drink.

The food, drinks and ice -cream flowed in abundance as Pepsi provided free drinks for everyone and Fanmilk gave out free ice-cream to all the guests. The Children were excited as they all danced to Pharell Williams ''Happy''. Some were crying tears of joy as they received their goodie bags and interacted with Children from other Orphanages and they expressed that they had never experienced an event where they were shown so much love.

The Cakes were supplied by Crown cakes and Frosted Sugar while the bouncy castles, pop corn, candy floss and mascots were supplied by Triple Dees events. There was a drop off corner where gift items were donated to the charitable organisations/communities who needed provisions, clothing items, toiletries e.t.c. The charitable organisations and communities that participated at the 2014 charity festival are: Haven for the Nigerian Child, Stand to End Rape, Earths Haven Care, Red Cross Motherless Babies Home Makoko, Dewdrops Care Development Foundation, Modupe Cole memorial school for the mentally and physically challenged, Stay in School Nigeria, Child Rights Foundation, Fair Life Africa, Lots Charity, Young Leaders Academy, OROL Foundation, Children from Ajegunle and Makoko Communities.
