What do you guys think of Prof Osinbajo as APC VP candidate?

Never heard of him until today...and I've been racking my head since I heard he was the one picked to be Buhari's running mate. Why him though? I keep wondering why not Fashola?

  13. I think they can and will both go a long way. Choosing a Pastor is a great move and major plus for APC. Their chances are kind of high cos now so many people might be confused as to der decision for d election.

Seriously I dnt knw anytn abt the man bt I tink its really a nice political scheming by APC cos they already knew that south south nd south east is already locked down by jonathan, and sice the north is all 4 buhari, the south west becomes the beautifull bride, and I tink givn em the slot of the vp was a smart move by APC, bt 4 the man as a person, I dnt tink he is a good politician, bt who knws mayb wot this country need is nt politicians, time will definitly tell

    ReplyDelete
  23. Fashola would v bin a beta option bt he wasn't pickd cos of d. Muslim/muslim of a thing......it shld v bin oshiomole bt Tinubu want som1 he can control nd dey fink RCCG has crowd so by picking one of dere pastor dey'l d members of d chrch wil vote massively..........well as 4 mi oo Oyo is dere case

    ReplyDelete
  24. The professor looks LOST........lol

    ReplyDelete
  25. The reason is simple. If buhari had pick Fashola it Wud hav bn a muslim-muslim ticket and the christian community won't vote them

Choosing this RCCG pastor is a smart strategy since the church and some Christians will vote.

But then! The VP office is not a sensitive one. The man will simply be in the background and only answer wen Buhari calls.

He won't have any say in any matter unless Buhari passes on (I don't wish him that) and he becomes the president.

The thing is.. people shd not be deceived by this strategy

  29. Oga o, y not Fashola, he would have been a perfect match 4 Buhari. He just brought dis Prof out from no where, any way, there is God.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Prof Osinbajo, is a good candidate... Governor Fashola remains tthe best candidate but a muslim-muslim ticket in this era of religious violence will not go well for the desired change we need. Fashols can still an impact if we vote out Okupe Bastard; Abati. Prodigal; President Jonathan is just unfortunate to be surrounded by wolves all in the name of advisers. We need to sweep them out and bring the desired change Nigeria needs.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 1. Fashola is a muslim. And since he is a xtian, no doubt abt that...this is politic, they know preety well that they will get vote through this man of God.. Its a game now, bakare didn't work well last election so they had no choice to pick a man that is a special assistant to a whole G.O of RCCG...linda it is a big plus 4 them... Am so sure 45 percent of RCCG members that want to vote GEJ before will vote 4 this man of God and come nxt year u see APC @ the top...am proud to say am number 1 member that do not support GEJ again cos of the wah GMB did today... 32. Linda your ignorance amazes me. You have always resided in Lagos and you don't know a man that was the Attorney General when you were in your twenties!

  39. Buhari is just trying to play games
He wants to use a pastor to win election
    Then after wining even tinubu
Is going to suffer for it I bite u

    ReplyDelete
  40. Buhari knws wat he's doing..he just want to get d attention of Christians,I feel sorry for this pastor cos he's just been used.He doesn't even look smart..i don't see them defeating GEJ.anyways time shall tell

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hi Linda, i am not sure if its part of the constitution but Buhari is Muslim, so is Fashola. So a Muslim-Muslim ticket will brand the party a muslim one. But then again , its rubbish. All we need are people of unquestionable character to lead the country out of the doom. That said, i am a fan of Fashola, but never for Buhari. My vote goes to GEJ.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Fashola is a muslim so he could never have picked Fashola,he needed a christian cos its nt only muslim dt is in Nigeria,Nigeria has 2 most recognised Religion, christian and muslim,if he had picked fashola, christians will not vote for him cos they will think he will islamise Nigeria, but to me,Oshibanjo is a good man,he has been a good man so far ,so I think the man is the right choice,do u even think vice presidents have more say?no they don't,cos Buhari might not give room for that, the parrty controls them, its like parliamentry system of Government in decision making, but ithink Buhari is a strong man,and if he gives room for Oshibanjo,Nigeria will be so good cos,he is an activist,A lawyer who knows the right of the people, and a true pastor who knows wht the bible well,I pray they change Nigeria,if they are voted in.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Not Fashola because we same Nigerians saying why not fashola will later say Buhari is a fanatic for picking A muslim.

VP has to create the balance Fashola will be a minister in the Government so he isnt out.

    ReplyDelete
  52. It cant be Fashola cos of Muslim Muslim tinz I fink tho. APC has played another card for PDP reason been that He is a xtain not an ordinary one but a Pastor from RCC whc I fink RCC is d largest church in nijia now so as a voter if u didn't belief in Buhari u wil belief in Him. And I believed majority of RCC members wil vote for him. RCC all over Nigeria will campaign for APC " my view" waliygine@yahoo.com

There is only one choice. It is clear.

An Igbo youth. Each time I travel from Onitsha to Enugu then to Aba, I reaffirm my commitment to vote out GEJ.

I don't expect Buhari to be the Saviour. Am just motivated to punish this old way of doing things.

  58. Linda, the is the good for the game..APC played wisely on this..believe it of not, religion is very 'critical' issue in Nigeria.it will be a disaster for the party to have a Muslim as president and vice president..many people believe that Islam want to take over the country and APC choosing a muslim as Buhari;s running mate will do them bad.i think the man he picked is ok, just that he looks some how,but thats not a problem though.

  90. Buhari is looking for pastors to give him a sheep's clothing to cover his wolf and viper self and intentions!!! Osinbajo may be a good man like Bakare though less controvertial and more intellectual, the intention of Tinubu (the thief) and Buhari (the bigot) is to us this man to woo christians and especially redeemed members vote. The utterrances, actions and inactions of Buhari in the past has already exposed who he is and his intentions. For a 72yr old man to come out and say Abacha was not corrupt despite evidence to the contrary tells a lot about his so called anti corruption stand!!! Even my 10 yr old nephew can write an article on Abacha's corruption and misdeeds. Nigerians shine your eyes!!!

  101. Linda, know it that religion is very important aspect of Nigeria politics. They feel that when christians hear that the vp is frm redeemed, our hearts wil melt to vote for apc. They keep making mistakes, later they'll blame pdp of rigging. Buhari is too old to rule us.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Hmmmm, me too till today. Obumnemeudeze@gmail.com

    ReplyDelete
  103. I don't get it. Nigerians are way past the religion thing. We need people who will work irrespective of their tribe or religion. I was hoping it would be Fashola but with this I am quite disappointed. I guess i won't be voting for any candidate.

    ReplyDelete
  104. dat man cnt be nigeria VP is APC blind so shout laughing like a fool

    ReplyDelete
  105. Linda..i dont expect this kind of question. Choosing Fashola will make APC lose. PDP will move in and play the religious card if they do. And i tell you the population of people with your kind of mentality that will choose competence over religion is very marginal. Stop shouting Fashola Fashola as if you dont know the dynamics of Nigerian Politics...

    ReplyDelete
  106. Honestly Linda,I think its a wonderful choice, tho I personally would have preferred Fashola as his running mate,

But Even at that, speaking Honestly,Nigeria is in a lot of mess and I think what can save us now are the extreme measures.

Buhari is said to be a Strong and Devoted Muslim,Pastor Prof too is a Strong and a Devoted Christian,I think in their case,Iron will sharpen Iron and when one wants to fall, the other can use his will power to get him back on track.
Nigeria is at a position where we need people who can not be Corrupted, people that have Integrity, people that will push and make any public officer pay for their incompetence and nonchalance,we need a Good and Positive Change and I think these two can do us some good, let us just think and support them...I mean what is the worst that can happen to Nigeria that hasn't happened?should we now just fold our arms and let GEJ mislead us for another 4 years?

And to those saying a Pastor shouldn't go in to Politics,I wanna say that if God wants to use a Pastor to sanitize and clean the dirt and filth in the Nigerain system then it is perfectly ok,these are Difficult times for Nigeria now and we need Extreme measures and Iron hand to get back our Lost Glory.

The name Prof Osinbajo doesnt ring a bell unlike the big goons of the game.He was just a highly favoured man.I did a brief findings about the man, here are my report; He is a prominent man of God,a senior pastor in RCCG.A professor of Law in Unilag. He served as a UN memberHe is currently an Ethics
    Advisor to the Ethics
    Committee of the African
    Development Bank and is a
    non-executive Director of

they are tryna make pple forget that the aim of the major candidate is to islamise 9ja, ie d spread of sharia law throughput nigeria. is that what we want???

I suspect he (the vp candidate) would end up as a figure head, and would only support what the President wants to do, its d president that counts and not the vp, how often do u hear the vp this or the vp that,

the inclusion of the pastor is just to get xtians votes and its even possible something happens and the vp is replaced later on or is just dormant..... as dormant as GEJ was as a VP b4 he became acting president and then president

  134. they picked him bcos they think or they wanna sway the large xtian populace esp bcos he is a redeemed pastor, so all redeemed members would be on board.... SIMPLE!!!

  135. hmmm, something doesn't look right about dem two. he looks like one who will be intimidated and would not even have a say in the affairs of the country but will enjoy the title of VP

  136. Am as shocked as you Linda, I was thinking he'll pick Fashola. I've never heard about the name before, by the way I heard Rotimi Amechi fainted when he heard the news

    ReplyDelete
  137. Linda has been wondering: "Why not Fashola?"
Answer: Because Christian Nigerians who make up about 50%(or more)of the electorates DO NOT want a Muslim-Muslim Ticket (FULLSTOP). So stop the wondering, ma.

  138. You mean you have never heard of Prof Osibanjo and you say you are a journalist or se na blogger? Na wa for you Linda oh

  140. I think Buhari is trying to gain the trust of the christian populace in nigeria, a lot of whom see him as a religious fundamentalist. This move is obviously an attempt to score some points with christians and also secure the vote of the southwest region

    ReplyDelete
  141. Linda he has been selected. The only reason why Fashola was not was because of religion. Much as I disagree with disqualifying people on religious grounds we have to agree the country its current state is not ready for a Muslim/Muslim ticket. Prof Osibajo is very erudite and I must say he as good as Fashola. The only difference is that he hasn't served in a capacity as big as governorship. I've listened to him once and was blown away.

  142. haba linda, how can you say u ve never heard of yemi osibanjo who was the former attorney general of lagos state, pastor of one of the biggest redeem parish in lagos, an artivist with a very big law firm in Nierian plus he is SAN and former HOD in Unilag. As for why he was choose over fashola l think it is cos he is a christian nd fashola is a muslim APC cant afford to ve 2muslim candidate. Reddeem has such a large population of members all over the world and l bet you they will support one of their own. Finally this man is incorruptable , he has friends accross the country especially lawyers, pastors and lectures

  147. Me too have not heard of him before. Why not Fashola is APC's internal politics.

I think everything is still Buhari, because Vice, Deputy is not always heard of in this country.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Hmmmm, APC daris God oooo. Bcos they knew RCCG has the highest number of church and probably worshipers, they decided to pick vice from there. Hmmmmmm, anyways they won't succeed bcos God is not a respecter of man. Shekina.

  151. Fashola is a muslim. It can b two muslims being d President and d VP. Since I don't know anything about d Pst other than what I've read on your previous posts about him, I'll not say anything 4 now.

    Jesus is Lord.

  155. Political gimmicks! He's a pastor, the Christians will vote for him and the Muslims will vote for Buhari, more votes = Buhari becomes the president. And then he will choose his real VP when he gets there. This dude is not really a politician so he will give him less trouble when it's time to get rid of him.
And the gullible Nigerians will sheepishly buy into the stupid plan even though one will think that they should be able to see that someone is carefully trying to play smart. Why must he always use a pastor and not just anyone? Because Nigerians need to be fooled and he is not taking any chances!

    ReplyDelete
  156. Nobody knew Fashola before he was suddenly picked by Tinubu. But look how well he turned out to be. Look at d bright side, this man is probably the first and most educated person we have at d pinnacle of power since d history of Nigeria democracy. *Fingers crossed*

    ReplyDelete
  157. Linda, this your statement is stupid. I'm beginning to think you are too.

    ReplyDelete
  158. He could not have picked Fashola as his VP because a muslim-muslim ticket would not give them a winning chance

    ReplyDelete
  159. Hmm.... Everybody wants Fashola but it mustn't be Fashola. Btw, i fink its a gud combination.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Besides, you APC people are really annoying me o... A small broom not even up 2 a handful was sold 2 me for #100 today. You guys should just stop!!

  163. Linda dearie, without sounding biased, i think this is a complete game changer with regards to this elections 2015! Truly, Prof is a very decent and simple Man even as a Pastor. I've met him once and have been privileged to listen to him share God's word! I think APC 's choice just secured them a front row seat ...... #myopinon iyaoyinda1@yahoo.com

  164. linda if fashola is comin out! twuld be as president nt vc! aswear buhari wil gladly loose dis shii* pdp all d way

    ReplyDelete
  165. I think first that the APC guys are very smart. They thought of the fact that RCCG has almost the largest congregation as long as church is concerned in Nigeria. They want to tactically lure Christians into voting GMB ( e no go work). For me, they can only try! 2011 it was with Bakare...2015 it is Osinbajo...2019 it will be...? #TeamGej

    ReplyDelete
  166. Lmao!!! Fake people! Buhari is just uusing their heads

    ReplyDelete
  167. The Reason is simple. RCCG(redeemed Christian Church of God) has a good number of population in Nigeria and with their votes, APC is one step closer 2 ASO rock! And trust Nigerians, with the rate at which they follow religion, they will believe the man is a righteous candidate! Period!!

    ReplyDelete
  168. Change is all we call for....vote for change

    ReplyDelete
  169. I think he's a good choice.Fashola would have been better but nigerians would bring religion into it and that would give pdp the edge they seek. But the man looks like these small stubborn people o...lol.Short prof..I sure say him no go dey gree easily.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Prof Osibanjo is a professsor at Unilag, Faculty of Law where i schooled and also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria. He is indeed a great man of honour & respect.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Gosh! What are all these old people holding on to politics in this new age? This is so pathetic, I swear!!!! Why won't they let younger generation context and move the country forward? This is pathetic...look at this old withered man he nominated as his running mate. He couldn't find a more capable young-minded youth to run with? Sad for Nigeria...same old bullsh!t!

    ReplyDelete
  172. There may be other reasons, but for me, its political...to win the hearts of Christians, especially those who attend RCCG, and if possible (which I doubt), get the endorsement of Pastor Adeboye. We all know in the past, President Goodluck Jonathan went to Pastor Adeboye for prayers over his political ambition...Now I hear Buhari is also planning to go to Pastor Adeboye for his...

  173. Why him though? Are you a goat? Linda?

    ReplyDelete
  174. Madam Linda, if APC had picked Fashola, it would have been a muslim-muslim ticket, which would have raised eyebrows and reduced their chances.
Osibajo appears a great small man. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  175. The prospect of prof osinbajo vice presidency is exciting. He comes with intimidating credentials and impeccable track record
