Mavin Crew, Chaka Demus, Freddie Jackson, Headline 8th Edition of the Corporate Elite Nite

Notable Nigerian brands, including MTN, are set to treat their customers to a great night of live music from international superstars of the 90s and Nigerian artistes, this Sunday, November 23rd, at the Corporate Elite Nite, holding at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island.

The artistes performing at the high value event are the R & B quartet of 112, from Georgia, and the funk band, ‘Cameo’, based in New York. The soulful Freddie Jackson, one-time recipient of the American Music Award for Favourite Soul/ R & B Single, will also be performing, alongside deep soulful house band, Micasa, from South Africa. Jamaican early 90s superstar duo, Chaka Demus & Pliers, and MTN Brand Ambassadors including the Mavins are also on the bill for the event.

According to Paul Okoye, CEO, Upfront & Personal, the event organisers, “the concert is billed to bring back the thrilling moments of great music which the 80s and 90s were known for. It will also serve as a platform for business leaders, top executives, heads of government functionaries and stakeholders in the entertainment industry to interact and enrich their network and relax in an exclusive atmosphere”.

In the past, the event has featured artistes such as Joe Thomas, Kool and the Gang, Tevin Campbell, Maxi Priest, Billy Ocean,Mafikizolo and Sir Shina Peters. The artistes performing this year are highly rated. The ‘112’ band won the Grammy Award in 1997; Cameo thrived in an era that boast Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder. Chaka Demus and Pliers are reputed to be the first Jamaican act to have three consecutive songs on the UK Top-10 singles Chart and their careers blossomed internationally in the 90s. a
