Gov Fashola declares Nov. 7 public holiday for civil servants to get their voter's card

Governor Fashola has declared Friday November 7, as holiday for all public servants in the state, so that they can collect their Permanent Voter Card (PVC) from INEC.

Distribution of the PVCs holds from Friday, 7 till Sunday, November 9. He also appealed for the private sector to close early so that members of staff can go and pick up their cards. The governor also urged eligible voters from age 18 and above, to register.
“You have to register as a voter to be eligible to vote. We must take it seriously to make sure our names are in the voters register. Go to the polling centre to collect your PVC. No business or job can be more important than to collect your PVC. Between November 7 and 9, those who want to collect the PVC, should go out and collect them”, he said.
Those who lost their temporary voter’s card or have not registered before, can do so when INEC conducts fresh registration between 12 and 17 November.

    1. Exactly! This is totally uncoordinated as usual. There's no information regarding Anon 7:08pm's question. They have said to go and pick up where you registered. What is you have moved to a totally new LG or to another state? This is where the so called database they created should come in handy. Voter can just go to the nearest polling station with proof of change of address and they can update your information. Or is there available info out there anyone can refer to?

  24. This is ridiculously uncoordinated. Just got this broadcast this morning:

INEC has decided to suspend until the 22nd of Nov, the issuance of Permanent voters card PVC in the following 9 local governments ; Apapa, Amuwo Odofin, Alimosho, Badagry, Epe, Eti Osa, Oshodi-Isolo, Somolu, & Surulere. If you however live in the remaining eleven 11 local governments, Agege, Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Ibeju-Lekki, Ifako-Ijaye, Ikeja, Ikorodu, Kosofe, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, Mushin, and Ojo. Kindly go out to collect your PVC from Friday the 7th to Sunday 9th of November 2014.

Also heard it on radio yesterday. This their last minute decisions are very inconsiderate especially for those of us who employ in the private sector!
