Dangote Group reduces cement price from N1700 to N1000

For those of you who the price of cement has been stopping you from building, Dangote Cement Plc has announced a 41% reduction in the prices of cement, with the different grades now selling for between N1,000 and N1,150, exclusive of Value Added Tax. Now, 50kg of the 32.5 cement grade sells for N1,000, while the higher 42.5 grade will go for N1,150 per bag instead of the current N1,700 that both grades were sold for.

The new price structure was announced by the Group MD, Dangote Cement, Mr. Devakumar Edwin, who said
“We recognise the need for a dramatic increase in the response to the huge infrastructure and housing deficit in the country, and one of the ways of addressing the issue is bringing the price of building materials down to much more affordable levels, especially cement, which is within our own control as part of our contribution to the transformation agenda of the President Goodluck Jonathan administration and the attainment of key milestones in the Millennium Development Goals.”

    8. Dangote is only trying to mop up the cement industry. He will drive the price down, run Lafarge Wapco its biggest competitor that has been producing from time immeorial out of business. Cause massive unemployment and then jack up the price x 2. Nigerian's shine your eyes. Dangote did it in d sugar industry, tried unsucessfully against indomine he is at it again. Used SON against local cement producers unsucessfully. Couldnt get his way in Court with all intrigues. My Country men sidon dey look drama. Narcissi Capitalist

  61. Just another one of his ploy to drive his competitors away,I bet you it ain't no favour to any Nigeria.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Its high time to say no to Dangote’s way of doing business. Dangote shld stop fooling Nigerians. Yes! Its good he reduced the price of cement. But is it by sending his dealers/distributors/competitors to early grave, and bankrupting them???
Dangote cant keep robbing Peter to pay Paul! He made his cement dealers to borrow money and sell properties; to participate in the 6 weeks lifting bonus he offered them. The dealers stocked all Dangotes cement until nothing left. They bought at 1635 per bag, and Dangote reduced the cement price to 1000, just 24 hours after the bonus ended. What a wicked man??? He didn’t even give them space to sell. He didn’t even consider the poor cement traders in remote villages. Im sure none of them will be in business again; that is if they wont die of heart attack. Loosing millions to a greedy man that claims to be richest in Africa???
This is pure 419! Broad day robbery! Just because he wanna get on his competitors……Larfarge, Ibeto etc. Nigeria’s market regulators, EFCC, Govt etc shld look into this case (CEMENT MONPOLY). Dangote diaris God ooooo!!!

Kill competitors and render their eemployees jobless. After 2015 elections, cement price will forward match to 5,000.They know we are gullibe, and i'm sure is our tax payers money that he will get tax rebate and all(robbing Peter to pay Paul).I will buy and will still not vote GEJ. No thanks to you.You want to kill ur competitors!!!
