Kaduna armourer arrested for selling police weapons to criminals commits suicide in cell

Deputy Superintendent of Police Nanbol Audu, who was the officer in charge of the Kaduna Armory, has killed himself days after he was paraded with two others for stealing and selling police weapons to criminals and rich people in the state. He was paraded this past Monday October 27th

DSP Audu, an officer who had served in the police force for 30 years and was due to retire in five years, shot himself in the stomach around 5.40am today October 31st inside his detention cell at the police headquarters in Kaduna, it was announced on radio today. The state police commissioner Umar Shehu confirmed the incident.

According to the state police commissioner Umar Shehu, the three men were arrested on October 20th as they tried to leave with 11 rifles that had been provided by DSP Audu from the state armory.
A search on them by other suspicious police officers revealed the stolen armory and N400,000 cash. When interrogated, Audu confessed to the crime and said he provided the guns to the men for personal protection from the Fulani herdsmen who were killing his people in Jos, Plateau state.

  70. who provided him with a gun to shoot himself in detention? may be he is boko haram and they silenced him to avoid exposure

    ReplyDelete
  71. How the hell did he killed him self with a gun in detention? Naija i hail thee!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Apparently the police think we are stupid.

    Point 1
How did he get hold of a gun while in a detention cell?

    Point 2
No one commits suicide by shooting themselves in the stomach.
Holding a gun that way is awkward at best, and it will not kill you quickly, if it kills you at all.
And a policeman with 30 years experience would know this.

    Conclusion:
He didn't kill himself, he was murdered.

    The question is by whom?
Other policemen who were angry at his selling guns to possible criminals?
His accomplices, who were doing the business with him and wanted to shut him up?

    Either way, the situation smells.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Has anyone considered thay the guy may have been framed? Sometimes under torture you could be persuaded to confess to things. My guess is that he offended some top people or was planning to expose them selling the guns and they took care of him. This os making sure he doesn't go to court.

    ReplyDelete
  88. He had a gun in the cell and decided to shoot himself? Akuko mbe na agu!

    ReplyDelete
  89. The only way that Kaduna police command can prove this, is to show life evidence of this accusation and the deceased confession. And why are the names of the 2 others not mention? And the big question is how did he got a gun under detention? It appears that this man either accused falsely or he has bossy collaborator that are afraid of being exposed. Therefore they kill him. The sad issue is that, no one will investigate this further.
