Spanish priest infected with Ebola in Liberia dies in hospital

The 75 year old Spanish priest who was infected with the Ebola virus in Liberia and evacuated to Spain to get better treatment has died, a Madrid spokeswoman from Madrid Health authorities said this morning.

Fr. Miguel Pajares, who was airlifted from Liberia on August 7 after contracting the disease while working for a non-governmental organization in the African country started using the experimental drug, Zmapp last Saturday 9th August but sadly lost the battle to the deadly virus. He was being treated at Carlos III hospital Madrid where he had been quarantined since his return from Liberia.

This will be the first European that has died from the recent outbreak of the deadly virus.

  47. In good and bad times, we have to give thanks to God. The Zmapp was not administered on him from the onset they started treating him with it on the 9th of August and the Ebola had eaten deep in his system. But all the same, we thank God for a life well spent in his vineyard and pray that God Almighty would grant him eternal rest in his bossom IJN. Adieu Padre!

  49. Humanly speaking, i think the best way to curb this menace is for federal government to declare 2 weeks long curfew before things get out of hand while it will only be the health workers and military/paramilitary (all properly insured) that go to work and rides on the roads when necessary. Anyone or family with ebola signs will be known and properly cared for. Mind you i know a lot of things will be affected but.....
    My humble opinion.

  52. His immune system was already destroyed before he started using the drugs. He must have had the virus longer in his system than the Americans who are showing signs of recovery.

  53. 75years of age is not a friend when it comes to infectious diseases no matter the efficacy of the drug. Rest in peace, Father.

  56. I search through the bible from genesis to Revelation.every where They had out break of pestilence, plague, etc .was as result of sin.
Gods anger manifest in form of plague and pestilence .
it is a pity all what we are hearing is a deadly virus .but we are too blind to see the Angel of the wrath of God
the bible says a plague is gone out from God.
what do you think will follow all these
Every where is painted with innocent blood
The cry of blood is disturbing the heaven every second
You cannot count houses in Nigeria where innocent soul of human beings are tied down as a result of human ritual for money and political office's
innocent girls are kidnapped turned to sex machine and suicide bomber
human being are been slaughter like goat every where and people are celebrating it.
human being are sleeping with animals
ladies celebrity are blocking the traffic of angel with their nickedness
    Gay marriage
a man married her own mother
what of embezzlement only one person swallowing money meant for millions of people
    kidnapping
    Terrorist
    committing suicide
    Trangender
    Demonic healings and miracles
how many are we going to mention
you think that. God will be clapping for us for all these .
The only solution is to repent and to cry for mercy..woe unto any, prophet crying for peace when there is no repentant.God is angry.let all the preachers suspend prosperity preaching now .preach repentance.preach mercy.preach holiness.sunnymike1200@live.com

Say hi 2 Jesus n frds. Btw I hrd 5 of d patients infected in lagos r responding to treatments. My question is; what sort of treatments? if its true den we have hope in Nigeria. If its not true,...well we just have to hold on to Yahweh. Thanks. #Tyndase
