Photos: 15 Chibok girls admitted into AUN Academy on scholarship

According to former vice president Atiku Abubakar, 15 of the Chibok girls who escaped from Boko Haram abductors have been been admitted into the American University of Nigeria Academy in Yola, Adamawa state on a scholarship. Great stuff!

    1. You are so dumb & parochial in thinking. Do you have any kind of proof whatsoever that he or 'they' have anything to do with the whole trouble? People like you are just the reason why Nigeria is where it is-a wasted, guilless, gutless, suspicious generation. They have so fed your psyche with trash sentiments while they loot u blind.

    7. If you go back to the list released by the govt, you'll find out that most of the girls are Xtians, judging by their names. The scarves they wore in the pictures is just the normal way of dressing in the north. Is your hatred because you think they're Muslims or because they're Northerners? Either way, they're human beings and Atiku has shown some level of compassion which is what the girls need. You should be ashamed of the hatred in your heart. I'm sure if I ask you, you'll tell me you go to church.

      Btw, I'm a Southerner.

  16. Trust me am happy for the girls, and i wish them well. But if you ask me i would say the government is not entirely fair to us who have no political dealings with them. i bet you if bokoharam agrees to amnesty they would all be given a scholarship to even an ivy league school. But what about giving a scholarship to the average citizen, who isn't necessary a victim or an inflictor of a national problem.

  74. okay, open criticisms are always good and healthy cause then when we have that, we tend to know the different perspectives of different people. I never comment on posts like this but I just have to. Atiku might be doing this because of the elections and other reasons known to him, and him alone. As someone who is part of this experience, I would answer some questions and speculations. First of all, those are not the girls, it's just a picture of students at the academy, yes the girls really do exist because I have seen them and I work hand in hand with them, they have obviously gone through some sort of trauma that is why they are being put under close observation, they have not been admitted directly into the university, they are currently being tutored individually on their English and Maths skills (they are under intensive English workshops) The ones that do well, in these workshop will be able to write the upcoming WAEC and will then be admitted into the University, the others that don't do too well will be admitted into the Secondary School which is the AUN Academy, either SS1, SS2, or SS3 depending on how they are evaluated. The American University of Nigeria does not insult the sensibility of the citizens of this country, the University have taken this into serious consideration and have made these girls feel as comfortable as mush as possible.like I said, this is not to diss the people who have decided to criticize this act but to explain to them that it's not how they see it and answer some questions as an insider.
