Nigerian man quarantined in Hong Kong over Ebola

A Nigerian man was quarantined today in Hong Kong after he showed Ebola-like symptoms during a trip to the city. The man who arrived Hong Kong from Lagos on Thursday August 7th via Dubai, was isolated in a hospital after severe vomiting and suffering from diarrhoea. He later tested negative for Ebola.

In a statement released today, the Southern Chinese city government said the 32 year old man, whose name was not given, had "tested negative for Ebola virus upon preliminary laboratory testing".
"In the past one month ... he had no contact history with sick persons or animals and did not visit health-are facilities. He is currently in stable condition." the statement read
Two weeks ago, the Hong Kong government said it would quarantine as a precaution all people from Ebola-infected areas who showed any symptom of the disease.

  7. The fear of Ebola is the the beginning of healthy living. Hong Kong had an Epidemic sometimes ago killing over 300 people so I quite understand Hong Kong government.

  8. Hmmm. My fear is that as misinterpreted malaria might land somebody at that Ebola home. They should be careful while going about this.

  10. They will quarantine him for another 21 days, by then he will not have time to go for his wholesale(business) purchase of goods because his return ticket will come calling- time's up, time's up. Why did he eat unfamiliar food?

  17. The government should quarantine the immigration officers and airport officials that must have had contact with Liberia man at the point of entry Nigeria, is very important. This immigration officers and airport officials definitely did check on his international passport and travel documents, I believe customs and other airport officials must have check his luggage. This is very important. Airport officials may like carry the virus ebola and start spreading to others coming into Nigeria, and to friends and family or anyone they had contact with. because by law, you must submit your travel documents and by law officials must check your luggage. Let us pray and also learn to stop the spread of this deadly epidemic called ebola. We shall win this fight

  45. We all need to be careful with how much we think about this virus...Just like every other disease that came and is now gone, so shall ebola. noticed i used small letters for the freakish disease? That's the idea, we all should not blow this out of proportion like some people are already doing. Remember EVERY name bows at the name of JESUS and that includes ebola. listen to Loveworld Internet Radio
