According the eye-witness who sent in the photos, two civilians were allegedly beaten up and a guy who was taking pictures was beaten and his phone smashed on the express road.
Then the soldiers allegedly started vandalizing the buses! According to the source, some soldiers left the express and took big sticks from women cooking by the roadside to break the windows of the buses. Then one of them took stones and allegedly threw it into the crowd twice. Now the whole express is blocked. See more exclusive photos from the chaos after the cut...

I usually don't post cos linda u don't post my comments.in fact as a result I stopped.but this news is disturbing so I must comment. these soldiers always do dis rubbish when anything happens to one of them.why are they not in Chibok.why are they not venting their anger on boko haram.boko haram has killed many of them, why didn't they go to those camps to fish out boko haram members?why will they always beat up civilians?why is it that the Government is not doing anything?the soldiers that did this should be brought to book! People should take their photographs and send their shameless faces to all blogs. Our soldiers should be sent to chibok, they should learn how to fight suicide bombers and boko haram and bring sanitity to our great country. Cowards!
ReplyDeleteLinda this is seriously true, the riot is still on, the soldiers even took one brt along with them, and damaged so many. God dey o.
ReplyDeleteNa waaa let someone just stout Boko not adding the haram all of them will be seen no more.
ReplyDeleteOr are soldiers above the law?that's how (in lagos) they and other force members enter buses free of charge..please we need their pictures on blogs! Those that carried sticks to break windscreen, and fight civilians.its so annoying..and most times these so-called soldiers go scot free..Gov Fashola and Gej must do something.send 50 % of the soldiers in nigeria to the north to fight the insurgents
ReplyDeleteUseless people...if it's to fight boko haram...they will all run away..but to fight defenceless civilian they will be at the peak....
ReplyDeletethe alleged brt bus broke down since yesterday afternoon nd yet to be towed from the road. The soldier ran into the brt in the middle of the nite around past 2. Ikorodu road is in chaos rite nw
ReplyDeleteyou see, slap one soldier man in less than 10 minutes you have them at your doorsteps in thousands. But go to Maiduguri where there insurgence. Insurgents will operate for hours without a glimpse of any of these bastard called themselves soldiers. They are very good at intimidating civilians!
ReplyDeleteIn fact i will have to trek down to anthony bus stop before i could see bus to ikeja
ReplyDeleteThere are no words to describe the degree of lawlessness in this country. Imagine soldiers doing this in broad daylight. If it were in the United States, they will be court martialed. I feel for their colleague but beating everyone is totally un-called for.
ReplyDeleteHa ha even tho ds rubbish
ReplyDeletehmmmmmnnnnn, Federal Government dey look for fashola trouble ooo... another court gbege
ReplyDelete#FemiFex4PDP .... FEMIFEX@GMAIL.COM
Is there no iota of shame in the Nigerian Military System? Rather than act according to law they take laws into their hands yet they cant curb insurgence in North. Mere civilians are they prey while the REAL EVILS are left..Wow!! What a country
ReplyDeleteI dnt knw why d ppl assigned for security can turn out to be d ones cusin problems. They act as if dey are unquestionable. I'v experienced a similar circumstance too bside my place at coker

Civilization doesn't exist in their dictionary and to think that boys like them are in sambisa bringing them to their knees is a shame.Civilians are always their prey!
ReplyDeleteThose bastards be acting as if they are gods. Dont blame them it is because of impunity. Only in Africa especially naija such rubbish will happen. All they do is harras innocent unarmed civilians, but when they see boko they take to their heels i sometimes wonder if we are in military or democratic regime
ReplyDeleteStupid soldiers instead of them to carry their skills go Sambisa forest #bring back our girls# they are here oppressing the poor civilians. If soldiers wan show muscle make them face boko boys.
ReplyDeleteAccidents are bonds to happen.just becos they are on uniforms gives them the right to act that way
ReplyDeleteChai, never look 4 a soldier trouble and also single girls pls don't marry a soldier ooo ehnn.
ReplyDeleteI wish they cld display this attitude towards BH that kill hundreds of their colleagues
ReplyDeleteGood for them, those drivers need a good beat up, those guys drive like Fashola gave them a license to kill Lagosians, was tryna link the express once and the BRT driver almost crushed us on full speed. The reason they have a seperate lane is so they can drive at a reasonable speed uninterrupted and be on time for the next bus stop.
ReplyDeleteJungle justice everywhere even soldiers what a same ! May God see d wounded soldier 2ru.
ReplyDeleteI saw the crushed bike in front of the BRT bus this morning but there wasnt anybody on the floor at that time.
ReplyDeletegra gra.. they should send all the soldiers involved in this to Sambisa to go and bring back our girls. Rubbish!

ReplyDeleteHow in God's name am I supposed to feel sorry for the dead army now after the stupid displayed by his colleagues. Imagine what a place this would be if we all threw tantrums like that when we lose loved ones. I'm sure some of them night not have known the guy. It just goes to show how lawless this country truly is. Imagine the irony, the people who are supposed to be protecting us. May the man's soul rest in peace, that is if his colleauges will let it.
ReplyDeleteSoldiers are in lagos flexing their muscles when they are suppose to be maiduguri battling it out with BH. There is God o.

ReplyDeleteRemind me which country it is...Nigeria. No problem. Shit happens. We will get over it.
ReplyDeleteNonentities in uniforms. they are only strong against civilians, ask them to go face boko haram, you then see they are nothing but cowards!!! shame.
ReplyDeleteYes ooo linda,I was a witness too! U need 2 see hw d soldiers behaved, tooo bad!
ReplyDeleteNonentities in uniforms, they are only strong against civilians. ask them to go and face boko haram and you will see they are just cowards.
ReplyDeleteWhat sort of non-sense attitude is this?? in as much as im not in support of the brt bus crushing anybody on the road, its also a clearly stated law in lagos state and an offense for any bike to ply any express road in lagos state irrespective of who u re just to avoid such an occurrence...Soldiers always think they are above the law and they do whatever they like...Most of them even ply on the brt lane which is an offense as well....I stongly frown at this attitude and the lagos state govt should look into this matter..Thank God BRT is owned by the govt....Nonsense ppl...#Angry..
ReplyDeleteNawa oo..evri day new drama..................................#KingOfKings
ReplyDeletechoi!! Linda no be small thing o, God saved many people this morning. I was in that traffic for 2hours, we all had to reverse on the highway and took the service lane, which was not safe too. Most BRT bus drivers are very reckless. One almost bashed me yesterday along Ikorodu road. They always leave their dedicate lanes to join the normal lanes without caution as if they own all the Lagos roads.
ReplyDeleteSomething was covered with green leaves on the ground, not too sure if he is dead. God please preserve his life.
Foolish soldiers, they should head to Sambisa if they have all these powers to damage things and beat helpless BRT drivers. Na only civilians they fit threaten... Mtschew
ReplyDeletena wa o zombi boiz can take laws into their hands sha.
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine people that suppose to secure the masses are the ones causing chaos. How many civilians have been killed by these useless soldiers (uniformed men) and nothing was done. Dair is God sha

Deletefashola bus drivers are too reckless. I av witnessed their recklessness @ some point. They have to be cautioned.
ReplyDeletesoldiers also don't have to throw caution to the wind.
Is that the solution?damaging cars and beating people what's d need mtcheww

ReplyDeleteSOLDIERS HAVE ALREADY TURNED THE BRT LANE ON IKORODU ROAD TO MILITARY LANE, I DO NOT HAVE DETAILS OF THE ACCIDENT BUT THEIR CONDUCT IN PUBLIC PORTRAYS NOTHING CLOSE TO THE ADOPTED APPELLATION OF 'DISCIPLINED FORCE' ASCRIBED TO THEM. IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT SOMEONE HAS TO DIE BEFORE THE THESIS AND ANTHITHESIS WILL LEAD US TO A SYNTHESIS IN THIS MATTER..A FISH CANNOT ACCEPT A HOOK AND ALSO COMPLAIN OF BEING DISTURBED..LUKEMON

You cannot even beat one Boko haram but when it come to innocent Nigeria civilians your Egos goes stronger, burning BRT buses justified how stupid and weak these fucking military are...
ReplyDeleteit was serious oo, nigeria soldiers are jst something else...
ReplyDeleteThey shld fight the boko haram like this and not innocent civilians
ReplyDeleteLagos BRT buses drive really rough; bullying other road users. The soldiers were wrong to destroy government properties. It's time for fashola to address the lack of regard for human life by the bus drivers
ReplyDeleteNigerians!!!! How can a fellow come up an accuse the soldiers turning BRT Lane to Military lane? No b d same Lagos we dey? Haba!!! There is God ooooo.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, BRT drivers needs to go back to driving school, in my language I call them Hire Assassins on the highway. They drive without caution, remorse or care of any sort. They are the so-called King of Lagos road.
For the rampage, it is normal, when you lose a brethren or a family member, if na Agbero person die, d case would b different?
Action Governor over to you.. as una dey talk, "Eko koni baje"

ReplyDeleteSee Ella John. Biko, you guys should not kill us here. Accidents are BONDS to happen. This is it for the day! I cant deal.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the difference then between civilians and military when they can equally portray similar actions. I never expect this from the so called military...Its too appalling
ReplyDeleteWell they need to be thought a lesson in discipline...I so weep for this country, up is down around here. Welcome to Africa. Silly folks thinking they're gods. I think it's time for another peace keeping campaign...maybe in CAR to get their head right.
ReplyDeleteOge Mary, Your dp looks fine and like you work in an offix too. Its easier to type good English than explain why you spell like an illiterate.
ReplyDeleteMr English corrector, can u explain what 'offix' means?
DeleteIn America they revere their soldiers because those guys when they take their pledge, take it seriously. They would literally give their lives to save a citizen but here in Nigeria, soldiers are dreaded like plagues because they are brutal and uneducated! Acts like this shows you reason why the armed forces need to be revamped ASAP!
ReplyDeleteEven the local police re running for their lives....d only person dt can calm those soldiers re their bosses....no one could even stand up to them
ReplyDeleteOver 20years I've been living here in London I have NEVER seen a British soldier on the road, except on TV, glad I left Nigeria. Vandalising buses is that the way to investigate. Moron!
ReplyDeleteSoliders make una take am easy ooo. Dobis112

ReplyDeletehi linda, i was there just about 2hrs ago on my way to work. when i got to the main scene i wind down and asked one of the soldiers what happened. After explaining to me, another female soldier blocked me questioning me why i should be asking questions. I told her that the other soldier told me they killed one of them and i felt sorry. she didnt listen and called other soldiers, they rushed my car with sticks and asked mr to release my phones. I had my laptop at the back seat and my Tablet on the front seat. One soldier grabbed the tablet accusing me of taking pictures. Then amother senior officer asked the female soldier to slap. before i knew it they started beating me up in the car. I managed to drive to palmgroove bustop and parked. You can verify from people there its a green camry car. So I came down with my ID card to go and identfy myslef to the senior officer. He refused to listen and ordered his men to punce on me. I was beaten by more the 10 soldiers and my cloths torn, i had to run for my life and without my Tablet and nokia phone. Right now i am in pains with my nose nose broken one soldier used his knee on mu face. I am writing this so you can help me post it. What happened to me this morning was like a dream... and unbelievable. I am an auditor and i work for Deloitte. I was almost close to my office when this happened and had to divert to a pharmacy where i can be treated. THis is just wickedness.
ReplyDeleteTwo men named Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale killed UK soldier Lee Rigby on London street with a car and then attacked his unconscious body with knives and a meat cleaver, trying to behead him which happened near Woolwich Barracks in south-east London on the afternoon of May 22 but we never heard that any soilders came out of their Barracks to react back or attack anyone but here in Nigeria i don't know what's wrong with these so called soilders and that's how they went on beating innocent people because you are on CAMO or maybe you both crossed each other ways. ZOMBIE ANIMALS
ReplyDeleteMethinks the problem with the military in Nigeria is the way they perceive civilians as superior in intellect but weaker in strength. I wonder if they were forced into the military..sorry Soldiers; you chose your path so live with it and stop taking out your frustration on innocent civilians; just bcos a soldier rammed into a stationary BRT bus on BRT lane; we would not have peace..And these are Soldiers that have commanding Officers in all their formations..A fish really starts to rot from the head.
ReplyDeleteY must a soldier ride a bike on a brt lane? and i thought bike has being bound or soldiers are not bound from it?
ReplyDeleteWhat is the Soldiers doing on a BRT lane that is meant for big bus not bike, Also I thought they have bound bike ?or Soldiers are not included

ReplyDeletewat a country, we must blame both parties, d brt bus driver and d dead soldier, brt lane is for brt buses only and he still plight d lane, brt bus drivers self are very reckless and rough. damaging public properties is nt d way foward.
