Photos: Soldiers on rampage in Palmgrove, damage BRT buses

Some soldiers are currently causing chaos in the Palmgroove area of Lagos. An eye-witness said trouble started when a BRT bus hit a soldier on a bike. Nobody knows if the soldier died (though there are indications that he may have been crushed to death) but other soldiers immediately arrived the scene and started stopping all BRT buses on Ikorodu road beating drivers and sending passengers out. Beating even passers-by who move too close to them or take pictures.

According the eye-witness who sent in the photos, two civilians were allegedly beaten up and a guy who was taking pictures was beaten and his phone smashed on the express road.

Then the soldiers allegedly started vandalizing the buses! According to the source, some soldiers left the express and took big sticks from women cooking by the roadside to break the windows of the buses. Then one of them took stones and allegedly threw it into the crowd twice. Now the whole express is blocked. See more exclusive photos from the chaos after the cut...

  139. hi linda, i was there just about 2hrs ago on my way to work. when i got to the main scene i wind down and asked one of the soldiers what happened. After explaining to me, another female soldier blocked me questioning me why i should be asking questions. I told her that the other soldier told me they killed one of them and i felt sorry. she didnt listen and called other soldiers, they rushed my car with sticks and asked mr to release my phones. I had my laptop at the back seat and my Tablet on the front seat. One soldier grabbed the tablet accusing me of taking pictures. Then amother senior officer asked the female soldier to slap. before i knew it they started beating me up in the car. I managed to drive to palmgroove bustop and parked. You can verify from people there its a green camry car. So I came down with my ID card to go and identfy myslef to the senior officer. He refused to listen and ordered his men to punce on me. I was beaten by more the 10 soldiers and my cloths torn, i had to run for my life and without my Tablet and nokia phone. Right now i am in pains with my nose nose broken one soldier used his knee on mu face. I am writing this so you can help me post it. What happened to me this morning was like a dream... and unbelievable. I am an auditor and i work for Deloitte. I was almost close to my office when this happened and had to divert to a pharmacy where i can be treated. THis is just wickedness.

Two men named Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale killed UK soldier Lee Rigby on London street with a car and then attacked his unconscious body with knives and a meat cleaver, trying to behead him which happened near Woolwich Barracks in south-east London on the afternoon of May 22 but we never heard that any soilders came out of their Barracks to react back or attack anyone but here in Nigeria i don't know what's wrong with these so called soilders and that's how they went on beating innocent people because you are on CAMO or maybe you both crossed each other ways.
