If a woman takes money from her husband without his permission, is it stealing?

If a woman ransacks her husband's wallet, suitcase, pocket...anywhere he keeps money...and takes it without his permission, without telling him, is it stealing? And if a man does same to his wife, can it be called stealing?

If my hubby is not around where his purse is and I want to collect btw 200 and 1k or more depending on how we ar, I will just take it without letting him know. I can take it in his presence witout asking depending on how much oooo. But it I noticed there is not much in his purse I will ask permission b4 taking or report myself after taking. But Linda u know nau if cash plenty there won't be need 4 all these long story. Make we dey for our bobo make them get cash wellu wellu!

  90. People should respect each other even in marraige, it is called stealing as far as am concered, my father provides for my mother very well even use to take care of her siblings but when she started taking money from his drawers with out telling him and even at a time she broke his cupboard and took money without telling him, he was very angry with her and told her to stop she continued and he got himself another woman and she went ballistics, am a woman and I have learnt from that, we all have to give people respect. I am not the type of woman that takes anything from my man without informimg him first and men should do the same to their partners too.
Taking things without permission reeks of disrespect and taking someone for granted.

I stand for take permission first before taking.

  97. It is capital stealing!! No man shd touch my money without my consent in the name of marriage and will never touch his. Me and my partner operates " on your own" system when it comes to money matter and i loooooove it that way.

    ReplyDelete
  98. This question doesn't really have an answer tbh. It depends on the household and the way the family is set up. My mom can easily take money off my dads wallet without him questioning her. At the same time, it depends on the amount and the situation at hand.
Gods grace when I get married, I do not expect my husband to have a problem with me taking change from his wallet if its needed i.e, not because I dont want to spend my own money but because whatever situation I'm in does not permit. So also him to my money. It becomes 'our' money, to an extent.

    ReplyDelete
  99. It is nt called stealin if she asked him 4 moni for a useful purpose nd he didn't give ha den she goes to his pocket to take it.Shikena

But if it was used on personal needs like drinking, smoking, hair fixing, make-up, n gambling n other reckless habits dt don't add value to d family then it is stealing whether u confess later or not.

  112. What is there in telling your spouse what you need before collecting it? The problem couples have is in keeping unnecessary secrets. Once you successfully communicate, your request will be granted. Incase of emergency, there isn't any problems once u are sure to communicate later. But purposely taking it and not communicating at all, with no intention to communicate and even lying when asked is outright STEALING. Such person's place is in HELL FIRE.

  167. Do unto others as you want them to do to you.
If I take your money without telling you and maybe you kept that money for a purpose and come to discover it is gone, how would you feel even though it is hours. The other commentator said it all, if having sex with my wife when she knocked out with drink (without her knowing) is termed rape, then taking my money without my knowledge is theft.

  168. It's not stealing cos what's his is yours. But if u hv other people in your household, its good to let him know or tell him if he asks so that he doesn't suspect or accuse someone else.
