Graphic photos: Another mob killing in Akure, Ondo State

OK you know what, if the government doesn't do something about jungle justice then I will be forced to think they approve. This is getting out of hand and the sooner we deal with it, the better.

Yesterday a woman was set ablaze in Abule Egba, Lagos and today another mob killing took place in Akure, Ondo state. The man they burnt to death at Adegbola junction in Akure was allegedly found with a child...some claimed the child was found dead, others said the child wasn't dead, but everyone agreed that the man was either mad or pretended to be mad. They beat him and set him ablaze.

    10. Linda, please stop with this your 'Govt should do something'. It beginning to sound annoying like a childish rant.'Govt should do something' has become a general poem for clueless, unknowledgeable lots who do not have constructive ways of reasoning. How about coming up with an idea of something you THINK should be done, advocating for it and getting the public to support you? Like insisting that previous cases of lynching should be thoroughly investigated and the offenders brought to justice. Have you used your power as a famous blogger to effect any change? Have you ever written an article about what you feel the government is doing wrong and what you think they should do right? What have you done in your own capacity or do you think you do not have a role to play? Or do you think it's only about posting reminders of aluu 4 on the 5th of every month.... Linda ikeji, you too should do something. If you like, don't post this comment as usual. At least you will get to read it! Btw, I still love you and will still defend your haters attack you. But I want you to stop ranting and do something.

  48. I don't support criminals and their evil activities, but Nigeria is supposed to be be a sane society. That we are in a third world country doesn't mean we should act like animals with psychiatric disorders. Lynching can be stopped if the authorities really care! If the police, government organizations and non- government organizations embark on a major campaign against it and also remind Nigerians that its a crime, believe me Nigerians will stop it, cos the last this an average Nigerian wants is to fall into the Nigerian police net. People who lynch do it with a sense of pride because they believe they are right, and that's is why they resist police interference sometimes. Linda, if the Nigerian police IG can issue press statements strongly condemning lynching and reminding defaulters of the penalty that awaits them if caught, then intensify the campaign by sponsoring a STOP LYNCHING radio jingles and TV adverts in Pidgin, it will go a long way in dealing with this issue. 78. Nigerians have lost their patience with the justice system of this country, they feel insecure, as if the terror of bomb blasts isn't enough, the issue of kidnapping is also posing a serious threat to our security. Nevertheless, resorting to jungle justice is never n will never be the best. Buh dis kidnappers sef is it dat they don't hear the news of the lynching? God please save our land.

  82. @ linda, leave gvernment alone on this issue. what these people do to the kidnapped children is more than setting them ablaze. i dont really advocate for jungle justice but sometimes, it has to be done. if you have seen any one whose child was kidnapped and never returned, you will understand. painting an imaginary picture of what happens when this little innocent children are kidnapped; the kidnappers sell them off to their buyers who are mostly politicians, and the child is either pounded like a karnel or his body is butchered like a meat...imay not be able to witstand the sight of a jungle justice but trust if it is carried out on kidnappers of little children and boko haram members, i have no regret abeg.

Apparently people don't remember this part and no room to consider fair hearing.

What if the person is innocent?

What if there is misconception in the first place?

Even if the govt has passed the bill for death penalty for kidnapping, it should never be so.

  98. I wonder when we are going to understand our political philosophy as regards this JUNGLE JUSTICE. Have you ever considered the fact that those people kidnapped are likely to face more than what you call JUNGLE JUSTICE because they'll definitely be killed once they get to the evil destination (Shrine) and still send their souls for infinite task. Who among you wish to handover such case to our corrupted police force. I can't neither do I think anyone can.... Do the math pls.
