Genevieve Nnaji talks about missing Chibok Girls on CNN

Just watched Genevieve Nnaji on CNN a few minutes ago talking about the missing Chibok girls, and she was very articulate. Some of what she said below...
"Everyone is involved .We are all mothers, we are all humans and these are young girls that have been taken to captivity. As celebrities, we thought it was our responsibility to shed light and bring to the forefront this inhumane act."
"For me I think it will be unfair to say they (the federal govt) were slow to react because nobody knew whether they reacted or not. The thing is we we weren't told, we didn't know if they were aware of the situation or not. The major problem we had was the lack of communication. We just wanted them to react to us. Now we can see things being put in place, now we can see effort being made and that will be credited to the noise that's been made, the campaigning that's been made around the world. We are grateful for all the attention." Continue...
CNN: Does she welcome foreign support?
"This has been going on way too long and there's no shame asking for help and in taking it. The truth is, terrorism is not only our problem, it's not a continent problem, it's a global issue and we all have to come together to help it because at the end of the day this is a breach of human rights and it should concern each and everyone of us.

  105. She actually nailed it right on the head. This issue is more than a nation's its more of the continents. Terrorism is everywhere but how the governments of the country handles it is what matters.
For the Nigerian government, its more about the size of their stomach than the lives of the innocents.
We really do need some real young educated people in there.
Right now its all full of illiterates with no idea whatsoever on how to govern. Illiteracy is a huge epidemical issue affecting all the members of the government in Nigeria right now. Phew only God knows when the cure will arrive.

  122. Where does she stand? Wearing the #Bring back our girls then trying to be defensive of the government as well. Genny please go sit down, keep quite and keep taking your allowances from the same government.

  127. I didn't watch the interview but Genevieve's response was too naive in my opinion. It's been over 3wks and enough time for anyone to make a clear assessment on the issue. Being objective doesn't mean she'd be slandering GEJ and his regime. The president didn't react well in this situation. He showed no immediate concern neither was he seen consoling the mothers, it took him almost 3wks to establish a "fact finding" committee which raises the question, what facts where they trying to find when the girls are still missing. Our government was slow to react as well as incompetence in such issues hence the help from the US and others. We don't need to use insults to be objective. But vague responses don't help anyone in the future. If GEJ and his wife are already blaming the principal of the school as well as the governor of Borno then in same approach people have the duty to ask about the government's own efforts.

  129. This chick is an air head. They couldn't find Joke Silva or Kate henshaw or some intelligent Naija actress to speak about this topic. No good vocabulary, she couldn't even reason properly. No thoughts or idea. It just only demeans nigerian women even more.-
