CAN releases 180 names of abducted Chibok schoolgirls

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, today Sunday May 4th, released the names of 180 of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls.

According to a report by Vanguard, CAN is also asking for N50m damage as trauma compensation for the girls, plus overseas University on Government scholarship for each girl from the federal govt.

A statement signed by the Christian body gave reason for the attack on Chibok girls’ high school.
"Chibok is 90% Christians. Majority of the girls abducted are Christian! Why did Boko Haram visit Chibok Local Government? Why didn’t they visit so many other Local Government Girls Secondary Schools in Borno State?”
See the names of 180 abducted girls as released by CAN after the cut...

  35. Why are we like this in this country, when has CAN become an investigation outfit, does it matter the religion of the girls. why must we put religious sentiments to all issues? with this type of attitude our journey is still very far.
The leaders of CAN should be called to question it does not matter the religion of the girls lets all work to see how they will be released irrespective of their religion Muslim or Christian.

    ReplyDelete

Why is CAN asking for 50million for the girls?

So "CAN" knew where the girls are all along and just kept quiet allowing Nigerian Women to cry.

Because if they don't know where the girls are how will they demand for 50Million for the girls and a trip abroad.

What are they turning Nigeria to?

  45. Lets assume that those 180 names are Christian and the rest are Muslim. While CAN is politicizing the issue at hand. While we are still condemning the letter being written by Nyanko, Orisatjofor is also using his power to make us believe that it is along religion line.

I have never seen Nigeria being separated like this in my entire life, that is why i am proud to be from SW zone bcos every families have both Christian and Muslim living in harmony

  48. with due respect and all apologies, I am not sure why Pastor Ayo Oritsejeafor or whatever his name is released these names divided by religion. Nigerians have unified in looking for these girls and all CAN do is to release a list with "the names of our daughters are...." and the names of the muslim girls are ...." This is not what I expect of a christian or any leader at all. The guy has indirectly brought in another negative dimension into the whole search. And he seems himself as a christian leader. He obviously has no interest of peace in mind. Which way Nigeria?

Boko Haram from Day 1 clearly said that christians should leave the north and CAN is asking why did they visit a christian school? hiaan. We should put fire on GEJs pants and focus on their release rather than make irrelevant demands at this stage.

  84. How did can know this names?

Why is CAN asking for 50million for the girls?

So CAN knew where the girls are all along and just kept quiet allowing Nigerian Women to cry.

Because if they don't know where the girls are how will they demand for 50Million for the girls and a trip abroad.

What are they turning Nigeria to?

There is need to investigate and Probe CAN?????????? perhaps they are the master mind behind BOKO HARAM.

  92. Am surprised, at trying time we are talking muslim and christian girls instead of talking abt souls.why is CAN inciting the public to another national calamity if people term this to be a religious war.BH are no respecter of nigerians, they are enemies of nigeria.it is a common war we should all rise up to.BH is a matter of time.

We are talking very important issues that concern human lives here and all this association of old men can do is divide people more so that lives can be lost or what?

I pray that God should keep them.

  108. Mmmmm... CAN, so what do you have to say about the Buni Yadi students who who had their throats slit while they slept? The last time I checked, those babies were muslim students.Plus CAN aint you current news wise or what? For we all know boko haram unleashes terror all over. So was up with the 'they went to Chibok cause its a christain community?' Religion, the bane of Nigeria, the main cog in the wheel of our progress. Nigerians wake up, put religious sentiments aside or we shall forever remain stagnant. Meanwhile as we debate on our abducted baby girls and get carried away arguing over what CAN has published, Deizani's private jet issue is being gradually swept under the carpet!

Why can't we some together as one in unity so we can see progress in dis country? It is sad that we have allowed our so called leaders to brainwash us with their selfish scams. Now CAN is asking for compensation. One will start having funny thots over such demands even b4 d gals r freed. Haba! Wake up, Naija pple.

Am so disappointed by CAN .........am very much suspecting them for the attack in the north. see thier statement "
"Chibok is 90% Christians. Majority of the girls abducted are Christian! Why did Boko Haram visit Chibok Local Government? Why didn’t they visit so many other Local Government Girls Secondary Schools in Borno State?” Let me tell you why they choose those girls. because muslim girls were killed and kidnapped and the media refused to hear their voices..........shame on you CAN.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Nigerians need to read in between the lines. CAN did nothing wrong, just about 10 of the girls abducted were Muslims. These people are very familiar with the movement of BK, rather than blame government for the skeletons in our closet we should question how it got there in the first place. When there was a threat to bomb the LAW School Abuja the best advice we got was anyday Muslim students were absent from class, take to ur heels and run without looking back. After all even in abduction investigations abroad the first step to take is usually posting pictures of the victim around or is it possible to find a person without a face. CAN tackled what borno people refused to do.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Anon saying muslims are slow poisons bla, bla, bla, the president your brother is the slowest poison of all. Would you be nice enough to explain why as a xtian he does not care about the abducted girls who CAN says are 90% xtians? Gullible moron na hin u be.

  119. Wow so u believe this publication, obviously its a lie, how will the girls be more of christians than muslims in an islamic state that has been In turmoil for so long, and how many huawa, esther, deborah and mary can u have in one set

  120. Waec should have been in a better position to release names and not CAN na wa oo.

  121. Am just feel for these innocent girls. Their names has just been released after they have been molested. I believe the arranging is after their virginity for power and they will be released after their evil acts. May Almighty God spark His thunder on all that are involve in this evil act IJMN.

  122. I believe CAN is insinuating that chibok was attacked because there are more Christians in the school. This is quite an insensitive comment coming from CAN. We were first born as human beings; boys and girls before we knew what Muslim or Christian was. Very soon CAN would tell us that only Christians board vehicles from Nyanya park. This is a national disaster. Whether Muslim or Christian, we are all affected by the boko haram menace, some more than others no doubt. As a Muslim, I go to places and when people realize m a Muslim, they begin to wonder if I have bombs or not. These so called boko haram members who claim that western education is bad have forgotten that even the Quran tells us to go as far as china to seek knowledge. It is obvious that some people are fighting senseless wars against Nigeria and using the Quran as a weapon. The Quran doesn't tell Muslims to kill Christians.

  124. Anonymous @ May 5, 2014 at 12:23 PM, I have double checked. No name appeared twice on the list. Pls always cross-check ur facts.

CAN should please go and present this list to Mr. President and his kitchen cabinet (Kema Chikwe inclusive) who are insinuating that there was no kidnap in the first place. At least that should give the president the impetus to act. Moreso since CAN President is Mr. President's (GEJ) man-friday he would at least now believe that the girls have been kidnapped and need to be rescued.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Do we seriously have to make this a religious issue? Irrespective of the girl's religious affiliation, the most important thing is that they are Nigerians, and they should be found, so CAN should shit up and take a back seat.

    ReplyDelete
  126. @ anonymous. You are very stupid. Are the missing girls not students or You think their names are not documented? Nonsense being like You .
