    1. I don't know why these our Yoruba movies practitioners, like they call themselves would not just move with the trend. They can fall my hand. At this age, where things are moving fast, they're still there doing their things in 'slow-motion'. Still proudly Yoruba though but the truth must be told. We have educated, ssocialites, 'soji', people, but the crazy politics in ANTP would not give room for the right people to come in.

Well, I think there is nothing wrong if the symbol of "Oduduwa" was used in the plaque it truly represents our root as yorubas. For me, the organizers just need to improve on the quality of the organization, stage set-up, amongst others. Congratulations to all the winners and most especially my best yoruba actor, Sanyeri (can't remeber his full name).

  33. When you leave out certain details that's what you get, most male actors in the pictures above especially Odunade and Saidi Balogun earned more than the English speaking actors, the organisers FAILED woefully on what should have been a great moment in the movie industry. As a yoruba man I take exception to been labelled RAZZ please. Adeyemi....

We all Nigerians aren't we?Somone also complained about the statue..it looks like Ogun..well Ogun is a yoruba God isn't it? Why can't we be proud of our own culture? why must we always copy foreigners? In South America,Asia,Europe they study Yoruba culture..its the most popular culture in the world.but Nigerians don't appreciate.SMH.and by the way im from Rivers..married to a Yoruba

  49. I'm Yoruba and I just have to say this even it does not count. I wonder many times why my people are not being invited to red carpets event but d answer is not far fetched. Complex. If u have been acting for so long and u still cannot brush up to be able to represent, it's sad. How many English actors really have a degree to their name? Yet dy develop themselves over the years. I look at Pasuma. Is he educated? But he can mingle well bc he is brushing up and upgrading himself. These pple need talking to seriously. They are indeed local in their ways. No one is saying don't wear Ankara, but u can stand out in it. Brush up guys! Even d educated ones are now looking razz. Hmm

  80. It is really nice that respondents here find the time to critique the Yoruba theater Practitioners. It's a welcome distraction from all our ills in Nigeria. It is however one's hope that the Igbo blogger/owner of this site harbors no malicious intent. It would be expedient to remind her that traffic to her blog is not a one way track from Nnewi or Onitsha. Matter of fact, Yoruba viewers on this site help in no small measure to contribute to that big mansion for Daddy in the village, and the tickets on which the blogger junkets over the world. Issues of ethnicity and culture in Nigeria can be a hot potato hence some common sense is called for. #justtellingthetruthtoLinda#
