Ghana Police makes headway in Ayogu’s death investigations

According to Channels TV, the parents of 19 year old Godwin Ayogu, the 300-level student of Cape Coast University, Ghana, who was found murdered on February 19th (read here), said the the Nigerian High Commission in Ghana, who has been working with the Ghanaian Police, told them that some suspects have been arrested by the police in connection with her son's murder.

Lilian Ayogu told Channels TV today Monday April 21 that they were shocked to learn that the people arrested in connection with her son's murder were not just his friends, but were also Nigerians.
“Last week, the Nigerian Ambassador over there said that they have made some headway. He said that they got some guys and that the funniest part was that they are all Nigerians. Most of the guys they got were his friends.
“One person had earlier questioned why Godwin’s friends were on the run after his death,” she said.

  19. He said that they got some guys and that the FUNNIEST part was that they are all Nigerians.

There is nothing 'funniest' about the death of an individual and the suspects hailing from the same country as the deceased. "Worst" should accurately describe this tragic event.

Only Nigerians can kill in such a babaric way. Because you ppl got evil running thru your veins. Immediately i heard this story i instantly knew there is no way in hell a Ghanaian can do is, Only his fellow nigerians can do it and low and behold i was right. I wish the government will deport all the Nigerians out of Ghana.

  72. No place in the world you find a culprit through black mail and intimidation. We are asking the authorities to do a clean Job. You do not start to publish people photo where there is no evidence linking them to the crime. What has happened cannot happen in a civilized world, the publisher and the information provider will pay dearly.
Mr Ghanaian Europe Mubarak, can this happen in Europe where you claim to be residing ?

  73. To who it may concerned, the day you are framed up, you will remember a day like this.
These boys are held up for no good reason. This is as a result of a failed system. In a normal society this is not acceptable.
It's very sad that justice will not prevail.

  74. From the comment posted so far I would say most people are not following the event as it enfold. Most comment posted are based on sentiment.
Google and watch the interview granted by Mr Anyaogu senior to Channel TV. He asked a very important question. He asked where is his son's immediate room mate? Why is he not held by the police. He said he is the prime suspect in this whole story. Is he free because Ghanaian cannot hurt a fly? Can someone provide an answer to this question!

  75. This is a pure manipulation and Nigerian fall to that. I use to see Nigerians as very smart people. What is happening shows that they cannot put 1+1 together . Big time shame. People killed your own person and turned it against you and you accepted it? Wonders shall never end.

  76. The first story that broke out when this boy died was that his Ghanaian room mate borrowed his school fees. And that is why he was unable to register for the ongoing academic year . Has this boy been cleared from this case? What has happened to him?
Listening to the interview granted by the late boys father, the school told him that his son was not a student of UCC. They are quick to dismiss the case.
Where are his Ghanaian friends, especially his immediate room mate? How far has the police conducted investigation on him and other Ghanaians involved? God bless you all

  79. Has the Nigeria Ambasador to Ghana gone to the various police cell to visit these boys? It's his primary duty. He has to go and see under what condition they are kept. If mr Ambasador you have not gone, better go now for the good interest of all concerned in this issue. It's your civic duty to protect all nigeria citizens that lives in Ghana.

  82. They are more questions to answers in this case. To live in a non functional society is a crime. What is happening to these boys is a crime against humanity. We all should rise and say no. Enough is enough !!!!!
