OJB calls out D'banj in new intervew, says celebs used his donation as competition

During an interview with Inspiration FM's Gloria Maduka post surgery, veteran music producer OJB Jezreel addressed controversy surrounding his donations, said celebs used it as competition and calls out Dbanj. Here's why he's unhappy with D'banj. During his fund raiser many months back, there were rumours that D'banj gave his former music producer N7m, a report that D'banj didn't deny. OJB says D'banj didn't give him a dime and was upset that he didn't try to set the record straight
"The most disappointing one for me is D'banj because he passed through my hands, he was trained under my tutelage. That is offensive. I don't care if you're with Kanye West, you can't forget your root. I won't call anybody else's name but I will call his because it hurts. His own hurts very deep. And he never tried to reach out to me. It's not like we parted on fighting terms.  He told me he had to go to London and he went. And when he came back it was Don Jazzy, and I said OK, that's fine. And what he did worked and I'm very proud of him, the love I had for him, that's why it hurts more. He should have come out to say no, I don't know why you people are saying all this, I didn't give OJB N7million, maybe a part of him felt embarrassed because at the end of the day, really, are you not supposed to do something?" OJB says during the interview
He also talked about how people used his fund raiser as competition and once again addresses the bounced cheques. Continue....

"When P-Square gave me N5million cheque, everybody started treating it as a competition. They were like, they brought N5m, I want to show that I can do more, or equal it. So they will come to my house, some will drop N2m, N1m, you say thank you, they take pictures and go away. Then you drop the cheque in your account and you see that almost N4/5million is being returned back to you that it didn't clear. You call them and tell them and they tell you they are coming but they haven't picked the cheques till now.
"The shocking ones are not even the bounced cheques. It's the ones that when they are coming to meet you in the house to give you money, they come with a whole camera crew. Then they will say I'm donating one million naira to you and the cameras start recording and maybe the guy's tape stops, and he says let's take that again (Laughs).
"There were people in my dialysis that I gave N100k each to pay for their dialysis, we didn't publicize it, we didn't take photos with them, because I felt that was unnecessary."

  13. Speechless! But OJB cannot force people to give him anything, what does he he mean by ''Dbanj really should do something''on what grounds, that he is owing him??My opinion, when people live a wreckless life, they start to make it look as if people are indebted to them when they BEG for donations,I hope I didn't sound mean but charity, gift, donations etc is from the heart which people are not indebted to do.The surgery was successful or is he expecting people to continue donating to set him up after the surgery as well???

  51. Somehow I think Ojb should be more concerned with thanking God for sparing his life rather than talking about who gave and who didn't give. The truth is no one owes anyone any thing, people help out of the goodness of their hearts and not because they are compelled to. Somehow or the other God provided when he didn't have so that should be his focus now!

  53. First things first,I am glad he is alive and well. Secondly, I have never been a fan of publicized giving as I feel it's not true giving. Reason being that the real motive for giving which should be love is exchanged for fame&show of relevance. That being said,Ojb needs to face his recovery and leave the entertainers to their conscience. Zurielle's opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Never try to blame other people for ur problem

You pleaded for help and most people reach out to help you and now you have recovered. What is all these noise about? Am asking you OBJ. Concentrate on your health(to recover perfectly) biko and start working again to help your family. After all you had money once, what did you do with your money? Did you even remembered any orphanage to help? Pls allow us to breath fresh air. Cos you are popular, what about people laying critically ill in the hospital with nobody to help. Pls enough of all these nonsense. Be grateful for the gift of life and stop ranting. RACHEL.

U re very shameless to continue talkin abt those bounced cheques, cos truth is, its nt ur right in d first place and judging frm d fact dt u hav 3 wives, who is to say u couldn't av done worse to another person. 120. This ojb is seriously pissing me off! Why the hell is he always whyning? Is he d'banj's responsibility? He's a bloody liar nd con artist, the price of a normal kidney transplant in india will never pass 8million naira, he went to ask for double the amt, he now said he wanted to use the balance to "maintain himself"
If my calculations are right, the money from all the donations made to him were more than 20million, he now used the balance to buy jeep and renovate his house, lying that some imaginary good samaritan bought it for him.
He has multiple wives, he was a drunkard and that led to his kidney problems.
Argh! He pisses me of so much.

  140. Excuse me Mr. Ojb... In as much as we are happy that you're recovered, this interview is highly unnecessary. ReplyDelete
  154. Honestly now he is beginning to sound like an ungrateful cunt! Who cares?! We know in Naija its mostly show and tell, and it happens worse in our churches not even amongst celebs. At least for celebs they have genuine reasons to be fake because their jobs demand it in a way for publicity. Why doesnt he focus on the people from his church and family?
You are healed now through the help of someone else, be grateful to God and whoever that was and STFU! We are tired of hearing you cry about this...as if you would have done any differently...

Isnt that the reason you're alive? Maybe evry1 should have let you die, lemme see how you'll come out from your grave and say you were disappointed. Thank God for the people who came through for you and move the hell on. O ihe n'eme ndi uwa. Why do you think that any one owes you? i think you should be more concerened about living a healthy life. the fact that you think someone did not do something for you does not make them a bad person. i am sure if we where to talk to D'Banj he will have a bother side to this story. What is don os done move on and stop talking. After all have you not had the treatment? and has it not already been paid for. Take responsibliety for your own life.

  176. Been a while I wrote a comment but this is very funny. Now OJB can talk and feel proud instead of thanking God for the support he got from people and God's divine healing. Now you can boast of giving people 100k each for dialysis. Na your money? No be out of the cash dem help your low life with? Mschewww. I hate ungrateful human like this. And leave D'banj out of this. It's not a must he helps if he doesn't wanna. And I've never heard that he was ever with you before don jazzy. Don't try to take glory where you don't deserve. As for the cheque from psquare, at least they still made an effort even if you got less than they gave. Why are you being an hypocrite and a bastard. You shouldn't have granted this interview in this first place, it's so irrelevant. I don't pray for what happened to you for anybody and I know what you went through was had bro but Grow up man and get a life

  178. Talking about the publicity opportunity, Why are you coming to talk about it here? After all you could have called them up on it right there. but no because of your greed and not wanting to stand by your so called principles you idulged them just incase they refused to give you the money. See this is the country we live in. When you are pointing a finger at someone remember that four huge fingers are pointing back at you.

  179. @anonymous 1 & 3..y does it hurt to say the truth?OJB is sayin the truth...it hhigh time we got used to the truth being said. mayb u guys were stil in kindergerten when OJB was in the sceen..lol. but serzly, when pple are in need...its always divine to lend a helping hand and be sincere with it(Not with in the face of cameras). it shows how irresponsible they are...and how they will treat the fans that got them there if they can treat one of their own like this...

  180. Nobody owes u anything MR man, rather than go on anon about bounced cheques and ur attitude of I have a right to other people's money. Why not focus that energy on going round to churches, mosques, radio stations etc and give testimonies of how God saved you from a life threatning ailment. Not everyone who went thru a transplant was blessed with a succesful one. So abeg shut it already. YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS TO ANYBODYS MONEY...whether they passed thru u or not...mchewwww
