US Sen. says Nigerian email scammers have been hired to run the Obamacare website

On Monday night, October 21st, US Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz insulted Nigerians in a bid to mock Obamacare website glitch. He told a rally of his fellow activists in Houston that Nigerian email scammers have been hired to run the Obamacare website.

Senator Cruz said:
“You may have noticed that all the Nigerian email scammers have become a lot less active lately. They all have been hired to run the Obamacare website.”
How can a senator talk so recklessly? And he even laughed. We don suffer. Watch the video after the cut...

Abi Linda, are you a Nigerian email scammer?
      Okpani.

  2. Linda you got this story all wrong pls!
He only quipped about that not meaning he mocked Nigerians, and those hired are not direct scammers as in what we refer to as "yahoo boys" here. Lots of misconception from this would just arise for nothing.

  62. It is foolish to think that Nigerians are smart people. Smart people build great nations; they build nations that Nigerians die to go to. We have a nation where nothing works and some people continue to confuse cunning for smartness. Nigerians are foolish and evil and the scandal continues to be the Nigerian mind - we don't think right.

It is to Nigeria's credit that Nigerians continue to be identified with what Nigerians are known for - corruption and twisted minds.

    ReplyDelete

  66. Well i can't blame him, because in Nigeria everybody want to be at least comfortable, the dichotomy between the rich and the poor is vast and as if this is not enough every family is saddled with the responsibility of providing basic infrastructure such as water (we drill boreholes), security (we hire guards, high fence with wires) good roads ( neighborhood self help, toll gates) electricity (we buy generators) health (we travel abroad) because of this most of us believe in the saying that "the end justify the means" while in a sane world the "means justify the end". Eg, ibori's kids publicly celebrating their father's bday even he is in prison for milking delta dry, Abacha's son contesting for governor and so on.

  98. The first step in problem resolution is identifying there is a problem, That is what we havent done, we have not recognised that our country is in a deep rot that is why we are not likely to ever get out of the rot. I am Nigerian and I don't trust Nigerians. Sad! If my father was an armed robber I wont be proud of him. How do I honestly defend a country like Nigeria with a straight face. I love our diverse culture (even though there is a lot of tribalism), I love our food, I love our attitude (we are strong and confident and brilliant), but I hate the lawlessness, the selfishness, the tribalism, the corruption, the injustice, the lack of trust and love for one another etc. What we need is change not forced patriotism. The guy didn't say all Nigerians are scammers, He said Nigerian Scammers. I dont think its out of context. What he said is not even close to the ibo yoruba bashing we see on blogs....please lets focus on talks and discussions on how to fix our country and potray it in a good light instead of crying when people talk based on their perception of us....I want a better Nigeria, a Nigeria with a legal system that works, a Nigeria with an exceptional educational system (then the US and UK would not make money off us in the name of education), A Nigeria with much less corruption and more transparency (lets admit it corruption cannot be fully eliminated anywhere in the world), A Nigeria with people that love each other regardless of tribe, gender, religion or social status, A Nigeria that utilises its God Given human and natural resources efficiently....is that a dream in a dream ?????...it is well

  111. See what Nigerians have been reduced to! I was at work one day and some Pakistani boys said why did Osama live in Pakistan and not in Nigeria? Its obvious that Nigeria is the laughing stock of this world and I blame no one but Nigerians for this. Still shaming ourselves in foreign lands till date. A greedy man has no shame..

    6. it will be a shame, a disaster, a catastrophe if ted is not made to apologize for what he said. notice i never used the word senator, because ted is a sad excuse for a human begin. it would have been better if his mum had flushed his as menses! this is a serious case, and i wish our leaders will rise to the occasion, as posterity will judge this government if this insult is allowed to stand.
