President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan welcomes Nigeria’s election today to a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council with a total of 186 out of a possible 193 votes.
On behalf of the Federal Government and people of Nigeria, President Jonathan wishes to convey his sincere appreciation of the support of all member-countries of the United Nations who voted for Nigeria’s election to the Security Council.
The President believes that today’s endorsement of Nigeria’s candidature for the Security Council seat by the vast majority of member-countries is a glowing expression of support and encouragement for Nigeria’s active participation in the promotion of peace, security and political stability in Africa and other parts of the world.
This is the fourth time since
it became independent in 1960 that Nigeria is being elected to the UN Security
Council. It is also the second time (2010-2011 and 2014-2015) that Nigeria will
be elected to the Council under the Jonathan Presidency.
The President is particularly delighted by this historic victory and assures the global community that
Nigeria, under his leadership, will continue to make very significant
contributions towards the achievement and sustenance of global peace and
security.

Inasmuch as this is a welcomed development,it isn't in any way what the bulk of Nigerians can relate to.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Mr president & and Nigerians in general. We deserve it 100%. Our contributions & sacrifices towards global peace & security especially in Africa cannot be over emphasized. We remain the giant of Africa. We may have our daunting challenges as a nation but that cannot expunge or vitiate our nature-imposed status or position in the committee of nations especially in Africa. One day we will become the giant of the world if not politically but economically. Long live Nigeria!!!

ReplyDeleteThis isn't interesting as Nigerians will still be treated like the worst beings on earth in all their immigration points while our immigration officers salute anything that isn't Nigerian skin even Bangladesh dirty olive colors.that said,I see Mr Abati is quick to announce this while keeping silent on the well documented allegations of one of Mr Presidents kitchen cabinet member.if Mr president lets this slap on the face slide, then Mr president should be labeled a hypocrite.

if you are cautious investor, you must be looking for more than just an online broker, allowing you to trade. You should be looking for an advanced, progressively thinking professionals like Mc'dave investment company, whom are there to make prosperity possible. They invest with your money in telecoms, oil&gas, real estates etc , and also using sophisticated investment solutions. Mc'dave Investment Services Ltd(MDISL) is already a household name, so the fear of inconsistency is removed. even if you dont know how to use a computer provided you read the english language then congratulation!!
