NCAA suspends operations of Associated Airlines following crash

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has suspended the operations of Associated Airlines, following the ill-fated crash that occurred on Thursday October 3rd, which killed 13 passengers.

NCAA announced the suspension yesterday Saturday October 5th via it's Director-General, Capt. Fola Akinkuotu. He said;
“Associated Airlines operations have been suspended by the NCAA. Let me say for the purpose of clarity, I said their operations, I mean all their operations of Associated Airline have been suspended by the NCAA. I did not say any certification was cancelled but all operations.”
Capt Akinkuotu explained that the suspension of the airline is to pave the way for ongoing probe into the cause of the crash.

My thoughts exactly. If they had done their jobs in the first place this crash wouldn't have happened. We are still reeling from the Dana Air crash of 2012, now this.

    1. U see, its best to do ur esearch before u open ur dirty mouth! Who said inspections were not carried out on the aircraft? Didn't u hear neutral pple even complaining about how NCAA staff are always on ramp inspecting the aircrafts in our airports? Have u heard about human factor before in ur miserable life? If ur car is perfect and u drive when u are drunk what happens? Have u ever thought of the possibility of the crash being caused by the pilot's state of mind? Or ATC's state of mind? Or engineer's mistake? U r here cursing NCAA

  14. They alway wait till a tragedy happens to suspend an airline. If you ask me they should suspend all the airlines and run a thorough maintenance check on every aircraft.

  15. heard all this before.
    DANA airline. What happened afterwards?
Till today, nobody knows. Whatever the outcome of the investigations were, nobody knows. Nobody asked. Nobody fought. Only those who lost their loved ones know the pain. And still nurse it. Today,DANA air still flies. And the owners are still smiling to the banks.

If this lagy has 3rd degree burn and it involves a large body surface, the chances of survival are slim in Naija hospitals. Its ok to pray because thats all we do in Nigeria but take her to Parkland in Dallas. The company only needs to deposit $1million and she has a higher chance of survival.

    1. Who said the airworthiness of the aircraft wasn't monitored? The certificate of airworthiness is renewed after 12 months, without it they can't operate the aircraft, so who told u it wasn't monitored? Look outside ur window next time u are about to take off or when landing, u would see NCAA staff going round inspecting aircrafts for ur safety!!! 24hours a day!!!

  38. Once there is a plane crash in Nigeria, the airline is suspended for probe, a probe that nobody ever knows what d outcome is. The next thing u hear is that d suspension has been lifted and they are back to business, this is how a failed society works. Must u wait for a crash to take place before airlines and their operators are checked????

  42. The government of this country is very sick. When plane crashes happen like this, all they'd think of is "suspending " the airline & that's all. The annoying part is that I think they even suspend these airlines not because of correction & punishment, but only just out of emotions because they probably knew someone who died in the crash. When would our government have sense & make things work absolutely right?

    ReplyDelete
  43. ČŠ̝̊̅§ dat d solution hmmmm stupid leaders, d fd government should impeach d minister for aviation pls post my comment D Y

  48. I don't understand our lame govt, u suspend airline after a crash, why don't u suspend to avert the crash? U people are always very mean, it takes lives to go for u to know when to act like human beings, we truly have animals in govt and tomorrow this same association whatever wl throw a welcome back party after bribing unall and get their silly operations back
Nigeria leaders are mean, may they all reap from the evil they r sowing

  50. Why wait for an air mishap to happen first before action? What ever happened to "being proactive"?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Oh, but when Yakowa and General Azazi died, no one investigated their deaths. Anyway, they are all dead and gone. The annoying part is that tomorrow, they will fly again and people will die again

    ReplyDelete
  52. Abeg...all these medicine after death...they should check ALL airlines and not just the ones that have killed people..
Why wait until the inevitable happens?

The truth is airplanes are very expensive to maintain so its not a buisness for any idiot with money...

Just like how banks were merged ..maybe airlines should b merged as well..hopefully that way..there will b more money available to them and better maintenance culture! Becos frankly I can't deal with another airline crash in Nigeria because of bad infrastructure ..it's not faiir on d masses!

  55. Nigeria Government really has a big fated-illness in the sense that, we don't work until we are pushed. Why?

If I could recall the last time I flew Dana air (early last month) to Lagos "men" it was so scary due to some kind of noise during takeoff couple with turbulence in the air. I was just praying to God for safe landing and I promise God not to fly local flight again until there are changes in our Aviation Sector.

The major problem our Government is facing today is negligent and self-grid. Everybody wants to make easy money and doesn’t want his or her family to suffer but nobody wants to work.

Same problem goes to Aviation, Power Sector, and Security Agencies etc No proper monitoring, no sincere report is being presented because bribe is involve, No dedication to work and we are all praying for better Nigeria.

God help us all because there is no significant improvement in our Government and who are the Government? (Leaders, Middle-Class and Lower-Class Citizen). Segzy
