DeleteI think people are getting confused because they don't know the meaning of 'bankable'..... : The list is not about how rich they are. Bankable means if you have someone on something, will it sell ? that depends on popularity and likeability. It means something that is guaranteed to make money or bring profit. Inotherwords, it means they have the potentials to generate revenue for those who invest in them.

What is the endorsement value of Femi Kuti and Flavour? WizKid(like him or not) is the highest paid Pepsi Ambassador in Africa. Lionel Messi is also a Pepsi Ambassador, if I may need to remind you,making them members of the same elite group. Can you compare the influence of Femi and Flavour with these guys? (Femi doesn't have any influence of his own, he is still riding on the "Kuti" name. Remove the "Kuti Effect" from his name and what you have left is "Femi", who has not really achieved anything compared to the guys on that list. Remove the same "Kuti Effect" from Fela and what you have is still an Icon)
Who are the guys nominated in the BET Awards for Africa artiste in the past 3 years? We have them on that list. When last was Femi or Flavour(don't think he has ever been)nominated for such globally recognized award, not to talk of winning.
I am a "sucker" for Banky W,but look at what this guy is doing with EME. It is gradually turning it into a global brand, just like we had Mo Hits (Not surprised both of them were on the list too) before the break-up. What is Femi or Flavour turning to a global brand?

Forbes is not in the entertainment business, so no one expects them be commenting on the "greatness" or "longevity" of an artiste. the issue is that right now, who is bankable for this year? Forbes is more than qualified to measure that. I love Femi Kuti to bits, but Afro-beats is an acquired taste, and while I am sure he and the likes of Asa have dedicated followings and are beyond excellent in their craft, I doubt that either of them will be able to pull the crowds P-Square, 2face and Iceprince et al pulled in other African countries

There is a criteria take 5 minutes of your time and read what forbes based its list on, just 5 minutes and if you don't understand the terms there is no harm in asking someone who can explain it better. Its not that difficult and if it is then i suggest you keep quiet and not display your ignorance on social media. There is a little bit of dignity in silence.

Bankable means the person that can bring the most profit to their endorsers and does not mean the richest eg they can make sure a movie or song is successful simply by appearing in it, or they wear someone's clothing and everyone wants to buy it.
