Its always fun to watch spoken word poetry.
ReplyDeletePoetic prowess,in my opinion,is best expressed verbally as every Tom,Dick and Harry can pick up a pen and a pad to scribble words down but only a truly gifted person who has mastered the proper usage of dictions and figures of speech can stand in front of a crowd and let it all out.

ReplyDeleteafrican poetry will not sell until we start being creative with our rendition and also stop trying to do it like the oyinbos. There is need for us to create a style for poetry made in africa and that style will eventually become a brand that global consumers will pay premium for just like our music

ReplyDeleteHave you been to any of the Word UP events before? Why not go and see what happens there first, before running a commentary on African Poetry?
@Word Up Crew,
Kudos guys, looking forward to the event.
Ok Lindi, I don hear
ReplyDeleteIf all the people commenting about the poetry event can't spell or write proper English, I wonder what Language the poetry will be in.
